Chapter 106
"I can't believe that Warin left without saying a word." Arthit says as he drags his suitcase into their walk-in closet. They have just returned from Koh Samui. Their flight was pretty awkward and silent. Nina had basically slept through the whole flight while Luke not so subtly watched her the whole time.
"He's lucky he left before I got up. Otherwise, I would have tied him to a rock, and tossed him in the ocean." Kongpob says as he undresses himself for a quick shower.
Kongpob was shocked when Luke reported to him about what Warin had tried to do the previous night. How dare that asshole try to force himself on Nina, and under his roof nonetheless. Luke had also informed him about overhearing Warin's conversation on the phone during the wedding. Kongpob knew something didn't feel right with that Warin. He indeed was only trying to use his aunt to influence his grandfather. What a lowlife scumbag to play with someone's feelings for personal gain. Luckily, Nina wasn't interested, and Luke was there. That asshole is lucky he actually left before he got up. Luke said he and Jeep walked him out of the resort at just the crack of dawn.
Kongpob grits his teeth, and proceeds to strip himself naked. He still has a board meeting in a couple of hours. So, he has to freshen up quickly.
"You're just all talk Kongpob. I don't believe for a second you would hurt a fly." Arthit steps inside the shower. Like Kongpob, he also needs to head back to the office. He stands in the front of the massaging shower head that has the perfect jet set pressure beating his tired muscles. No place beats home. He can't believe in the short span of ten months, he has come to be so comfortable in this place. Kongpob's home. His home. Their home.
Kongpob smiles. His boyfriend thinks he's an angel. Then again, he has never done anything to anyone that didn't deserve it. He always gave fair warnings, but those who didn't heed to them knew what was coming. Shaking his head, Kongpob joins Arthit for a quick shower.

"Kongpob, do you think the interview came out yet?" Arthit looks nervously outside the window as their company's building comes to view.
Kongpob doesn't look up from his phone where he is checking his emails. "Yes. M says he placed a copy of the magazine on top of my desk. If you want, I can have it sent downstairs to you."
"No. That's okay. I'll see it after work. Maybe I should get off a block away like before so we don't draw so much attention."
"No. The paparazzi will see you no matter what. Actually, you might even have trouble getting into the building if they bombard you outside. It's safer to go in with me and Luke. Besides what's the point of going in separately again?" Kongpob puts away his phone, and intertwines their hands before Arthit starts chewing his nails again. He understands that Arthit is just nervous, and he hopes all the noise will die down soon. The Entertainment Tonight special won't broadcast until the afternoon, so there's probably going to be reporters lingering around for a while.
"Okay. I don't know. Nothing like this has ever happened to me." Arthit says as they approach the building.
"Just don't worry, and walk straight inside. You don't need to reply to anything they throw at you. Thak has already arranged for more security today to keep the reporters at a safe distance. Try not to leave the building unless you really have to, and take Luke if you need to. Okay?"
Arthit nods. He has no plans to go out of the office today. When their car arrives, Thak opens the door for them. Sounds of cameras snapping could immediately be heard. Arthit puts on his sunglasses, and steps out of the car after Kongpob. There were about twenty or so reporters crowded outside. While there's a lot less than at the wedding, these reporters came specifically for them.
"Mr. Ronajpat, what's your relations with Mr. Suthilak? Are you two gay?"
"Mr. Suthilak, have you been hiding your true sexuality this whole time?"
"Mr. Suthilak, does your family approve of your relationship with Mr. Ronajpat?"
"Mr. Suthilak, how will you continue the Suthilak and Ruangroj bloodline? Are you just experimenting?"
"Mr. Ronajpat, your ex-boyfriend is willing to give an exclusive tell-all interview. What's your response to the matter? Do you have any dirty secrets?"
Both men kept walking straight towards the entrance until that last question caught Arthit's attention. Arthit froze on the spot, and the reporter tried to get closer despite the security guards blocking him. Arthit turns to face the reporter. He wants to know if Chet is really planning to talk about him, and about what? The reporter notices Arthit's attention, so he tries to shove the security guard over.
In all the noise, Kongpob didn't hear what the reporter said to Arthit. All he notices is Arthit turning towards that reporter. He had to stop Arthit from responding to anything. Once you start, the flood gates open. They'll also be more inclined to come back for more, prolonging this disturbance. He took two quick steps to nudge Arthit to move forward at the small of his back. Upon doing so, all the reporters push forward with their cameras snapping away at the little gesture. The security team tries to push the reporters back, and in the midst of chaos one reporter falls over, and knocks a security guard over.
Arthit turns around, and sees the security guard on the ground is none other than his brother Kohl. He can't really see that well as he is ushered to keep moving, but he can for sure tell there's blood on Kohl's face. A part of him wants to rush over to check on his brother, but given the situation that's not an option at the moment.
Kongpob and Arthit quickly entered the private elevator. They were very aware of all the people that work in the building staring at them. Most of the people knew Kongpob Suthilak as the CEO of KPS Company, and the owner of the building. But everyone is curious as to who the man is standing next to him, and some overheard the questions the reporters were throwing at them.
