Chapter 102
"Stay still. Let me fix your collar. The button is too tight." Kongpob tucked the back of Arthit's collar underneath the jacket properly so it's not crooked. Their suits are different, yet they matched. It's not the traditional black tuxedo that he had expected Davika to design for them. She says she wanted them to stand out from the crowd, and the sea of tuxedos. So here they are wearing matching maroon colored suits. His boyfriend hasn't stopped fidgeting all morning. He has said all he can think of to calm him down, but nothing has really worked. Anytime he wasn't looking, Arthit would start biting his nails, or worse, run his hands through his already styled hair.
Arthit hadn't touched his breakfast at all this morning, so Kongpob has been feeding him bites here and there while they were getting ready. He didn't want Arthit to run on an empty stomach. Who knows how long the commencement ceremony will be before they have their first meal at the event? The actual wedding ceremony will not even take place until the evening. These events are always long and draining. It would be awful to be nervous and hungry.
"Who is the Tycoon Chaiyut marrying this time anyway? Do you know?" Arthit asked. All the news about the great celebration has only stated that Tycoon Chaiyut was getting married for the third time. But with whom he is getting married to has yet to be announced.
"Actually, I don't know either. The invitation did not say. It's all very secretive. But we will know in a couple of hours." Kongpob said without giving it too much thought. He didn't care one way or another.
"Kongpob, do you know everyone there? I mean besides the few of us." Arthit asked, looking at his boyfriend's handsome face. Kongpob is calm and collected as always. How he does it, Arthit will never understand. Both their worlds are about to be turned upside down. Yet, he is the only one sweating down to his balls.
"Of course not. That's simply impossible. There's going to be thousands of people there. Aside from invited guests, there's also the paparazzi. I'm acquainted with many people due to business and political ties, but very few at a personal level. I can probably recognize many due to common events, but I probably can't put a name to more than a handful of people. So, don't leave me alone by myself. I'll get bored and lonely." Kongpob said the last bit to make Arthit smile. He wants Arthit to know they are in this together all the way.
"Kongpob, you look so handsome today." Arthit looked up through his lashes. Kongpob was fixing his vest underneath the jacket.
"As opposed to all the other days?" Kongpob smiled, and took a step back to assess his handiwork. Arthit looked good. Very good. Now, only if he would stop fidgeting, and hold his head up high.
"No. You're handsome everyday, but you're extra handsome today." Arthit took a step closer to Kongpob. He wanted to kiss his boyfriend.
Kongpob placed his hands on Arthit's chest, and stopped him from getting closer. He knew that look, and it's Arthit's way of distraction and avoidance. If he let Arthit have his way, they'll ruin their clothes, and be naked rolling in bed again. Over the course of their relationship, he has realized that Arthit used sex to avoid anything serious. Like whenever he brought up Arthit's father, or his brother, or any touchy subject. Only after sex, he is ready to talk. Arthit also wanted sex whenever he was nervous. Kongpob is usually more than happy to comply, but right now is not the time.
"We have to get going. Now, behave." Kongpob kissed Arthit's forehead, and smiled looking at Arthit's pouting face. How is a grown man so cute? Kongpob wondered.

Luke stepped out of the pool after finishing his twentieth lap. Water dripping all over his body, pooling in a puddle at his feet. The sunlight bounced off his golden skin, and his defined muscles were visible with his every flex. He had gone for his early morning run along the beach alone since Kongpob confirmed that he would be staying in the villa. Then after his run, he took a dip in the beautiful pool.
All night, he kept vigilant and alert at the slightest creak in the house. Was anyone in danger or facing a threat? Not really. But Luke had to make sure no one was going to try anything funny or stupid. And no one was going to try to sneak in anyone else's room.
