THE COUPLE entered Cerebro together, side by side, hand in hand just as they always said they would whenever they had problems to face. Just a few minutes earlier, Charles had finished giving the necessary amount of blood that was needed by his son Jacob to recover. The boy was now in a stable condition and felt a bit better than before.

They then decided that the next problem they'll solve together was Erik's. They had to find him first before the whole world did and even before that, they have to stop him from going on a rampage because of his grief.

Together with them were Raven, Alex, Hank, Valerie, and Moira, who was still kind of gawking at everything she was seeing. Eleanor found this amusing on her part.

"Moira, I'm going to have to ask you to keep this a secret." Charles implored, wheeling forward to the machine in the center of the room.

"I don't even know what this... is."

"It's Cerebro, the new model." Raven answered for her.

Hank punched a few buttons as he activated the machine. "Yeah, I based the color on..." He paused as he turned his gaze to Raven. "It doesn't matter."

Eleanor lightly laughed at their interaction, handing the helmet to Charles. She waved her hand. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry." She coughed. "That was really bad."

The dome soon lit up and brought them into a galaxy-like scenery before them. Eleanor smiled to herself. Cerebro never ceased to astound her with its technology. It was always like she was in outer space whenever she or Charles used it. She reminded herself to commend once again Hank's genius mind for creating such a beautiful invention later.

"What are you doing, Moira?" Valerie asked and they all turned to see that she was holding the CIA agent's arms. Moira was bent over as if she was ready to dodge whatever that was going to hurt her.

Eleanor snickered. "There's no need for you to be frightened, Moira. We're not flying into space." She remarked. She really had no idea why she was being like that with her, but she paid no extra attention to it. There were more pressing matters at hand.

"What are those?"

"Those are all the humans of the world." Charles explained, pertaining to the white figures around them. "And these..." He paused, and the whole dome changed to a red color. "are all the mutants. I'm connected to all of their minds."

Moira once again gawked in awe that Eleanor could almost feel herself rolling her eyes because of this. "The CIA would kill for this."

"I know they would."

Eleanor crossed her arms. "Let's continue hoping they won't. I don't like people taking what is not theirs."

Charles turned his head slightly towards her, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"What?" She snapped.

He stared at her for a moment before returning to his search. "Nothing." He muttered and gave a sigh. "Where are you, Erik?"

As if on cue, the lights surrounding them flickered, zooming on one person's mind and Eleanor knew immediately they had found him. She could feel herself clench her fists and bite her lip in anticipation. What should they be expecting from him?

"Hello, old friend." Charles greeted, his voice then wavering. "I'm sorry. I am so sorry." He apologized, his eyes brimming with tears. "I feel your pain, and your loss."

At this, the brunette placed her hand on Charles' shoulder as support. "What happened to them, it was terribly wrong. But, come back to us. I can help you. We can help you." pleaded the telepath, a tear flowing down his cheek. "Think of your wife, think of your daughter. What would they have wanted?"

They knew it would take a lot more convincing to pull Erik out of his rage, but Eleanor still hoped he would listen, just for once.

A moment later, Charles' entire expression changed like he had seen something he shouldn't and his telepathic waves were raised to a significant level, alerting them all through the machine. "Eleanor, he's not alone."

"What? Who is he with? Charles, talk to me. Who is he with?"

"Oh, my god."

The red lights before them transformed into purple, alarming them. At that, Eleanor dropped to her knees beside him, lightly slapping his cheek to break him out from his trance. "Charles! What's going on? Dammit! Talk to me!"

"Charles! Charles, get out! Charles?" Hank shook his shoulder just as they both saw his eyes change into black, overcoming the whites in them.

"I have never felt power like this before."

"What's going on? What's happening?" Valerie ran forward, checking the machine and the helmet.

"I don't know! Shit!" Eleanor uttered, going into full panic mode. She had never tried to access his mind when it was connected to Cerebro, but she had to now. Shutting her eyes, she raised her hand over to his head, conjuring a small red sphere. She directed it to his temple, linking both of their minds.

