The Cruel Attack On The Scorpion Den
{SAD WARNING}
{KINDA GORE/BLOOD/DEATH WARNING??? }
You have been warned....
Scorch's P.O.V??? (Age Two)
Mother, Lizard, was born with six talons on her two front feet, her right eye was blue while her other was black as midnight, and her poison wasn't very strong. Father, Cobra, was in Burn's army and was a excellent fighter until an explosion gave him the nasty scars and the blinded left eye from a flying piece of debris. Now he has a faint limp, an eyepatch, and many many nasty scars. Lizard at met Cobra when he was dragged in, all bloody and dirtied. There was no he could return back to Burn after his long disappearance without a harsh punishment. So he ended up staying, and Lizard was chosen to show him around the Scorpion Den, ending up falling in love and having me, Scorch. Lizard fled here so she wouldn't end up in Burn's collection of odd dragons. Many here were criminals, pacifists who got very annoying at a point, defected and odd dragons, or just some wanting to escape the chaos. An old Skywing with torn wings had warned everyone that Burn might someday find here and kill everyone for their crimes, physical oddities, and 'running away like a coward'. In the Scorpion Den, there were mainly Sandwings, some Skywings, and a few Icewings. He knew an Icewing. His name was Wisp. Wisp's frostbreath wasn't normal, it came out as an odd gas that was surprisingly flammable. I found out the hard way... when I'm older, I'm going to become an Outclaw and feed and give water to starving families and dragonets. Lizard hopes someone besides Burn wins so everyone will at least get a decent drink and meal,'Blaze will end up giving away all our land, and Blister... Blister is... I'm not sure about her', Lizard says about the two princesses. 'Burn will kill us all!', she'd exclaim half in a jokingly manner.
But she can't find us.
Can she?
3 DRAGON YEARS LATER....
Scorch was getting his morning meal from the Outclaws when explosions shook the Scorpion Den. Panicked wails exited the mouths of many small dragonets as they clung to their mothers. "Go to your family. Now!", ordered the outclaw who gave him his food before flapping away to investigate. To his horror, two female dragons stood atop one of the walls with a hige army behind them. One a blood red Skywing (Mozziu 's Sparrow) and a dusty colored Sandwing with a cold, black stare. "We are with Burn!", The Skywing began,"Prepare for your deaths to justify many lives, a spot in Burn's collection, and a punishment for running away!", she read off a scroll before tossing it away. "Burn would want to justify lives?", one Icewing whispered to a Sandwing. Fire shot straight at the Sandwing before she nimbly dodged. "TROOPS! ATTACK!", a horrific screechy voice echoed throughout the walls of the Scorpion Den. It was the Sandwing. He had been told stories of a Sandwing whose beautiful voice has been taken away with a vicious swipes and stabs of an Icewing's tail her throat during a fight, surviving miraculously, but her voice damaged and changed greatly. She was said to have been on Burn's sode so she has an excuse for killing Icewings as revenge for the things they had ruined in her life, she was also called 'vain' at a point.
Small dragonets screamed as the massive troop began to swoop down into the Scorpion Den. "SCORCH!". It was Cobra. He was standing not that far away in the swarm of fleeing and screaming dragons. "Get as many dragonets and their mothers and go hide with Lizard and her eggs!", he commanded before clawing a soldier who was trying to lift a small Skywing with oddly small wings and a shorter than usual tail. Scorch nodded silently. He could see Lizard digging a hole in the sand under a fallen tent. She was a fast digger and it went faster with an extra talon.
He had found six mothers with one or two dragonets. 'Hope that hole is big enough', he thought worriedly as the battle between the troops raged on. Scorch led them to Lizard's hole she was still digging and it was quite wide and deep already. Pine was lashing at some Sandwings as they cornered him. 'Don't use your 'frost' breath, don't use your frost breath, dont use your frost breath', the thought filled his mind. He had found even more dragonets and their mothers. His eyes glanced at his scarred father; He was doing his deadly move, ripping the barb off the Sandwing and stabbing it right into their spine. He shuddered as he brought was he thought was the last of the dragonets and mothers to Lizard's burrow. Sandwings screeched as their lives ended. Skywings fell from the sky.
Flames engulfed tents and dragons caught in the chaos. "HELP US!!", A skywing mother screamed out, she had a collapsed building nearly crushing her. Under her arm was a small dragonet whose scales were coated in soot and ash. "Please, take my baby!". She grunted as she moved the debris just enough to let her dragonet squeeze out. "Mama!", the small dragonet sobbed and tried to move the debris crushing her, but it didn't help. Scorch tried to help the dragonet lift it, but it was no use. "You'll be alright, just close your eyes", a single tear streamed down her face. "Take her somewhere safe. Promise me she'll be alive after this!", her voice cracked as more tears streamed down her cheeks. "I-I promise", Scorch's eyes burned. "Follow him, Ember, you'll be okay, my daughter", the mother cried even more. "J-JUST GO!", more flaming debris fell. Scorch held the small dragonet and ran. "MAMA!", the female dragonet's eyes were streaming with tears and Scorch could feel each one drip onto his shoulder, he, burning with guilt and shame. The mother smiled weakly before she disappeared from sight.
