(Y/N)'s POV--
I woke up and took a shower. I went downstairs, grabbed my backpack, and headed out the door.
~At school~
Ivy walked up to me. "Hey there!" She said. Does she know me? "What?" I asked. "Geez. I was just going to ask if you were okay!" She said. "Oh. I'm sorry." I said. I was walking away when..."hold it right there!" She said. I turned around. "What is it?" I asked frustrated. "Wanna be friends?" She asked. "I'll think about it." I said and walked to class.
~After school~
I was walking home when I heard my mom curse again. Not again! I told myself. I ran the rest of the way home. When I got inside she was banging on Iyanne's bedroom door. (Warning! There will be curse words because her mom is cursing, 'cause of Iyanne not opening her room door, so please it's not my intention! It's her moms. Back to the story!) "GET OUT OF YOUR ROOM NOW YOU FUCKING BITCH!!!" My mom screamed. Then she noticed me. I put my hands in the air, letting her know I was surrendering to her. I don't want her to hurt my little sister. My mom ran down the stairs and smacked me which made me fall on the ground. I held my tears back. I don't want her to think I'm weak. Then I heard a door open. I looked up the stairs and saw Iyanne crying. Then my mom grabbed a whip. I put my hands up. She looked at me confused. "I surrender." I mumbled in a weak voice. "Good." My mom said and smacked me multiple times with the whip. Then she dragged me by the hair up to my room and slammed the door behind her. I took my phone out. It wasn't broken. Good.

Me: hey Cat
Cat: (Y/N)!!!! ARE YOU OKAY?!? YOU HAVENT HUNG OUT WITH ME IN FOREVER!!!
Me: *starts crying* I'm so sorry Cat. I needed some space. Anyway, my mom for some reason just became abusive. I don't know why. But I'm protecting Iyanne from her.
Cat: oh no! I'm so sorry! I hope she stops!
Me: yea. Me too.
Cat: but no matter what happens, stay strong for your sister. I know if I were in this situation I would do anything to protect Jazi.
Me: your right Cat. Thanks.
Cat: no problem. And I'm always here if you want to talk!
Me: sure thing. Bye.
Cat: bye. Stay strong! I believe in you!

I thought about what Cat had said. She's right. But am I strong?