Eleanor gasped. She was seeing what Jean envisioned the night before. Eternal burning and death everywhere. She clenched her teeth and winced as she stood in the middle of the earth's destruction. Everything was being torn apart and everyone was burned. The brunette looked at herself. She was still whole and standing, her powers keeping her alive. Strong, harsh winds blew at her, threatening to take her away with them, but her body resisted and fought back. That's when she spotted a tall, blue-greyish skinned mutant in full armor, resembling a god.

A small groan from her side caught her attention and she immediately ran when she saw Charles holding his head, struggling. Eleanor faced the intruder alone, both her palms blazing bright with psionic energy. "Hey!" She yelled. "Leave him alone!"

"Outstanding."

His voice sent chills down her spine for it sounded like imminent death. He raised his hand towards her and felt her mind being possessed. She could feel her powers being amplified as if she could move all the mountains at once. She then decided that she should remove herself from Charles' mind, but realized she was trapped inside. Eleanor hissed as she struggled to move. Whoever this being was, it wanted her and Charles inside.

Angrily, Eleanor hurled several shockwaves at him. "Get out of our minds!" She bellowed, but it was only diverted to the side by the powerful mutant she was standing against.

"You do not understand, my child, for you have been blinded by their lies. It's always the same, and now all this." He moved around, presenting himself in full power. "No more stones. Not more spears. No more slings. No more swords. No more weapons! No more systems! No more! No more superpowers." He declared, his voice booming and soon, Eleanor was thrown into a void.

It was pitch black, but Eleanor could still feel herself. She could still feel her mind being possessed and manipulated. She was in the minds of hundreds of people, manipulating them to do what the intruder wants.

Eleanor then felt sparks touch her skin and she yelled in pain. She heard Charles' scream outside of where she was. Once again, she attempted to break out, but to no avail.

"Charles! Eleanor!"

"Hank, do something!"

"It won't shut down!"

"Eleanor will bury us all down here alive if we don't find a way to stop this!"

She heard all of them from outside. She clenched her teeth and focused all her power to herself. Her eyes then flashed a bright red, illuminating the void space. Tendrils of psionic energy swirled around her, empowering her even further. She fought against the barrier that was keeping her in and felt it break. She struck it multiple times and screamed. With all one final push, she gained control of herself and gasped, falling to her side.

"Eleanor! What's happening?" Raven yelled, but she didn't answer and instead grabbed Valerie's arm that was just near her. "I need you to shield Charles' mind now!" She ordered. "Cut the connection! Severe it!"

Despite her confusion, Valerie followed and shut her eyes, releasing a colorless wave of energy that reached Charles' head. The man before them then gasped, getting himself back before he hissed once again in pain.

"Whoever is in his mind is too strong! He's literally tearing my barriers apart! I don't think I would be able to hold much longer!" declared Valerie as she raised her hand, releasing another wave of energy from herself.

"Alex," Charles croaked, now opening his eyes despite of the pain.

"What?"

"Destroy it!" yelled the man. "Destroy everything! Destroy Cerebro!" Not even hesitating, Alex followed his command, stepping in front if the machine. Charles looked at him one more time as he uttered, "Wreak havoc."

At this, a red beam of energy shot out from his chest, blasting the whole dome. Eleanor kept her grip tight on Charles' shoulder as he screamed and went back inside his mind to protect him from whoever was possessing him. "Valerie! That connection needs to be cut now, dammit!"

"I'm trying!"

Charles continued to cry in pain just as Alex finished destroying Cerebro. The whole dome was now in flames, no longer functional.

"I got it! It's gone!" Valerie declared as she bent over, catching her breath.

Eleanor also felt the mental connection split and she immediately pulled Charles out. He then lost consciousness, his energy drained from his body.

Eleanor stood up from her place. "Get him out of this room NOW!" She bellowed just as Alex and Hank rolled his wheelchair out of the room. Breathing hard, the woman slapped Charles' cheek several times. "Charles! Wake up! Wake up!" She shook him, but he was still left senseless.

"Is he okay?"

"Obviously no!" Eleanor snapped.

And that's when she felt the sudden shift in the air. She glanced behind Charles and saw a purple forcefield appear before them, revealing five mutants dressed in armors. At their center was the mutant she encountered inside Charles' mind and Erik stood beside him. He almost looked the same as the last time she saw him, yet this time, his eyes were burning with rage. They momentarily softened when they landed on Eleanor's before he fixed his gaze once again on Charles.