Lizard's head popped out the hole," Hurry! This fight is getting even more bloodier!". Scorch placed the small dragonet on the sand, showing her the hole when a familiar voice drifted into his ears. "Burn ordered me to punish you for leaving her army and the long disappearances!". The blood-red Skywing who was announcing the attack had Cobra in a deathly position with her carved tail pointed at his stomach and her talons choking him. "So tell me, for Burn too, why didn't you tell her where this place was?!". Scorch's father growled," I would NEVER tell you! You nor Burn!".
And Scorch's life was torn apart.
Her tail stabbed into his stomach with ease and exited swiftly.
Cobra coughed and blood splattered on the hot sand around him.
Scorch's eyes widened and flapped wildly to save his father.
It was too late.
Blood spurted out his stomach as he shook wildly.
"K-Kill me! KILL ME NOW!", Cobra gasped for breath.
Scorch never thought that his beloved father's last words would be to kill him.
"Im so sorry, Im sorry, Im so sorry, Im sorry", Scorch's trembling words left his lips shakily as he put his talons on his father's throat. "Forgive me, please", he whispered and snapped Cobra's neck, ending his suffering painlessly. His eyes burned like the fire in the Scorpion Den and broke into a sob as he cried into Cobra's dead body. That Skywing. That Skywing did all this. She 'made him' kill his own father. She helped destroy lives and homes. He shook with anger as he stared down at his dead father's body when the smell of fumes met his nostrils and the hooting of laughter. "You really think some 'cloud' will kill us?!", one hooted. "You're a disgrace to your feared tribe!", one half growled, half laughed. It was Pine. He had spat his fumes. He could see it like a fog, hazily swallowing up anything in it. "You're all going down with me!", Pine growled lifting a piece of wood. "HE'S GOING TO BLOW THIS PLACE UP!", a smaller soldier warned the others. A large red Skywing tackled Pine and snapped his neck. The torch left his claws and flew straight into the fumes. "NO!", the smart soldier screamed as he dove for cover.
Too late.
B000000M!
Explosions shook the chaotic Scorpion Den.
The force of the explosion sent Scorch flying, along with other dragons and debris.
Pain shot through his upper back and it skimmed the ground slightly.
Everything went blank.
Ringing.
Awful ringing was all he could hear.
Fuzziness.
A faint scene of flaming tents and homes. Dead dragons sprawled on the burning sand, frozen, burned, or crushed.
Dreaded ringing.
Cobra.
Lizard.
"LIZARD!", he screamed, but all he could hear was his muffled screaming over the dreadful ringing. He tried to stand, but he was wedged between two large, heavy rocks like the mother he had to leave behind... "MOTHER!!!", he screamed again. Out the corner of his eye, he could seenthe blood-red Skywing along with several other Sandwings and Skywings. He struggled to get out," I'll get you someday, to 'justify many lives'. Just you wait.", he spat darkly. Footsteps. Someone was coming. He squirmed and tried to push the rock off, but it painfully drove deeper into his flesh. "LIZARD!", Scorch tried to scream again, but his throat burned from the smoke. Four greenish-sandy colored feet with a pair of smaller, two dark orange feet. Lizard lowered her head to see her half-crushed son. "Mom...", was all he could manage to say. The female Sandwing held the rock and heaved until Scorch could slide out. He couldn't stand well without leaning against his mother. His shoulders were badly bruised, the edges of his wings' membranes were ripped slightly, but not a lot, his body was covered in cuts, scratches, bruises, and the membrane that went down his head and spine were torn in some places. His ears ached as well with his bones and muscles. "Mama...?". The small Skywing dragonet stopped in her tracks. The Skywing mother was laid still and breathless with a talon reached out with something in her talons. An amulet. The dragonet scrambled to her mother and fell. "MAMA!", she screamed, sobbing. Her eyes were red from all the crying. She shakily opened her closed talons to see a jade amulet with the name 'Ember' carved into the back. "F-Flare loved j-jades. S-she wanted m-me to have it when t-the t-time w-was right; so she carved m-my name into i-it", the dragonet whimpered. "Don't worry, me and my son, Scorch will look after you", Lizard soothed the trembling dragonet. Ember broke out in tears and sobbed into Lizard's leg.
'You better watch your back, Skywing. One day you'll regret doing this'.
