Prologue

Hey everyone. Thought I give romance a try. I always wanted to do a real love story and I hope you like it. And yes. If you're wondering, it has angels. Comment and vote. I would love to hear opinions. Alright. Enjoy.

Elesia

I'm waiting. I been waiting for an hour for them to make a decision. A decision that will decide my fate. I just wish they could forgive me for what I have done. But I doubt that. I know I committed a wrongful act, but I didn't see it that way. I thought he was a kind man, but what he did was horrible.

What's worse is that he was supposed to die earlier, as fate demanded, but I stopped it. I didn't know he was evil, that there was malice in his heart. I saw goodness in it. I saw love. But I was horribly mistaken when I saw what he did. So many innocent people died. Men. Women. Children. All dead because of me.

Tears form in my eyes when I think about what happened. And it was my fault. My heart was broken because of that man's malice and all those deaths. I deserved to be punished. I know that. I just wished that they'll forgive me.

And so, I been waiting in a cell. A cell made of clouds and crystal bars. Waiting for the judgment to come. Time passes slowly. Another hour has passed. And another. In heaven, time doesn't move as fast as time on earth. In truth, it feels as though centuries has passed, but I know not.

"I wish they can forgive me." I muttered to myself, eyes closed.

And so I wait. By my reckoning, it was another hour, a total of five hours that I waited, when I hear footsteps. I whispered.

"So, it's time for my judgement."

Footsteps get closer to my cell. Closer and closer. They stop in front of the cell doors and I look up.

"Is it time?"

"Yes"

"Very well." I said solemnly.

The cell door is unlocked and two guards enter as I stand. I held out my hands and watched as they put white cuffs on my wrist.

"Come." The guard outside the cell door said.

I stepped outside of the cell, with the other two guards following me outside the cell. The guard who exited the cell last, turned around and closed the cell door. I followed the lead guard with the other two on both side of me.

We walked down the hallway, getting closer and closer to the location where I will find out my punishment. Each step closer to the next as we kept walking down the long and empty hallway. Soon enough, I begin to see light.

'We're almost there.' I said to myself.

We get to the end of the hallway and then we entered into a large room. A room with no ceiling except for clouds as the roof. I had to blink a couple of times because of the light. After a few seconds, I was able to get a hold of my surroundings.

We entered a large room that had no ceiling except for clouds. At the end of the room was a large chair with someone sitting in it. The room and chair was stark white. There were dozens of angels and archangels around the entrance of the room.

I and the three guards stepped forward, making our way to the large chair. All eyes are on me. My head was down as we walked, but I looked up from time to time. Making our way to the center of the room in front of the chair, I spot the other angels with sad and solemn expressions on their faces. It's a sad day when an angel is being judged. Especially an Archangel.

We stopped in front of the chair. I was placed front of the chair. The guards stepped back and bowed. Then they moved away and left the room. I got on my knees and looked forward.

In front of me was a man full in white but it was all shining. To a normal human being, looking at him directly would incinerate them. Angels, however, can look for a while but had to look down and/or away from time to time. We can't keep looking at them. Our creator: God.

At god's feet was a man who is very well known to humans and angels alike. Jesus Christ, the creator's son. Standing opposite sides of Jesus was two well-known Archangels: Gabriel and Michael. Gabriel was on the left as Michael was on the right. I knew that Michael would be the one who will cast me out if it goes that way.

"It's a sad day, fellow angels." An angel judge said. "Because today we are here at the trial of a fellow angel. A well known angel."

They all look at me.

"Archangel Elesia. You have brought on charges of denying fate it's due as you healed a man destined to die. Because of your actions, it ended with the deaths of four hundred and thirty-six innocent lives. Half of them are children, younglings."

The judge looked down and shook his head.

"Do you have anything to say for yourself ?"

I looked up and nodded.

"Yes. I do."

I looked down and looked back up.

"I'm sorry for what has happened. I saw the goodness that was in his heart. I saw the love, not the anger. Not the hatred that was in his heart. But I was fooled. And because of my actions, I condemn those innocent people. My actions lead to their deaths."