He dried his soaking wet body with a towel, and took a sip of coffee. He needed to shower and get ready for the ceremony. But that's pretty easy since all he has to do is put on his regular black suit. The only thing different today is that he won't be carrying his guns underneath his suit. Any type of weapons will not be allowed at this event. So over the past week, he has been training extra hard on his hand-to-hand combat moves with Thak. It's a big event, so high security is to be expected. He hopes everything will go smoothly, and he won't have to use any of his skills. But you can never be too safe.
Nina has been peering out the window, hidden behind the sheer curtains for the past thirty minutes. She knows she shouldn't be peeking. She knows it's not good for her. But the brute looks hot, and she couldn't help herself from watching. Afraid that she would get caught staring, she immediately stepped away from the window once Luke stepped out of the water.
From what she deemed as a safe distance, she looked out the window to see if he had noticed. But Luke was drinking his coffee while water was still dripping down his body. He seemed completely unaffected by her existence this whole time since yesterday. Why would he care or notice now?
Nina sighed, and continued to get ready. All she needed was to put on her accessories. Being a Ruangroj, she needed to represent. She picked up the emerald necklace her mother wanted her to wear. There's a pair of matching emerald earrings and a bracelet as well. She chose a simple red strapless gown with a deep v-cut neckline to accommodate the flashy accessories. She looked herself once over, and smiled. She pitied the reflection staring back at her. It was hollow and empty. Looking from the outside, she had everything. But no one knows how lonely she feels inside. To wake up and go to sleep alone every night. She wonders when will the day come where she doesn't feel like an empty shell. A day where she won't feel like her life is missing a piece of a puzzle. Will she ever feel complete?

"Kongpob, maybe we shouldn't hold hands." Arthit whispered in Kongpob's ear. Their limo was in a queue to the entrance. Arthit was getting more nervous by the second. He can already see all the cameras flashing at the people who had arrived ahead of them. There's really a lot of people everywhere.
"Okay. That's fine. Just make sure you stay close so you won't get lost. Also, just smile for the cameras, but don't answer any questions they throw at you." Kongpob said while he silenced his phone. He looked across the vehicle, and he can tell by the way Luke is sitting, and the angle of his head that he is staring at Nina and Warin. He was probably more like glaring at them behind those shades. Nina had her arm hooked around Warin's, and was giggling at whatever Warin was saying. Earlier, before getting into the car, Warin couldn't stop showering Nina with compliments. And when Warin wrapped an arm around Nina's bare shoulders, he thought he might have had to hold Luke back from knocking the guy out. Sigh. His boyfriend is too nervous at the moment to even be nosey. Arthit is biting his nails again.
Here goes nothing. Their limo approached the entrance, and their door was pulled open. Nina and Warin exited first, followed by Nina's bodyguard Jeep. Then Kongpob and Arthit exited, followed by Luke. Hundreds of cameras continuously flashed. Every few steps Kongpob was asked to pose and smile. Arthit did the same beside him. Questions were immediately thrown at them about their relations.
"Mr. Suthilak, who is your guest? You two are matching."
"Mr. Suthilak, is it true Miss Davika Hoorne broke up with you to be with race car driver Alex Albon?"
"Mr. Suthilak, is he your partner? What is his name?"
Kongpob and Arthit ignored the questions with a smile, and kept walking. Thank goodness those reporters were roped off at a safe distance. The walk to the actual entrance felt like a mile because people kept stopping in front of them to strike poses and talk to the paparazzi. Some, they were able to walk around, but others that stood smack in the middle of the aisle, they weren't.
When they finally arrived inside, they were guided to their seats. Many people had greeted Kongpob along the way as they entered. Even after settling into their seats for a while, Arthit was still very nervous. He had crossed his legs, but they kept shaking anyway. Kongpob continued to nod and smile at people who knew him.
Arthit looked around, and the resort was heavily decorated in gold. From where Kongpob and Arthit were sitting, they were able to see the center stage where the ceremony will take place. Nina and Warin were seated on the other end of the room. Their bodyguards had no seats. They were only allowed to stand in the back of the room along the walls. It took nearly an hour for everyone to settle down, and for the commencement ceremony to start. Kongpob told Arthit that this would be very long and boring. However, no matter what, they should not check or play with their phones. Also, they shouldn't talk above a whisper as that would be deemed disrespectful.
