My husband DarkMinstrel created another wonderful piece of music based on one of my poems. It's called Until I Rest by Your Side and accompanies the last poem of this collection. It encompasses perfectly the grief and sorrow of losing a loved one, but also captures those fleeting moments of happiness that are now only a memory.

winter's pretty blanket
wraps your body like a shroud
to shield you from the darkness
and keep you safe and sound

my heart bleeds with sorrow
to have you ripped from my embrace
taken from my loving arms
and leaving only emptiness

sleep now and rest
deep in your earthly bed
and when I come to journey's end
I lay myself right by your side
so I dream next to you
of a new bloom in spring
