Chapter 4: Awkward

"I have to find Heather! Something's wrong, she won't answer her phone!" I said worriedly.

"Wait! I can give you a ride." Jin offered.

"What? No... it's okay, I gotta get out of here." I rushed out the door. I was embarrassed enough as it is, and I wanted to get far away as possible. Jin followed me out the door and looked like he wanted to say something as he opened his mouth, but I left before he could say another word.

Without thinking, I grabbed my phone and ordered an Uber. I exited the elevator and headed out to the lobby. Fortunately, we were in a busy side of downtown, so my Uber driver was outside, already waiting for me.

I felt like I was missing something. I searched in my purse and realized I didn't have my wallet! I must have left it at the club! Great! Could this day get any worse?

My Uber Driver arrived in a new gray sedan. I quickly greeted him and climbed into the backseat of his car. The driver seemed nice, but raised an eyebrow at me when he saw how disheveled I look. His car was very clean and had that new car smell. He offered me a complimentary water bottle and I drank it down quickly after thanking him. I already started feeling better, but still lightheaded and a bit dizzy.

I realized I must look like a hot mess with my crazy hair, and smudged makeup. Even worse, I was leaving a hotel room dressed in last night's club clothes. I was probably getting judged by my driver and all the people that saw me leave the hotel. I really should have fixed myself up before I left, but there was no way I could have stayed in that hotel room with Jin! It was extremely awkward being alone with Jin there. I wanted to leave as soon as possible! This was not how I pictured meeting one of my favorite celebrities would go.

I dialed Heather's number again, it went straight to voicemail.

What's going on!? She always has her phone on her.

We finally arrived at my apartment and I thanked my driver as I exited his pristine car, giving him an extra tip for driving me home so fast.

I stepped into my one bedroom apartment, quickly peeled off the uncomfortable dress and jumped in the shower. The hot water felt refreshing, as it rained down on me. I thought about how crazy last night was, and how lucky I was that Jin saved me. The thought of him gave me butterflies in my stomach. I wish I could have met him under different circumstances. I brushed my teeth and got dressed in my comfy jeans and T-shirt, relieved to be clean and comfortable. I immediately called the nightclub to ask about my wallet, but of course they're closed during the day. Typical.

I checked my bank account online to make sure no one had a shopping spree at my expense. Fortunately, I wasn't missing any money. Not that there's a lot of money in my bank, but still I'm broke and every penny counts.

My stomach started growling angrily, I hadn't eaten anything all day yet, and it was already noon. I got up and made myself a club sandwich to eat. I was halfway through eating my delicious sandwich, when I heard a loud knock on my front door.

Who could that be? I wondered as I took another bite out of my club sandwich. The only people that knock on my door is the pizza delivery guy.

To my surprise, standing outside my door, looking like he just stepped out of a Vogue magazine was Kim Seokjin. I felt my heart skip a beat, he looked so gorgeous standing there. I quickly glanced in the mirror and straightened my hair, as I quickly tried to look presentable.

Oh my God! Why is he here? How does he even know where I live? Okay, breathe Cora let's see what he wants.

I opened the door slightly, and stuck my head out to greet him.

"Ugh hi ..." I awkwardly greeted Jin.

"Hello, it's Cora Lee right?" Jin said with a charming smile.

"Yes... um, how can I help you?" I managed to say, overwhelmed with that brilliant smile.

"You left your wallet in my hotel room. You were in such a rush to leave, you ran out before I could give it to you."  Jin handed me my belongings.

"Oh right, but how did you know where I live?" I asked confused.

"I looked in your wallet and saw your address on your ID. I'm glad I found the right address." Jin smiled smugly, looking very proud of himself.

"Oh I see. Uh, thanks."

I quickly grab my wallet from Jin, and tried to hastily close the door.

"Hold on a minute. I'm not done talking to you!" Jin grabbed the door before I could shut it.

"Oh you're not?" I was surprised he still wanted to talk to me.

"No! Don't be rude. I saved you, and even brought you your wallet, and this is how you treat me?" Jin looked annoyed with me.

"Look, this whole situation is very strange and awkward for me. I need time to think and recover. Please leave, but I do appreciate what you've done."
I felt way too awkward to talk to him right now, I just wanted to hide in my room and pretend like last night never happened!

I could feel my face growing hot, and my heart beating faster. I was not used to handsome men seeking me out, well I was not used to any men seeking me out.

"Okay fine, I'll leave then. Just be more careful, and next time, don't take drinks from strange men!" Jin said sternly to me, like he was scolding me.

"Uh okay? I'll keep that in mind. Bye." I said with an attitude as I felt myself growing annoyed.

I slammed the door angrily in his face before he could say another word.

Who does he think he is? Lecturing me like I'm a child.
