Chapter 92
It's a lazy Sunday. For the past three hours, Kongpob had made multiple attempts for his morning jog, but had failed miserably. More than half of his body was covered by Arthit. Even their legs were tangled. He has tried to roll Arthit over, but his boyfriend has him in a death grip. If it weren't for the fact that they really tired themselves out last night, there's no way he would have gotten any sleep like this.
Now, if Kongpob was to be completely honest, he really prefers to sleep without any contact. He has always slept alone. His body tends to run hot, that's why he likes to sleep nude. Sharing a bed with Arthit has been quite an adjustment for him. Arthit likes to cuddle, and his body runs colder than Kongpob's. Even though Arthit is fully clothed in pajamas, he still seeked the heat given off by his boyfriend's body.
Usually, they would fall asleep on their own side of the bed, but somehow Kongpob would wake up in the morning with a koala wrapped around him. He's not really complaining though. Not even when Arthit drools on his chest or shoulder. He found it cute, and amusing. Yes, he knows he is whipped, and he is no longer fighting that fact.
Today is also one of those koala days, and usually, Kongpob would be able to slip out of Arthit's grip to go about with his morning workout. However, that was not the case this morning. Arthit wasn't hugging him from the side like usual. Today, more than half his body is on top of Kongpob. Any movement would surely wake up Arthit, so Kongpob had no choice but to go back to sleep.
It was late into the morning when Kongpob's stomach finally protested. An angry growl came with a little rumbling vibration. And just like that Arthit immediately got up, and off his boyfriend.
Kongpob smiles seeing Arthit's sleepy and grumpy face with a little pout. Usually he is up before Arthit wakes, so Arthit doesn't see him naked the first thing in the morning. He watched as Arthit's blush made its way to his cheeks when he noticed his nakedness. Kongpob has no idea why he is still affected by him this way. But he finds it all too cute.
"Kongpob, what time is it?" He asked while rubbing his sleepy eyes looking the other way.
Kongpob turned to look at the clock before answering. "It's almost eleven."
"What? Why did you let me sleep so long? Your stomach is angry with me now." Arthit pouted before climbing out of bed. He was actually upset that they wasted their time sleeping instead of doing other things. He was really looking forward to today.
Popeye enthusiastically bounced up and down hearing both men finally awake. Kongpob smiled, and picked up Popeye to go to the bathroom with them.
While Arthit showered, Kongpob brushed and shaved. And when Arthit came out to brush, Kongpob stepped into shower. With a little kiss here, and a little butt squeeze there, they got ready in record time.
The two men headed to Nina's for lunch instead of breakfast with Popeye in tow. They needed to bring Popeye out for grooming and pet supplies shopping later anyway. They might as well let all the waitresses fawn all over their pup, and spoil him a little bit. Arthit still finds it odd how the once scared, and shy Popeye has turned into an attention hogging little mutt. A matter of fact, he even hogs Kongpob's attention every chance he gets. The second Kongpob sits down on the sofa, he jumps into his lap before Arthit can even attempt to lay down. Kongpob only chuckles whenever he sees Arthit give poor Popeye the stink eye.
When they got to Nina's, the waitresses came running as expected. Everyone of them wanted to hold Popeye. And Arthit is very pleased that after ten months of seeing him and Kongpob together, the waitresses no longer openly flirted with Kongpob. Now, if only they would stop openly ogling Kongpob, that would be even better. But that's not likely to happen anytime soon. Everyone just loves staring at his boyfriend, and he can't really blame them. He loves to stare at his boyfriend too. Especially when he is wearing his glasses like he did for that magazine he was recently featured in.
The two men went to sit at their regular table, and placed their usual orders. They were so caught up flirting and playing with Popeye that they didn't notice right away something was off. Like something was missing. Then two bites into his french toast, Kongpob suddenly puts down his fork. "Where's Nina?"
Arthit who was midway stuffing a sunny side up egg into his mouth immediately looked up at Kongpob. The egg yolk broke hanging from his mouth, and dripped down the corner of his chin. "Uh, I don't know." He said, wiping the mess with a napkin. He looked around the restaurant, and chased his food down with a sip of coffee. "I don't see her around."
Kongpob creased his brows, and looked around as well. There was no sign of his bubbly aunt. Kongpob quickly flagged one of the waitresses down. "Pun Pun, where's Nina?"
"Oh, boss lady didn't come in today. She hasn't come in for the past two days already." Pun Pun said, juggling three heavy plates.
"Do you know why she's not here? Is she sick?" Kongpob asked with a frown.
"Umm, I'm not sure. She only told us to open and close on our own." Pun Pun was starting to struggle with the weight of the plates.
"Okay, thanks. I'll just call her." Kongpob smiled, and Pun Pun quickly scurried away with the plates.
Kongpob quickly pulled out his phone. It wasn't like Nina to not be here on the weekends. She might skip a day or two on the weekdays, but usually not the weekends unless she is sick, or something really important comes up.
