Chapter 3: Anthony

The white light caused an explosion as it impacted the earth. The impact was so great, that it caused a sonic boom that chattered the windows, showering glass everywhere. I had to take cover.

"What was that?"

I looked out behind the chair and I saw that woods were on fire a few clicks from where the light impacted the earth.

I ran to the garage and grab the keys to the all-terrain 4x4 truck. I open up the garage door and drove out, heading towards the where the impacted.

As I drew closer, the light from the fires began to get brighter and brighter. Soon enough, I began to that several trees were on fire. Others have fallen to the ground or stayed halfway up in a diagonal line. I drove around some and over smaller ones, hoping that I don't get stuck. Even in a truck with all terrain capabilities, it's still possible to get stuck. So, I drove around a tree trunk that was too thick and large in diameter to drive over.

As I drove through the burning woods, a burning tree trunk fell across path, block the route completely off. So I had to circle around and go the other way. Another tree fell in front of the truck, but it was small enough to push it out of the way.

I was determined to find out whatever that light was. The light was irregular but beautiful. It also caused a distraction that without it, I would have committed suicide. I need to know what that light is. I continued to drive through the burning woods.

It took me thirty minutes until I finally found the crater. I drove through what's left of woods until I found a wasteland of ashes and few trees that weren't burnt away from the explosion. I continue to drive until saw what look like a giant circle.

I stop at the edge of crater and stepped out of the vehicle and walked towards the edge of the crater and looked down. The crater was the size of a baseball stadium in diameter, and it looked to be 30 meters deep at it's center. The land inside the crater looked scorched black.

I looked at the center of the crater and my eyes widened.

"What the heck is that?"

At the center of the crater was a ball of light. It was so bright that I had to squint my eyes, so I wouldn't be blinded. Suddenly, the ball of light is getting smaller and the bright tensity of the light is getting dimmer.

I slowly made my way down the crater as the ball of light decreased slowly in size. By the time I reach the center of the crater, the ball of light was the size of a human being and had a light glow.

I step closer to the human size ball of light. I'm notice that light is getting dimmer. Then the ball began to morph it's shape. It expanded vertically as it decreased in size horizontally. The morphing ball began to change again as it decreased and for the shape of a head of a person and it continued to morph all the way down until it looked like a human size ball of light.

With shock on my face, I looked on as the figure sprouted wings made of light. The light faded away and my eyes widened with a look of shock and awe and surprise.

It was a woman. A woman with wings. Slowly the women fell to ground with a light thump. I rushed over to see if she was alright, to see if she was alive. I put my fingers to the side of her neck and I felt a pulse. To be sure she's breathing, I put my ear in front of her mouth and nose. Sure enough, she was.

She was alive. I stood up and took a better look at her. Her skin tone was pale white. Her hair was white as well. She looked to be about 5.6. From the way she looks, she has no far or any real muscle on her body. She was wearing a white dress that looked more like a nightgown then a dress. If I had to guess on how old she looks, she looks to be in the mid if not early 20's.

But what really grabbed my attention was her wings. I gently, ever so gently pulled her wings out to get a better picture of how long they are. They looked to be 7 to 8 feet wide when one of them was outstretched, so I had to guess they were about 14 to 16 feet wide altogether.

She looked very beautiful. She looked pretty and her wings were beautiful. Realization struck me like a dagger.
Wings. A woman with wings.

"She's an angel. A real angel. They actually exist."

I looked up and remembered the falling light. I looked back her with mysticism.

"She fell from the sky."

I went to church all my life until Sophia died. I never fully believed angels were real, but here's real proof that they exist. That there is such a place as heaven. Realization struck me again as I remembered something about angels.

If an angel falls to earth, then they were cast out of Heaven by the Archangel Michael. Angels who are casted out must've committed a horrible or forbidden crime. So I wonder.

'What did she do to be cast out of heaven?"

I shook my head.

"I'll worry about that later. For now I need to get her some place. I better take her to my vacation home."

I gently lift her up and began the tough journey of getting her to the top of the crater. I took it slowly as I made my way to the top. I made sure as to to keep my footing as well as to make sure I don't drop her. The wings made her heavier than she really is.

It took me fifteen to twenty minutes to get her to the top of the crater. I was panting and out of breath, but I still carried her over to my truck. I places her down gently on the ground and put the rear gate down. I lifted her back up and placed her gently it the back hold of the truck. I stepped down and put the rear panel back up and locked it in place.

I wanted to put her in the back seat, but because of those wings, I just couldn't. I open the rear right door and pull out the blanket. I lifted the blanket up and gently placed it on top of her and tucked it under her to keep the blanket from flying off. I looked at her as she was unconscious.

"I'll try to get you to the house as slow and safely as possible."

I gently touched her face. I remembered a name they give angels when they are cast out of heaven. I whispered the name.

'The Fallen.'

I said to her in a gentle voice.

"You may be a fallen angel and I don't know what you have done, but I will take of you and help you if you need it."

I stepped away and walked towards the driver's side and stopped before opening the doing and took one last glance at the fallen angel. I whispered softly, not knowing that my face was beginning to turn red.

"You're so beautiful."

I shook my head and got into the truck and cranked it. I put it into drive and the truck begin to move. I drove slowly across the rough landscape until I entered the woods again. It was bumpy but I tried to go as a slow as I could.

We got clear of the woods and go onto the road that was near the woods. I stopped the truck and stepped out of the driver side door to check on her. To see if she's alright. Sure enough, she was still unconscious.

I got back in the truck and drove off until I reached the hidden dirt road that would lead to the house.

So the mysterious light was an angel. A fallen angel. What will happen next? Find out next time. Please don't forget to vote or comment.