After two hours of sitting there listening to a man droning on about the greatness of their country, and Buddha's blessings on their nation, Arthit was starting to nod off. Kongpob had noticed Arthit's eyes start drooping. He couldn't blame him because it was awfully boring, and Arthit probably didn't get enough sleep last night being all nervous. Kongpob subtly looked around the room, and he noticed that Arthit was not the only one falling asleep. But he definitely didn't want Arthit to be caught sleeping. Luckily, he came prepared. Kongpob reached inside his pocket, and pulled out a piece of candy. He unwrapped one, and pressed it on Arthit's lips.
Arthit opened his mouth for the candy with a smile. He tried to shake his drowsiness away. He turned to look at Kongpob, and all he wanted to do was lean on him and hug him to sleep. But of course, that wasn't an option. Ugh! Maybe letting Miss X come instead wouldn't have been such a bad idea. It's so freaking boring. Arthit turned to peek at Luke, he thinks Luke is probably standing there sleeping behind those shades. How he wishes he could wear shades too at this moment.
Finally after those two grueling hours, Tycoon Chaiyut himself welcomed all the guests. Then all the guests were invited to the crystal ballroom for lunch. The wedding ceremony will take place later after lunch.
Arthit was so grateful for the break. His butt was hurting from sitting so long. Unfortunately, they also had assigned seats for lunch. Nina and Warin sat at the next table. They were once again stuck with a bunch of people Arthit didn't know. However, everyone at the table seemed to recognize Kongpob, and were trying to strike up a conversation with him. That only added to Arthit's self-consciousness.
"Mr. Suthilak, I'm Victor Saetang, and this is my wife Moni Saetang. It's such a pleasure to meet you in person."
"The pleasure is all mine Mr. And Mrs. Saetang. This is my partner, Arthit Ronajpat."
Arthit blushes, and nodded with a smile. How can Kongpob just say it so casually? He looked at the couple to see if they had any reaction, but he was relieved to see that they had none. Maybe they didn't catch the partner part, or the meaning behind it.
"I've been following the progress of the SuSus Project. It's very ambitious, and very exciting. You are simply brilliant. I am looking forward to the end product." Mr. Saetang said.
"Thank you. I can't take all the credit. There's still a long way to go, but my team and I are confident that we will succeed."
"I just wanted to say, you two look lovely. I love your matching suits." Mrs. Saetang said to the two men.
"Thank you." Arthit said shyly with a little smile.
"Thanks. These were custom designed by Davika Fashion." Kongpob smiled, and looked at Arthit affectionately.
After lunch, everyone was directed back to their original seats. The wedding officially began. Everyone stood before Tycoon Chaiyut to show respect. Once Tycoon Chaiyut was seated, everyone took their seats as well. Then the announcer introduced the bride, Sheenhi Saeli. Everyone gasped in surprise when people recognized that the new bride was none other than the Tycoon Chaiyut's personal bodyguard. True love prevails.
While the traditional ceremony was taking place, Luke stood there shell shocked. How and why would Tycoon Chaiyut marry a bodyguard? Weren't both his past two wives royalty or noble? How come this one is a commoner? He looked to Nina. Would Nina really fall for a commoner like him? He quickly shook that thought out of his head. Just look at all that jewelry she is draped in. What can he possibly offer her? He took another glance, and he saw Warin holding Nina's hand. Stop with all the daydreams, he told himself. You're a nobody.

AN: Sweets, this is my fourth update for the week. So, unless another one-shot strikes me, I'll be taking the weekend off from writing.
What did you guys think of the pictures I picked for Kongpob and Arthit? KS have a lot of matching outfits to choose from, but I thought these worked the best for my story. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
Love you lots,
Lana ❤️