I looked down and closed my eyes, tears beginning to stream down my face.

"It left me with a broken heart. I deserved to be punished. Whatever you decide, I deserve it. In fact, I don't deserve to be an angel much less an archangel."

All the angels gasped when I said those last words. Even the judge was caught off guard. But most of all, Michael and Gabriel were shocked. Michael most of all.

"What are you saying?" Michael asked.

Gabriel agreed. "Yes. what are you saying? You, most of all, deserved to be an angel. You have goodness in your heart that puts most of us to shame."

Michael nods. "Yes. You're a better angel than most of us."

I shook my head, tears still pouring down.

"No. I don't deserve to be an angel. I don't."

"Enough."

Everyone turns to the creator, as it was the creator who spoke. The creator stood and stepped towards me, Jesus stepping out of the way. The creator spoke again in a voice that sounded male and female.

"I heard what you have said and what they have said. You're one of the greatest angels I ever had. An angel full of love. For the people of earth and for your fellow angels."

God looked down with a sad expression.

"Nevertheless, you have done a forbidden act. You have denied fate it's hand. And because of it, hundreds of my innocent children have lost their lives. I know there is love in you and they're deaths have stricken you deep. But there must still be punishment."

The creator spoke with a tone of voice that wasn't of anger, but of sadness. I know what the creator was gonna say next. What they have decided.

"As the creator, I decided a punishment for you. I'll strip you of your title of archangel and cast you out of heaven to live on Earth for the rest of your life."

I looked down and more tears were pouring down. I knew that this would happen. I knew it too well. But I was surprised at what the creator said next.

"I'm not without mercy though. For the love you have shown for me, your fellow angels and humanity, I will allow you to keep your wings. I will also assign an angel to watch and keep an eye on you and help you whenever you need it."

The creator paused and this caught my attention. I looked up and see sadness in their eyes.

"I'm sorry that I'm doing this, but it must be done."

The creator turn their head towards Michael.

"Michael. Take her away and cast her out gently."

Michael sadly nods and steps forward and lifts me up. He took the cuffs off of my hands. I followed him out of the room and we stepped into another hallway. We walked until we reached an exit that opens out to a cliff. Over the cliff I looked down and can see land far away below us underneath a blanket of clouds. I turned towards Michael who was looking down.

"I'm sorry that this has to happen, Elesia."

"I know Michael. I wish this didn't happen, but we have to accept it."

I looked down again, tears began to fall again as well. I felt a hand touch my cheek and was surprised to see that it was Michael. He wiped my tears from my face.

"Indeed. If only I didn't have to be the one to do it. But I have no choice."

I nodded.

"Elesia, you should know something. I'm the angel who will be keeping an eye on you from time to time. I will also be the one who will be protecting you."

"What?" I asked, confused.

"Yes. The creator talked to me, Gabriel, and Jesus and told us what the creator was planning. They asked me to be the one to keep an eye on you and I accepted it."

"Why?"

"Because, though you're no longer an archangel, you are one of us and we care for you."

I smiled saddenly. They still care. That made me a little happy. He cleared his throat, catching my attention.

"Now, in order for me to cast you out, I must stab you with this spear of divine Judgement. It will hurt immensely. I'll try to be quick as possible. After I stab you, I with thrust spear forward and and it will knock of the cliff. As you fall, the heavenly feeling and aura around you with began to disappear. Once you hit the earth, you'll no longer be an angel. You will survive the fall and impact though."

I nodded.

"Let's get this over with." I said saddenly.

He took the spear and thrust it into my chest. It felt like a thousand needles was penetrating my chest. The pain was horrible and immense, just like like he said. He then readjusted his grip and pushed the spear forward. Instead of going deeper, it pushed me back. My feet were barely on the cliff's edge. He pushes one more time and I fall. The spear slid out of my chest as I fall.

"I'm sorry." Michaels said with closed eyes.

Those were the last words I heard from him as I fall. My stab wound began closing on it's own. I cried. More than ever before. I cried as I fall. Everything I know was gone. All I had was my wings and a broken heart. And so I continued to cry as I fell like a meteor to the world below.
