I woke up to my sister blowing her blow horn in my ear, NOT PLESANT! I jolted, hit my head on the top of our bunk bed and fell out head first. I sleep on the bottom bunk in case you didn't figure that out yet. What a drag! I jumped up to my feet. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR KATSUMI?!" I yelled in anger.

"You wouldn't wake up any OTHER way so I had no choice. Ready to go? It's almost time for Mephisto to get here..." I sighed then nodded "good, then let's go, And I got you the boy's uniform cause I know you hate skirts and I'd NEVER hear the end of it. So you're welcome." I smiled.

'BEST SISTER EVER!!!!'I thought to myself."Thanks Katsu!" She smiled.

"No prob sis. Now let's go!" I grabbed my sword, Gitai no ken then we raced outside and waited for Chu-- err um Maphisto to show up in his limo... oh god that's right! HE HAS A DANM PINK LIMMO! DANM IT ALL!!!!!! I HATE pink too! I groaned. Why’d I have to ride in a stupid pink limousine?! Yeah, I’ll live it down but it’ll take a while. My foot began to tap rapidly. I saw Mephisto’s girly limo and sighed. He stepped out.

“HELLO KIDDOS!! It has been SO long~!!!!” he looked as goofy as ever. I smirked, put a right hand in my pocket then made a peace sign with the other.

“Sup, Mephisto!” Katsumi smacked the back of my head. “OW~!!”

“Hi Mephisto good to see you again.” Katsumi smiled as Mephisto let us in his limo. He gave us our uniforms and gave us some privacy as we changed. I sighed then put on my slightly burned hat and tightened the tie to my uniform.

“Honestly Kari, your SUCH a boy!” Mephisto chuckled lightly. “Well I guess that’s just you. Ah~ we’re almost there.” Katsumi and I looked out the window at the island sized school!

“WHOA~!! No wonder only rich and talented kids can get in! It’s the size of an ISLAND!!!!” I looked at it in awe and didn’t look away.

“And I meant to say earlier but I’m sorry I’m late. I had to pick someone else up for school. Twins like you actually except they are a year older then you.” Mephisto smiled. “I’m sure you all will get to know each other quite well.” I glanced at him then back to the school.

“This is gonna be AWESOME~!!” I grinned. “Oh hey Mephisto, um I was wondering if you--“

“If we had an Exorcist school? What do you think I am?! Of COURSE we do~!!” he smiled again “and those twins I told you about will be there as well so you will meet then.” He glanced out. “Here we are~” we stepped out. “Now you have a week of from NORMAL school-“he gave me a key and tried to give one to Katsu but she turned it down.

“Sorry I do not want to be an exorcist.” He shrugged.

“Ok then. Now Kari do NOT lose this key ok?! It is how you’ll get to your exorcist class. Now class starts at six o-clock and do try not to be tardy.” He showed us to our dorm. It was next to this old abandoned one which was ok I guess. At least I had a spot to train and stuff! I smirked at the thought. Then I remembered mom and dad and how good THEY were at being exorcists. Always training to get better, they said they’d be a paladin and I would all ways try to train with them but they said.” We don’t think you’re gonna like it Kari. So go be yourself ok?” Then they would smile and shoo I back outside to play with Katsumi. I shook the thought out and walked to the room I was staying in.

“ALL RIGHT!!” I yelped with glee. “I GET MY OWN ROOM! SWEET!!” I plopped on my bed with my stuff still in my bag. I giggled and got up after a while to put up my stuff. I noticed it was five forty-five so I got my key, tossed Gitai no ken over my shoulder, went and opened the door with the key Mephisto gave me. My eyes widened. “Whoa~!” a white dog, I think it was a schnauzer, tugged at my pant leg and lead me to a door.

“This is your class room Kari.” again I was in shock. The dog looked at me. “What? It’s me, Mephisto.” I exhaled.

“Oh ok~!” I opened the door and walked in and took the empty seat away from the others in the back. I sat down and put my chin on the desk then sighed. “Oh boy…” I remembered something from about twelve years ago. Back at home before the fire, mom and dad told me and Katsumi to go play in the field so they could practice and they wanted us to be safe because it was a new trick so they didn’t know what would happen. We nodded and grabbed our toys and went outside like nothing could go wrong. We played almost the whole day away. When we went home we saw that a demon was attacking our parents who were put under some sort of sleep spell. I growled. Blood red flames covered my body and my eyes had a small amount of blue. I had small black horns, a white lion like tail, I grew fangs, claws, my ears grew more pointed and were longer, and my pupils became slits. I roared and attacked the demon about kill my parents. “GET AWAY FROM THEM~!!” I yelled and attacked the demon over and over.

“You’re the one.” He said then disappeared. I sighed, went back to normal and fell to my knees exhausted. I never remembered that until now. I groaned. “Guess I really am different.”I leaned back in my chair.

