Chapter 66
"So you've checked on his work history and credentials. What do you think?" Kongpob asked M.
"This Knot guy is very hard working. He has barely taken a vacation in the past six years. My sources say he has played a key role in many of his company's projects. However, I've noticed his salary is well below industry average, and he hasn't been promoted in the last four years despite solid performance. I'm surprised that a guy of his caliber hasn't looked for a more prestigious company."
Kongpob studies the resume in his hand. "I'm not familiar with Unique Engineer Ltd. What kind of projects have they done?"
"It's actually a pretty small company. They've mostly done small scale projects such as local parks and small property developments. You wouldn't know them. So what exactly did you want with this information?" M said crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned back in his chair across from Kongpob.
"Hmm....give Tony at Maenya Engineers a call. See if they are looking to hire another engineer. Tell him I recommend Knot Ittikorn." Kongpob says as he hands Knot's file back to M.
M slyly eyes his best friend. "Kong, are you interested in another man already?"
Kongpob grabs a handful of pens from the pen holder, and throws them at M, and the latter blocks them with Knot's folder.
"Hey! It's a fair assumption. You've never meddled in other people's business before." M puts the folder down seeing the pen holder was now empty.
"He is Arthit's best friend, and he is going through some tough times. I'm just trying to help if I can. I don't want Arthit to worry about him."
M smiled. His best friend is a goner.
"So, why don't I call Dan from BKK Engineers? I'm sure I can pull some strings. That way your boyfriend and his best friend can work together. I'm brilliant, aren't I?" M smiled smugly.
"No. I don't want Arthit, or Knot to know I'm involved in anyway. I don't want them to feel like they owe me anything. And I definitely don't want Knot to think I take pity on him. Besides, I'm only recommending Knot to Maenya, I'm not telling them they have to hire him."
"Well, a recommendation from you is pretty much an order, don't you think?" M raised an eyebrow at Kongpob.
"Just do it, would you? And make sure they don't tell Knot that I recommended him." Kongpob turned to focus on his computer, clearly dismissing M. So, M shook his head, and got to work.
Kongpob knows that what M said is true. He knows Maenya will most likely hire Knot if he recommends him. They are actually directly hired by Suth Enterprise for the SuSus Project, so they will most likely try to please him. While Arthit's company is only subcontracted by their contractor. But the main goal is to help Knot, and that's all that matters.
Now, back to what's important. Nina pointed it out to him last week that Arthit and his one month anniversary was coming up. Being so busy, he didn't even keep track of such things. However, when he saw how Arthit shyly smiled about it, he knew he should do something to celebrate it. Since Kongpob hasn't dated for so long, he didn't know what date should be considered their first. So he called Nina to ask if their first date in Kobe counted, or the day Arthit agreed to be his boyfriend counted.
Nina had a field day laughing at how cute and sweet Kongpob was being. After much teasing, Kongpob hung up on his annoying aunt.
Kongpob wanted to do something fun, yet somewhat romantic with Arthit. So he made a few calls, and got everything arranged.
He has to travel for work next week, so it would be nice to spend some time with Arthit before going too. He had pushed the meeting in Shanghai as far as possible already. He was actually even hoping that he can just send M to Shanghai, but the CEO of HWA Industries invited him for a golf outing. So, he can't get out of that unless he wants to come across as disinterested in their future partnerships.
Kongpob has yet to tell Arthit about his upcoming travel plans since he was hoping to get out of it. He knows Arthit will be fine with it, but he is still reluctant to leave him, especially since he knows that Ian guy is pestering Arthit. He asked Luke to keep an eye out for Ian.
~~~~~~
Chup on the forehead. Chup Chup on each eye. Chup on the nose.
Kongpob smirks looking down at Arthit feigning sleep while ever so slightly puckering his lips in anticipation of his kiss on the lips. Kongpob moves back further pretending to get out of bed.
Sensing Kongpob leaving him, Arthit instantly opened his eyes to see Kongpob's megawatt smile with his sexy messy hair. Arthit frowned and reached his hands up to pull Kongpob's face to his.
"Come here you tease! Ngmmm...." Arthit hooked his right arm around Kongpob's neck to keep the latter from escaping. After they shared a sweet kiss, Arthit released Kongpob's lips.
