21. Another Offering
•Kill The Children•
"Happy Fête des Bénêdictions." The lead drummer announced after everyone quieted down and looked over at them in confusion. Aphrena felt uneasy about them and what they said next didn't help at all. "We have a message for all of you from Marcel Gerard."
In one quick motion, all the drummers took out razors and slit their wrist open. The vampires in the room began to get antsy and vamp out at the smell of blood. Aphrena had more control seeing as her wolf side had more dominance then her vampire side.
Elijah looked around in panic for the mortals in the room. "Control yourselves! This is a vulgar trick. We do not violate our agreement."
The lights suddenly go out, and the vampires start feeding on anything living. Aphrena looks around panic and screams out along with the other when she feels someone bite into her neck. She struggled to get free and eventually used her powers to give the woman a migraine. The woman backs up in the dark screaming in pain as blood spills from her lips.
Feeling tired and drained Aphrena snapped the woman's neck and fell down to her butt on the ground holding her neck as she stared into the darkness.
Suddenly, the lights switch back on and Aphrena looks around to see there are dozens of dead/injured humans lying on the ground. She noticed on the walls, someone had written, 'THERE WILL BE NO PEACE' on the wall.
"Hey! Elijah?" Aphrena called out as she searched desperately for her mate with her eyes.
Hearing her voice calmed his nerves and he scanned over everybody to find her. His heart sank when he saw her sitting on the ground, blood running down her neck and creating a darker red stain on her dress.
"Aphrena. It's okay. It's all right. I've got you." He picks her up and helps her out of the party.

Marcel and Thierry are -stupidly- hanging out outside of Marcel's hangout across the river, where they're recapping the night's events. "Blood on the walls. Pile of bodies. All in all, I'd say message received," Thierry reports.
Marcel's main concern was that Thierry got Davina out before the chaos erupted, but apparently, that was also part of the reason why Josh was there in the first place--to get Davina out, as well as the other Harvest girls, who fall under Marcel's "No Hurting Kids" rule.
"That was just the warning shot," Marcel insists. "Now, we double down."
Before they can continue talking Elijah's voice bellows, "Marcel!" He lunges toward them and tackles Thierry to the ground before throwing him against the brick building. Then, he speeds over to Marcel so that he can look at him, face-to-face.
"I warned you," Elijah growls, as he pushes Marcel up against the wall. "And yet, still you return to the French Quarter."
Marcel tells Elijah to just kill him but then adds that if he does, he'll never know what Klaus has got planned with Genevieve.
"Oh, whatever shall I do?" Elijah quips theatrically. "I suppose I can just ask him."
Marcel then spills the beans on all the secret meetings with the werewolves and then pokes the bear even more by snarking that Klaus won't tell him anything once he knows Elijah killed him.
Nearby, Thierry picks himself off the ground to prepare to defend Marcel, if necessary.
Elijah sneers, "Do you not know me?" He shoves his fist into Marcel's chest to grab his heart.
Thierry jumps in to protect him, but Elijah just punches through Thierry's sternum to grab his heart in his other hand. "For your violation," Elijah states, as he rips Thierry's heart from his chest, killing him instantly.
He holds Thierry's heart right in front of Marcel's face and reminds him that he lives or dies according to Elijah's will.
When Elijah leaves, Marcel falls on his knees by Thierry's body and starts to cry over the death of his close friend.

Hayley had decided after tonight's events to stay out in the Bayou. She didn't know for how long but she was shaken up and didn't feel safe. She also wanted to be with her sister and currently, Aphrena was leaning more towards staying here more often after the events of tonight.
Currently, Aphrena stood lost in thoughts as Hayley paced around outside by a fire as she talks to Jackson.
"I've learned my lesson," Hayley admits. "At first, I was against your plan. I thought that we should just live with Elijah's treaty, but after that party, those innocent people. There will never be peace. The weak will always be at the mercy of whoever is calling the shots."
"It's survival of the fittest. We need to protect ourselves. And we need to protect each other."
"We need to use Klaus' help while he's still willing to give it. But, Jackson?" Aphrena asks looking up at him. "From now on, you have to tell us everything," Aphrena told him.
"Always, Aphrena."

Music plays as the werewolves all hang out together outside around a bonfire. Aphrena stood with Jackson by her side as she talked to the younger werewolves.
A little ways away, Elijah and Eve are standing together, watching the Crescents laugh and talk and drink. "You don't need to keep coming out," Eve assures Elijah with a smile. "I'd tell you if something was wrong. But, she's doing okay. The girl has a natural gift for leading. She surprised everyone."
Elijah smiles, and watches as Aphrena feels the baby kick, and grabs Jackson's hand to feel it as he corrects her. "Not everyone."
Eve can tell that Elijah is totally in love with her, and kindly invites him to come join them, if he wants, "Do you want to join us?"
But Elijah politely declines.
"What I want is for that girl to be undeniably happy." He admitted. Still looking at his mate, he told Eve, "Don't tell her I was here." Then Elijah disappears before Eve could say anything.
Aphrena looked over to where he once stood and smiled lightly. The fire danced across her brown eyes as she turned back to Jackson smiling even wider than before.
"What?" He asks smiling at the girl.
"Nothing. Just happy to have you guys." He placed his arm around her shoulder and pulled her closer.
"Good. I'm glad."

The coven has gathered to discuss Genevieve's fate.
"You failed us," Monique said with a scowl.
"I told you. It will take time," Genevieve said sounding pathetically desperate to continue living.
"Do you think the ancestors care about your excuses?" The harvest witch said with an angry tone. "The vampires attacked us. We can't retaliate until we possess our full strength. Your sacrifice is the final step." She told her not caring about her living or dying.
Monique holds out the Harvest athame, and Genevieve begins gasping due to Monique's spell. Before Monique can deliver the final blow to Genevieve, she's suddenly channeled by the ancestors again in order to deliver a message to the coven.
Monique in a trance chants, "Nous concedumus sa vie a Genevieve. Si elle hecatage a filia de Mikaelson."
Genevieve gasps. "What are they saying?"
"They told me to let you live. But in exchange, they want another offering. One of their choosing." She tells the older witch with an evil twisted smile.
"Tell me." The redhead pleads. "Whatever it is they want, I will make sure they get it. I swear it."
"The ancestors want us to kill Klaus and Elijah's children," Monique admits.
Genevieve's eyes widen and she looks shocked and afraid.

"Hey, Elijah. I know you must be sleeping right now and that's probably what I should be doing as well." Aphrena glanced down at her large belly and smiled. "But I wanted to say I love you and we're safe. I know you're doing what you can to make the city a better place for our kids, so thank you. And no matter how bad things get at least you tried." She headed towards her bed and sat down. "I hope to see you soon. Bye."
She laid down in bed and gazed at the moon as it shined down on her. She finally fell asleep in peace.
It's short but I did it.
I'm not ready for the next few chapters...poor Rena and Hayley.