"Erik?" The brunette took a step back, her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "Why are you with him? What are you doing?"

That question of hers was soon answered when he shot out his hand and magnetically pulled Charles's wheelchair to them. "No!" The brunette ran forward, instantly hurling orbs of energy to them. "Charles!"

Her strikes were proven to be futile as the god-like mutant covered themselves with his forcefield. Valerie ran behind her and conjured an invisible sphere around Charles, attempting to draw him back to them. Yet, Erik's magnetic pull was stronger and he was able to succeed in his goal.

"Take her as well."

The god-like mutant who she assumed was the leader of their group ordered Erik and almost instantly, he drew Eleanor towards them using her metal watch.

"No! Erik, don't you dare!" She shouted and in an effort to break free from his tug, she swiped her arm to the right, conjuring a long red rope. Using it as a whip, she struck the leader in the center, slashing him across the chest. This momentarily distracted Erik and Eleanor was pulled back by Valerie who used a magnetic forcefield to counter Erik's own ferrokinesis.

Alex then ran past them both, curling his fists. Eleanor soon realized what he was about to do and her eyes widened in shock. "Alex! No!"

"Hey! Hey, asshole!"

Smirking victoriously as the wound in his chest healed, the god-like mutant proclaimed, "All will be revealed, my child."

"Alex, stop!"

"No!"

But, it was too late.

The man slid across the floor, kneeling. A beam of red plasma energy bursted out of his chest just as the group that abducted Charles surround themselves with a purple forcefield, teleporting them to somewhere else.

Charles was now gone.

And they would be soon gone too for Alex will cause an explosion that will kill them all.

Except it didn't.

"Wow!"

That was the first thing Eleanor heard as she gazed around the area where she was. Her eyebrows crossed together as she realized she was now standing outside. She spun around to see now the mansion reduced to a rubble to the ground.

"Peter?" Eleanor blinked, tilting her head to the side. She walked up to him and embraced him, realizing he had just saved them from imminent death. "Oh, my god. Where did you come from?" She breathed. "Never mind, just thank you."

"Okay," he replied, unsure. He patted her back softly. "You're welcome."

Thoughts of her children's well-being filled her mind and she grew worried for them. "Oh, my god. My children. Ana! Nathan!" She frantically looked around for her children.

"Nathan! Ana! Where are you?" She shouted, her breath hitching in her throat. Eleanor feared the worst had happened to them since she didn't see or even sense them immediately.

"Jacob!" Valerie ran with her, looking for her son as well.

"Mom! Mom! We're here!" Eleanor heard Nathan call out. She rushed towards the location of their voice and almost cried in relief when she saw them together with Jacob.

She and Valerie rushed to them all, embracing their own children. "Oh, my god. Oh, my god. Are you two okay? Were-were the two of you hurt?"

The twins shook their heads. "We're fine! We're alright, mom! We were able to avoid the explosion with Jacob." explained Nathan as he pointed to Valerie's son. "Are you?"

"Yes, yes! I'm okay! Thank god, you two are okay." She brushed their hair back. "How's Jacob, Val?" Eleanor asked Valerie then, pertaining to her son.

"He's fine too."

"Wait, where's dad, mom?" Anastasia searched for him, levitating in the air. "I don't see him, I-I can't feel him. Nathan, do you?"

Eleanor held her daughter's hand and tugged her down. "He's somewhere, baby. But we'll get him back."

"He arrived here, didn't he? I sensed him." Nathan asserted, narrowing his eyes among the crowd of students as if he were searching for a culprit.

Their attention was soon turned when helicopters flooded their area. Eleanor stood up, abruptly holding her children's hands in hers. "Please remain calm. Medical assistance is on the way. Please remain calm." announced a soldier from the choppers.

Eleanor gasped when she recognized one of the soldiers getting down from the aircraft. It was Major Stryker, the man who she once saw in Logan's mind. The man who was supposed to experiment him.

Eleanor raised her arms, waving them to call their attention. "They're not here to help us! They're not here to help us!" She then created two bright orbs above her palms, ready to attack.

Yet before she could even move her hand, a shockwave occurred, rendering them all unconscious.