“Look at her? Why’s she wearing the BOY’S uniform?!” I heard a girl with purple hair. “That girl MUST be sick in the head to wear that!” she and girl with brown hair who was sitting next to her laughed to themselves. They were in the front of the room but I heard them so clearly it was like I was next to them. I groaned.

“She must be a tom-boy to wear a boy’s uniform.” I heard the boy with pink hair. He sat next to a bald guy with glasses and a guy with brown hair that had a blond streak down the center. The guy with the blue-black hair said nothing. But he did glance back at me curious about what everyone was talking about. I just tuned them out and focused on my memories and such. I sighed. “This is gonna be just like school back home. Isn’t it.” I growled. “Exact reason I dropped out after junior high.”I buried my face in my arms and thought back to then. I was about twelve when it happened. This guy kept on picking fights with defenseless creatures so I stepped in. “HEY STOP THAT! PICK ON SOMEONE WHO CAN DEFEND THEM SELVES! YOU COWARD!!!” I never heard or felt the end of it from that guy. Every day at school I got taunted like “hey look it’s the animal defender! Whattcha gonna do?! Go defend some rats?!” they all laughed. I’d lose my temper and lash out, throwing vases and chairs, breaking windows and glass, hurting others and almost sending someone to the ER. I made a mess of the school in only ten minutes flat. Eventually I had pushed everyone away. No one dared to come near me. The kids would say things in the halls, during class, or even behind my back when they knew I could hear. Stuff like: “hey look its Kari Himura. The monster.” Or “I bet you she killed her own parents and that’s why we never see them come to open house.” I was kicked out of all the clubs and banned from the library. I didn’t do anything to try and scare anyone after. But I guess I left mental scars. I tried to ask this one kid for help. “Hey… um could you---“he ran away before I could finish my sentence. “GET AWAY MONSTER!” is what he called out while he ran away like his life depended on this one sprint. “Geez thanks a bunch jerk.” I kicked a can on the floor. I sighed. “Geez that was tough.” I never wanted to remember THAT~!

“Good morning class.” I heard a voice and a teenage boy with brown hair and glasses walked in. “my name is Yukio Okumura and I will be your teacher.” He smiled and glanced around the class. He looked at me and gestured me to sit closer. I shook my head. Everyone stared at me. I put my head down trying to ignore them. He sighed. “Come on.” I groaned

“F-fine.” I moved one, two, three desks forward before he was satisfied.

“Alright now let’s begin with learning your names. Starting with you.” He pointed to the guy with blue-black hair. He groaned and stood up.

“I am Rin Okumura.” He sat back down and it continued down the aisle to Rin’s left. The girl with the purple hair stood.

“Izumo Kamiki.” she sat back down and the girl with the brown hair next to her stood.

“Noriko Paku, hi.” She smiled then sat. The guy that looked like a chicken because of his brown hair with blond streak down the center stood up.

“Ryūji Suguro.” He sat and the bald kid with glasses stood up.

“Hello I am Konekomaru Miwa.”He sat and the guy with pink hair stood up.

“Renzō Shima here~! Nice to meet you!” he sat then I stood.

“K-Kari Himura… n-nice to meet you.” Everyone stared. Had those kids from middle school started a rumor that was now global?!

“Whoa~! Monster Himura!” called Ryūji in amazement. What?! That danm rumor had gone global!

“Aw man~!” Rin looked like he was about to explode. I sat back down a little weirded out by this whole thing. After class Yukio called me to stay afterwards to speak with him.

“Kari, I would like you to be social and at least TRY to make friends ok?” I sighed.

“Y-yes sir, I’ll do my best!” I smiled then went outside to this fountain where everyone was hanging out until normal school started. I groaned. ‘Do I really have to do this?!’ I sighed.‘Guess so…’ I walked up to Rin and started to stutter.

“W-w-w-would y-you b-b-b-be my-my friend?” my eyes were closed tight the whole time and when I finally finished I looked up at him. He looked shocked.

“I guess. I mean why not?”He smiled while his answer sunk in. my eyes widened and I smiled like I never before.

“Really?! You mean it? I-I never had a friend before!” I was so happy! I was just relived that I could count on someone OTHER than Katsumi for once. “Th-thank you so much~!” Rin smiled

“No problem.” He got up and walked me home.

“You know you made my day so thank you very much!" He smiled and rubbed the back of his head.

“Ah~ it was nothing.” He walked in with me and to my room and then we said our good-byes and I went and plopped down on my bed. I heard a knock at my door.

“It’s open. Come on in!” Katsumi came in.

“Hi sis! How was your first day of Exorcist school?”  I smiled and told her about my day and that I made a friend. “oh wow Kari! That’s WONDERFUL!!!” Katsumi gave me a hug. “sleep well ok?” I smiled and nodded.

“I will! Night!”

“Night sis” Katsumi left and I thought about what friends did. Some keep secrets which I plan on doing! I still don’t trust Rin enough to tell him about my life before True cross academy. I sighed and looked up at the ceiling and slowly drifted to sleep.
