Kaili Akana brings cookies.

Candice welcomed Kaili into her apartment, locking the door firmly behind her to keep the cold night air out. Even though Kaili didn't feel it, Candice certainly did.

"Hi tiny." Kaili greeted, knowing the nickname would annoy Candice.

She's adorable when she's annoyed. Well, she's adorable most of the time but still.

Sure enough, Candice gave Kaili a weak little push and drew her plump lips up into a slight pout. "I'm not that small."

"Sure you aren't." Kaili conceded even though Candice, at 5'3, was definitely that small, even smaller than most other Fairies.

"How's your day been?" Candice asked as Kaili walked further into her apartment and made herself at home on her couch. For a College freshman, Candice's apartment was surprisingly large, mostly because she shared it with three other people and her parents were filthy rich. Not that you could tell by looking at her, since her wardrobe was almost utterly devoid of designer brands and consisted mostly of t-shirts with quotes or jokes printed on them, jeans with strategically placed holes that looked like they'd seen better days and beat up converses and boots, all of which were several sizes too big for her.

"Good. Tests are almost over." She answered and flopped down on to the couch, right next to Kaili. As she did her charm bracelet, which was usually the only piece of jewellery she wore, jingled. Candice was always flopping about, she wasn't exactly the graceful type and seemed more inclined to let gravity do the work for her. "How's the restaurant?"

"Exhausting but kind of satisfying, speaking of which I got something for you." Kaili fished out a blue and black box from her handbag and held it out to Candice. "Triple chocolate cookies, your favourite."

Candice squealed, mouth breaking out into a broad smile, her pearly white teeth contrasting sharply against her dark brown skin. "Thank you Kyojin." She pressed a kiss to Kaili's cheek and grabbed the box.

"You're not even going to offer me one?" Kaili teased as she watched her girlfriend scarf down several cookies.

"You own a restaurant Kaili, you can get some whenever you like."

"You only love me for my cooking." Kaili jokingly accused, crossing her arms like she was actually upset.

"Only a little bit."

Ashley needed a job. Ethan wanted him to take a break; after all, he only got a new roof over his head yesterday, but Ashley wasn't used to relaxing or doing... nothing with his time, so he was already a little antsy. However, Ethan managed to convince him to just rest.

Ashley sat in the kitchen, talking to Ethan when he was in the kitchen and to the other waiters and chefs when he wasn't, not that that happened often. Ashley mostly just hung around and did his best to not get in people's way.

Ethan ducked into the kitchen, checking a pan-fried salmon he left in Olivia, the Poissonnier's or the person in charge of seafood, care before darting over to Ashley.

"Hey, the lunch rush is starting to slow down. Want to go out?"

Ashley nodded, hopping off the counter and onto his feet. "Sure."

Ashley agreed to stay on the pullout couch tonight, curling up under a blanket. He was exhausted after their day out, so didn't put up much of a fight when Ethan suggested it. Besides, he was slowly starting to trust Ethan little by little, and the couch was much more comfortable than the cold tiled counter.

"Are you alright?" Ethan asked Ashley as he began to doze off. He was still in his apron since the store wouldn't close for two more hours and was just checking in on Ashley.

"Mhmm," Ashley mumbled into his pillow before rolling over to glance up at Ethan sleepily. "Thank you, for everything."

"Your welcome." Ethan planted a kiss on Ashley's cheek before ducking out of the apartment entirely with a hasty 'Goodnight'.

Ashley touched his cheek, where he could still feel Ethan's lips against his skin. Ashley lay back down and smiled into his pillow before drifting into the most peacefully sleep he had in months.
