Riley's POV 

I watch as my friends walk back into Topanga's, where our plan was about to be put into action. 

"Kill Riley Matthews." they all say in unison. Maya turns towards them with an evil smile. "Is it done?" she asks eagerly. They nod. Maya's smile grows wider and eviller. "Great job. I should probably get you back to normal now." she says. She waves her hands around and dark magic comes out of everyone's head and goes straight to Maya's hand, like a magnet. Part one: trick Maya into thinking Riley's dead, check. 

I see this as my chance to come in, so I quietly sneak in and make my way behind the cash register. I see Iris, Lindsey and Kali all nod at each other, which means that the second part of our plan is a go. The three of them walk up to Bethany. 

"Hi, there." Iris flashes a smile. "I'm Iris." 

"I'm Kali." 

"And I'm Lindsey." 

"Well hi there. I'm Bethany!" Bethany beams. "Do you guys need something?" 

"Well...we..uh, you see..." Kali stutters. I mentally face palm. 

"What Kali is trying to say is that we'd like to show you something, Bethany." Iris beams up at her. 

Bethany smiles. "Well I don't see why not!" she gets up and follows the three girls to the back of the cafe. "What'd you girls wanna show me? This is pretty far back into the cafe!" Bethany says. "Don't worry, we're almost there." Lindsey reassured her. 

They were soon standing awkwardly in front of an old janitor's closet. Iris opens the door and walks in with Bethany behind her. Kali and Lindsey stay on the outside. 

The closet is pitch black, so I couldn't see Bethany nor Iris. I did see Iris do a side-step dance thing so that she would be closer to the door when she needed to bolt. 

"So what's in here that you wanted to show me?" Bethany asks, obviously clueless. Iris flips on the light switch that reveals an old janitor's closet. Bethany looks around confused, and then looks back at Iris, who has a smirk painted across her lips. Iris then bolts out of the closet, slamming the door before Bethany could get to it, and Kali and Lindsey put a broom stick through the handle of the door, along with blocking the door with some heavy things, all while ignoring the pounding and yelling of Bethany.

Once the girls were finished, they look at each other while dusting off their hands, and look back at me and nod, showing me that Part 2: getting Bethany out of the way, can be checked off the list. 

The next part of the plan was the one I was really dreading. 

I look over to Lucas, who is sitting in an uncomfortable silence with Maya. Lucas looks up at me, and I nod, signaling him to start with his part. He does a half nod back, so that no one would see it but me. 

He then starts to stare at Maya. Maya obviously notices it, but doesn't acknowledge it until she starts to feel uncomfortable. She shifts in her chair and nervously plays with her hair and fingers. Until, she finally snaps. 

"What?!" she snaps. 

"What do you mean, 'what?!'" Lucas asks in a calm and collected voice. 

"Why are you staring at me?" Maya faces him this time, and the color rushes to her cheeks. 

"Oh, sorry. It's just that you are just so beautiful. I can't help but stare." he says with a slight smile. 

Oh that hurt. 

Maya's face was tomato red by now, as she pulls a strand of her hair behind her ear. Lucas gets up and walks towards her, causing her to shift in her chair nervously. He walks right up to her, until their faces are only inches apart. 

"You know," Lucas starts, " I never really liked Riley." OW. "I only dated her because I wanted your attention." DOUBLE OW. "But I guess that it didn't really work." Lucas looks down, and it really looks like he is hurt. TRIPLE OW. 

"Huckleberry," Maya smiles, "It did work. That thing that we were hiding from you that last year in high school? You wanna know what that was?" she smirks. 

Lucas looks up, hopeful. "What?" he smiles. 

Maya takes a deep breath. "It was that I liked you. I just couldn't do anything about it because Riley was in the way." she smiles evilly, "but now that she's completely out of the picture..." Maya's sentence fades away as she leans in closer and closer to Lucas. Lucas is leaning in, too, just not as quickly. Then, their lips crash together, and I gag. MAJOR OW. 

Part 3: get Maya distracted, check. 

Time to start the final part. 

I prepare my golden magic, ready to strike Maya. I position my arms like I'm holding a bow, about to shoot an arrow, but my hands are glowing gold instead of holding an arrow. I aim my shot, and just wait for my cue. 

I watch as Lucas pulls away from their kiss, and smiles at her, and she smiles back. THAT HURT. OKAY. I then see Lucas give me a thumbs up behind Maya's back, so she can't see it. Lucas slowly backs away a couple feet while Maya is still in a daze. I aim, and shoot at Maya. 

But she turns around twice as fast, catches the shot, and throws it at me. It hits my head, causing me to fall down. I bang my head on something on my way down, and black out.
