1-"Maya's Not Dead?"
Riley's POV
She's not dead. Then, where is she? Did she flee to get away from her dad? I'm a...witch? With magical powers? How come no one told me this? Questions spin in my head, as the video shuts off. I sit in the middle of the circle of memories, and look around my room.
I can't tell anyone about this. At all. Ring power. I have promised her. So I'm stuck figuring all of this out myself? No, Maya has to help me through it somehow. I know she will.
I have to get my thoughts together.
Maya's not dead.
She's a witch, who's fleeing for her life.
I'm a witch, too.
Her mom died of cancer.
Basically, the last couple weeks of my life have been a complete lie.
Maya could be anywhere in the U.S. I know that she didn't go across the ocean at least. She would never do that. She knew that I would follow her. And I'm going to follow her. Where ever she went. She had to leave me something that told me where she was. Somewhere.
I watch the video over and over again, but there's nothing left of it. Finally, when I see the sun start to rise, I sigh and sit on my bed. Good thing it's summer break.
I look over at my bay window, and see the letter she wrote to her mom, who never showed up to her funeral. I take a seat at my bay window, and pick up the letter, and gift. If her mom died, than what's in here?
I rip open the letter, and take out a piece of paper.
Riles-
I know that this is a lot to take in, but trust me, it'll get better. Now, you know now that I'm not dead, and that you're a witch. I have fled to a place that I knew you would look, but you would question at first. Look there, Riles. I know that you are going to leave to find me. But, they're going to follow you, Riles. You know that.
But, I'll help you with your powers. I'll teach you how to control them, because, believe me. You're going to need to know how to use them.
Riley, remember that you don't have to do this. I can deal with this myself. You know that, right? Riles, I'm fine by myself. You don't need to help me with this. This is my fight, and I have to face it myself.
-Maya
She knows that I'm coming for her. She knew that I would.
I open the gift that she had for her mom, and inside it was a polaroid. It is Lucas, Farkle, Maya, and I at Topanga's cafe, our old hang out.
I smile, and put it back in the box. I know that I have to go.
I grab a bag, and throw in some clothes, a jacket, an extra pair of tennis shoes, hair ties, my makeup. I know that I probably shouldn't bring it, but you never know when it could be helpful. I also throw in a hairbrush, some toiletries, my wallet, phone charger, and all the money I have ever saved. I throw on a jacket, a beanie, and my nikes. I slip my phone in my back pocket, and head out my dorm after writing a note to Lucas and Farkle.
Now, to find my best friend.
Lucas' POV
After getting ready, I decide to go take Riley out for lunch.
"Bye, Farkle! I'm going to take Riley out." I say, opening the door.
"Bye." I hear from the bathroom. I close the door softly so that I don't wake anyone. I head to Riley's dorm, only to find that the door is wide open. "Riley?" I ask softly as I walk into her room. "Riles?" No answer. After I said her name a couple of times, I find a note on her bed. I take a seat, and read the note.
Lucas-
So, this may not make sense, but I'm running away. I can't tell you why, and I can't tell you where, but I can tell you that I have to go. I don't want to, but I have to. I'm so sorry, I love you with all my heart. I didn't want to leave you, but I have to. I'm going to come back. I don't know when, but I promise that I will. I love you, my prince. With all my heart.
Love,
your princess, Riles
She's...running away? A tear rolls down my cheek, and I reread the letter multiple times, trying to process what I had just read.
"Lucas! You forgot your- Dude, what's wrong?" I see Farkle standing in the doorway, with a sympathetic look on his face.
"Riley, ran away. Somewhere." I say, holding up the letter to Farkle. He walks over to the bed, grabs the letter and gasps.
"Hey, lets take a look around her room. Maybe she left something that could hint us to where she's going." Farkle shrugs.
I nod, and get up to start searching her room. I look on her dresser, in her closet, everywhere and anywhere I can think of. After half an hour, I'm about to give up.
"Uh, Lucas? I think that you should see this." Farkle says. I perk up, and sit next to him on the bay window. He holds up a colored envelope, with the word, 'Mom' on it. It's torn open, and there's a letter inside, along with a polaroid. I take out the letter and read it.
Riles-

-Maya
"Maya's not dead? They're witches? With powers?" Farkle looks at me.
"This can't be true. This is Riley's handwriting." I say, pointing it out. "Maya only writes in cursive." I say as Farkle nods.
"But Riley still went to where ever . We need to find her. She thinks that Maya is alive, and that she has powers. She's going insane because of Maya's death, Farkle. We need to save her before she leaves us forever. But where did she go?" I ask Farkle, looking from the letter to himself.
Then, he lifts up a polaroid.
"Well, lets go."