"Good morning Tiger." Kongpob said as he pecked Arthit one more time before getting up, and winced a little.
"Morning." Arthit blushes thinking of their activities from last night. He doesn't think Kongpob should ride any of the motorbikes today.
"Let's get up." Kongpob gets up stretching his long limbs, rolling his neck in his perfect nakedness. He turns around, and catches Arthit ogling him with his mouth open.
"Not sleepy anymore, right?" Kongpob smirked.
Arthit shook his head, and turned to look at the clock. It's only 7 am. What the heck? Usually Kongpob would let him sleep in a little more while he went out for his morning jog since it's the weekend.
"Why did you wake me up so early?" Arthit pouted, and pulled the covers over his head.
"Come on, I have a surprise for you." Kongpob said as he walked into the bathroom.
Arthit immediately jumped out of bed, and went into the bathroom too.
"Kongpob, where are we going? Nina's is that way." Arthit points to the right.
"Just sit back, and relax." Kongpob shifted his gear up to speed up.
"Why are we going to the office?" Arthit frowned. He had to work overtime everyday for the past week just so he wouldn't have to work over the weekend. "You should have at least told me we were coming to the office. I didn't bring my laptop."
"I promise it won't take long. Okay?" Kongpob said as he got out of the car.
"Fine." Arthit was a little disappointed, but he is not too bothered. At least he can still spend the whole day with Kongpob.
They took the executive elevator. Arthit was surprised that they weren't getting off on the 36th floor where Kongpob's office is. When they reached the 40th floor, Arthit thought for a moment that they were going to the spare bedroom on that floor. Did Kongpob want to christen that room? Arthit's imagination starts running wild. Holding Kongpob's hand, he quietly followed Kongpob with a grin.
CLICK.
Arthit finally looked up as they just excited the floor to the stairway in the back.
Arthit pulled on Kongpob's hand. "Where are we going Kongpob?"
"Upstairs to the rooftop. Come on. It's only one flight of stairs." Kongpob said as he pulled Arthit along.
And of course, there was a helicopter waiting for them.
"Kongpob! Where are we going?" Arthit asked nervously. Although it's not his first time in a helicopter anymore, thanks to his boyfriend, but it's still a little nerve-racking to him.
"You will see when we get there, and don't worry. I'm right here." Kongpob kissed the back of his hand that he is holding.
They walked up to Luke that was waiting for them.
"Good morning Mr. Suthilak, Mr. Ronajpat. Madam had packed breakfast for you two. You can find it inside the cabin."
"Thank you Luke. Let's get going."
Kongpob held onto Arthit's hand as they climbed on board. The helicopter was pretty similar to the one they had ridden in Tokyo. However, this one had KPS written on the side of the helicopter.
"Is this your own helicopter?" Arthit asked as Kongpob buckled him in like the first time.
"Yes, but my mom uses it too."
"I thought you said it's wasteful." Arthit raised a curious eyebrow at Kongpob.
"I said that about a private jet, not a helicopter." Kongpob corrected him.
Arthit rolled his eyes.
"A helicopter is much more efficient for my purposes to travel within Thailand. Also, I don't need to rent a runway, or hire a crew for service. Either Thak or Luke can fly it. So, I'm always ready to go."
Arthit nodded to the practical reasons Kongpob was providing.
Kongpob pulled out two food containers, and handed one to Arthit.
"I wonder what my mother made for us." Kongpob opened excitedly. He has always loved his mother's cooking.
"Oh, it's omelet over fried rice. There's satay chicken too. Mmmm...." Arthit said as he stuffed a piece of chicken in his mouth.
"It's good right? My mother rarely cooks now, but she is very good at it." Kongpob said as he stuffed his mouth with rice and some cucumbers.
Arthit nodded in agreement. The delicious food, and the beautiful view over Thailand was awesome.
After flying a little over an hour, they landed. Luke opened the aircraft door for them.
"Welcome to Phuket Gentlemen."
Phuket? Arthit's smiled could not get any wider. He has never been to Phuket despite the fact that it's not that far from Bangkok. Growing up, his family went to Pattaya since it's closer and much much cheaper.