Arthit watched Kongpob intently making the call. He can't believe they didn't notice Nina was missing until now. Nina usually would have jumped them as soon as they stepped inside the premises. How could they have missed that?
"Hey Nina....hold on, I can't understand you......Huh? Why are you crying?.......uh, just wait for me. I'll come over. Okay....if you don't stop crying, your eyes are going to be really puffy and red. Like you're allergic to shrimp. No, I'm not being mean. You will look ugly. Just wait for me. Bye." Kongpob ended the call shaking his head.
"Is she okay? Why is she crying?" Arthit asked anxiously.
"I really don't know. She was crying too much. I couldn't understand her. I'm going to have to go see her after this to find out what is wrong. Do you want to come with me? I know we were planning to just relax, and hangout with Popeye, but I need to check on Nina. I'm sorry."
"You don't have to apologize. I understand completely. You definitely should go check on her, but it's probably better that you two talk alone. She hasn't had any alone time with you since I came along. I mean, you two used to spend this time together catching up every week. So, I'm sure she misses you. I'll take Popeye to the groomer's appointment. His nails are getting really long, and we are running low on his treats. Let's just meet up by dinner time at home. I'll make something you like." Arthit said while petting Popeye.
Kongpob was a little disappointed, but he agrees that it's probably better that he goes alone. Nina would probably be more comfortable to open up to him when he's alone. It's really unlike his aunt to cry like this unless it's concerning him, or his grandparents. However, he is still a little sad that he won't be able to spend more time with Arthit and Popeye. This month, Arthit had traveled for two weeks with his mother for a project in Sydney. And then two days after Arthit's return, he himself had to travel for two weeks to Paris and Milan. Both of them were too tied down with work to tag along with the other. So, it's like they have only spent two days out of a whole month together. He literally just came back on Friday. So yeah, he is a little bummed he can't just lay around with Arthit like he planned.
Arthit really hopes Nina is okay. She has become almost like an older sister to him. Nina is a bit dramatic at times, but she's genuine. When Kongpob went to Paris for fashion week with Davika, she tagged along just to keep an eye on Davika. Arthit thought it was highly unnecessary, and he would never admit that he was glad to get Nina's daily report of their activities. However, he really does thinks Nina and Kongpob need some time together too. Also, Arthit isn't comfortable with going to the Ruangroj resident yet. Even though he had met Kongpob's grandparents at the hospital a few months ago, he still wasn't sure how they felt about their relationship. Kongpob's grandparents have a very stoic front that's hard to read. Arthit is just glad they didn't downright reject him at the hospital.
They had quickly finished eating so they could quickly get on with the matter.
"Kongpob, I can just take a taxi and go to the groomer's on my own. You don't have to drive me. It's in the opposite direction." Arthit said holding Popeye in his arms coming out of the restaurant.
"No, Luke is coming to drive you. You know I won't let you go on your own, and the bodyguard that's tailing us right now can't split in two."
Arthit nodded. He didn't mind being with Luke, and he doesn't even know why he said he would go on his own. As if, he wasn't freaked out the last time when a fired employee ran into his office with a knife threatening to kill himself if he didn't hire him back. Arthit can still see the blood that trickled down the man's neck. Luckily, Knot knocked the guy out from behind just in time before things escalated, and the man was saved. Arthit had nightmares for weeks. Now, there's always a security guard stationed at their office. Sonya insisted it's for the safety of everyone in the office.
"Isn't it his day off?" Arthit suddenly remembered it Sunday. Both Luke and Thak are off today.
"It is, but the security team texted back saying he was coming. I guess he decided to work today. Luke has been kind of off lately. I don't know what is going on with him." Kongpob said, but deep down he knows there's usually only two things that bother men, money and love. He doesn't know which is worse, and he's in no position to ask.
Kongpob is not close to Luke like he is to Thak. Even though Luke spends a lot of time around him, their relationship remains very professional. That's not to say that he doesn't care for the man, but they just don't click that way. However, he can tell Arthit gets along with Luke quite well. He has noticed them joking around, or teasing each other a few times. It may not seem like much to people who don't know them, but for Luke and Arthit, it's huge. Luke is a man of few words. He probably says less than fifty words a day. He lives alone, and mostly works alone. He doesn't say anything that's not absolutely necessary. Arthit on the other hand has no problem talking, but other than his gang of old friends, he doesn't socialize much. At least not on a personal level. So, it's interesting to see those two men talk.
Kongpob waited with Arthit until Luke came to swoop his boyfriend away. Upon seeing Luke's car arrive, Kongpob wanted to to give Arthit a kiss, but he knew Arthit didn't like PDA, so he just gave him a quick side hug. Arthit promised to make a nice dinner tonight before climbing into Luke's car, and waved him goodbye. With a long face, Kongpob drove off in the opposite direction. His aunt better have a good reason for all this drama.

AN: Hi Sweets! That's really all I wanted to say.
So, here's a glimpse of their lives now as a busy power couple. Also, a little calm and fluff before more happens. I swear I'm trying to wrap this up, but more keep coming. 🤦🏻♀️