"Arthit, are you alright?" Kongpob asks, seeing Arthit frowning with his lips pursed.
"Kongpob, that reporter said Chet is going to give an exclusive interview about me. What should I do? I don't know what he would say. What if he spreads lies? Or tell intimate secrets about me?" Arthit looks nervously at Kongpob. This is exactly why he wanted to avoid going public before. He doesn't want this attention.
"Don't worry. I'll make sure it won't happen. Just focus on work. I'll see you tonight. If you need anything, just call me." Kongpob pecks Arthit's cheek just before the elevator landed on Arthit's floor.
Arthit tries to smile at Kongpob, and look calm before entering his company. He stands there for a few seconds waiting for Kongpob's elevator to close before he turns to walk away. Today is the first time he entered his company from Kongpob's elevator. He usually got off on the secret floor, and went back down in one of the regular elevators.
"Boss! I'm glad you're here. I have twenty two messages for you. There's also quite a few packages waiting in your office. Knot says he is running late at a project site, so he wants to know if the meeting at 1 pm can be moved to 2pm. If your conference call with Mr. Saelim can end on time, then it is possible. I've highlighted the key points for discussion on your desk. That should help make the conversation move along quicker. John says he needs to know your decision on the NexxTower proposal. Also, Mrs. Suthilak says she will be stopping by later today to review the quarterly report. She says you don't have to be here, but it would be nice if you were. Also..."
"Hold on Anjali. I can't understand a word you are saying. Slow down. Can I get to my office first?" Arthit nods at a few employees as he quickly makes his way to his office with Anjali on his tail.
Anjali is Arthit's fairly new secretary. He couldn't share one with Knot anymore since the workload became too much for one person. Anjali is super high energy, and works at the speed of light. Half the time Arthit is trying to keep up with her instead of the other way around. She has only been working for him for a little over three months, and she knows the company and his schedule inside out. No wonder Kongpob's secretary Alexa highly recommended her for the position. The girl doesn't even need to breathe. She's probably a great diver.
Anjali doesn't say another word until her Boss takes his jacket off, and hangs it on the coat hook. Her boss frowns upon seeing all the neatly stacked files on his desk. She made sure they were all put in order based on priority with color coded tabs where he needed to sign. She even typed up summaries for several of the new proposals to make it less time consuming.
Arthit looks up, and he almost wants to laugh at how hard Anjali is trying to hold herself back from continuing her exuberant regurgitation of his schedule for the day. This is what his work life looks like after taking a long weekend. Sigh. He slumps in his chair, and waves his hand for Anjali to sit down across from him.
"Anjali, tell Knot to take his time. I will just meet with him later. I don't want to rush the conference call with Mr. Saelim. Tell John, my decision is no for NexxTower. Their offer is too low for what they are requesting of us. Try to find out from Mrs. Suthilak's assistant what time she will be here. I would like to at least meet with her briefly. I will go over all of these files as quickly as I can. Is there anything else?" Arthit asks as he reaches for the first file. He knows Anjali prioritizes all the files for him, and he is beyond grateful for the summaries she provides. But he has a feeling he won't be able to make too much headway today with his nerves all over the place. It's just too hard to focus.
"Boss, do you want some coffee or tea? Or anything else? You don't look so well." Anjali pushes her glasses up her nose bridge. She saw all the reporters outside waiting for her Boss and Mr. Suthilak this morning on her way into work. They must have gotten to her Boss, but she doesn't want to pry.
Arthit closes his eyes, and leans back in his chair. He wishes he can just go to sleep, and wake up when all this is over with. He hopes those reporters won't be downstairs all day, especially when he leaves. Then suddenly, he remembers his brother Kohl was hurt earlier. So, he pulls open his drawer and takes out a small first aid kit.
"Anjali, do you mind doing me a favor?" Arthit asks hesitantly.
"Sure, Boss. What would you like me to do?" Anjali eyes the first aid kit in her Boss' hands. She didn't notice any injuries on him. She quickly scans over Arthit's face. Is he okay?
"It's not me. There's a security guard downstairs in the main lobby that was injured. His name is Kohl Ronajpat. Do you think you can take this to him? But don't tell him that I sent you though."
Anjali's eyes go wide in surprise at hearing the name Ronajpat. Are they related? Anjali knows she is in no position to ask her Boss any personal questions, but she is very curious.
Arthit can almost see Anjali instantly connecting the dots. If their last name isn't too obvious already, then their looks will probably give them away anyway. Kohl is slightly taller, but there's no mistake that they are related when they stand next to each other. So, he decides to kill Anjali's curiosity. "Kohl is my brother, but we are not on speaking terms. Please keep this information to yourself."
"I understand Boss. I will go right away." Anjali takes the first aid kit, and heads out on her mission.

AN: Sweets, so what kind of secrets do you think Chet will spill? And Arthit's brother is back in the scene.
I promised the end is coming, and it still is. Stay with me. 🙏🏼