The year he had his first promotion at BKK Engineers, he wanted to treat himself to a little getaway, but due to last minute issues at work, he didn't get to go. Chet went without him since the money was already spent. Arthit received a lovely 'I ❤️ Phuket' t-shirt as a souvenir instead. He still has that damn t-shirt.
"Kongpob! I'm so excited to be here."
"You've never been?" Kongpob asked, but wasn't really surprised. Other than local Thais that lived in the area, Phuket was mostly full of foreign tourists.
"I almost visited three years ago, but I had to cancel last minute."
"Well, let me show you around. We will only be here for one night. But we can come again anytime you want."
Kongpob took Arthit around Old Phuket Town with Luke trailing behind them in a safe distance. The two men walked around exploring the markets, boutiques and art galleries in the area. They ate from street carts, and a little roadside restaurant where Arthit claims to have found the best curry crab he has ever had in his life.
This time Kongpob took the initiative to take pictures together without Arthit asking. And he continued to snap candid pictures of Arthit when he wasn't looking. Adding to his 'Tiger' photo album collection, although he thinks he should rename it to 'Kitten.'
Later in the afternoon, Luke drove the men to the beach. Arthit thought they were just going to the beach to play and hangout, but he didn't expect a private yacht to be waiting for them.
"Kongpob, is this yours too?"
"Yes, but I was thinking of selling it. I haven't used it in the last two years."
Arthit nodded as Kongpob gave him a tour around the yacht. There were four crew members onboard. There was one captain, two stewards, and one cook that greeted them upon boarding.
After touring around, Kongpob led Arthit to the bedroom. The room was modern with an abundance of light from the huge windows with a king size bed in the middle.
"Wow. This is really nice Kongpob." Arthit looked around.
"Are you tired? Or do you want to jet ski? We can snorkel too if you want." Kongpob walked up to Arthit, and held him by the waist. Even though they were together all day, they weren't physically touching much. So, Kongpob missed Arthit even though he was right there with him the whole time.
"Hmm.... I think I would rather relax a bit. Do you mind just lounging around with me?" Arthit asked as he wrapped his arms around Kongpob's neck to pull him in for a hug. He missed Kongpob's touch too.
"Anything you want."
The two men took a quick shower, and changed into more comfortable clothes. They went up to the sundeck, and sat under the shades enjoying the breeze.
Soon, the breeze and the sound of the waves lulled Arthit to sleep next to Kongpob. Kongpob woke him up when the sun was about to set. He kissed Arthit's slightly parted pink lips. Tracing the top and the bottom of Arthit's lips with the tip of his tongue, and then slowly further parting Arthit's lips with his mouth, Kongpob slips in his tongue.
Arthit responds right away kissing Kongpob back. Arthit's hand reached for Kongpob's waist, and then pushed his shirt up to touch his bare skin underneath. Arthit moaned a little, and Kongpob smiled against their kiss, and then slowly pulled away.
Arthit opened his eyes smiling. "I like waking up to a kiss."
"Yes, it's much more effective than an alarm clock for you."
Kongpob chuckled, and leaned back so he won't block Arthit's view. "Look, I don't want you to miss it."
Arthit looked around him, and then sat up. The sun was setting, and the beautiful orange sky with a touch of pink over the sea was breathtaking.
Kongpob wrapped his arm around Arthit's waist, and Arthit leaned his head on Kongpob's shoulder.
"Happy One Month Anniversary." Kongpob said softly as he pecked Arthit's head.
"Thank you. I didn't think you would care for it. You know, since I'm not a girl and all."
"Arthit, it doesn't matter if you're a girl or not. It's about us reaching a milestone."
"You make me wish I was a girl."
Kongpob frowned. "Why?"
"You're too romantic. Actually, you should be the girl." Arthit teased.
Kongpob smacked Arthit's exposed thigh.
"Ouch!" Arthit rubbed his thigh chuckling.
"Do you always shower your dates like this?" Arthit probably shouldn't have asked, but he couldn't help wondering.
"Only you."
Arthit got off Kongpob's shoulder, and kissed him on the cheek. "I love you."
Kongpob turned to look Arthit in the eyes. "I love you too. And I have a surprise for you."
"There's more?"
