Chapter 10: Anthony

This mention goes out to Roselee55 for being a good friend.

Anthony:

Ashes. Small fires, ruptured metal and ashes is what remains throughout the carnage that enveloped the small section inside the hangar. Three people dead, 7 wounded and in intensive care. How did this happened? Why did it happened? Who could have done this?

Multiple questions are running through my head as I survey the carnage of one of the destroyed jet propulsion generators. Two of the three generators were utterly destroyed and completely useless now. The third generator looked untouched. It looked a little crisped from the explosion caused by the two other generators, but it doesn't looked damaged. I had the engineers shutdown and removed the generator and moved it to another part of the facility. I even posted guards to watch over and protect the generator.

Tony and I watched through the carnage, getting a better look at the damaged generators. I kept looking everywhere for signs and clues of sabotage. Every once in a while I noticed that Tony was glaring at me, though he hid it well. Our argument on the helipad didn't go so well.

~.~.~

As I watched Elesia disappeared inside the building with Mike and Amanda, Tony approached me with a stern expression on his face. A hint of anger was hidden there as well.

"Who is she really, Anthony?" He asked, small amount of anger perceived from his voice.

"I told you, Tony. I found her outside my vacation home. Her clothing was shredded and her face was covered in spot ashes. She looked lost and confused." I replied with a stern expression.

I won't tell him the truth. Not yet if ever. Especially now that he's acting this way. Tony just shook his head.

"I believe that you're not being honest with me. That you're hiding something."

He is perceptive. He knew I was hiding something about Elesia. Still, I learned long ago how to counter his perceptiveness.

"I'm telling the truth. Why would I lie to my friend. And besides, Mike was there. He saw her as she stumbled out of the woods."

I noticed that Tony grabbed his chin with his thumb and index finger. He does that when he's thinking seriously. He let out a small sigh, his face still stern.

"All right. I'll believe you for now. But I'm still not sure you're telling me the truth. But for now, I'll just leave it be."

I nodded. "All right then."

I turned around and begin walking towards the building entrance when Tony spoken with a stern expression.

"Anthony, I may be leaving it alone, but you best not be cheating on Sophia."

I stopped dead in my tracks, a look of anger appeared on my face. I turned around and stepped in front of Tony, who was following me at a distance.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Anger seeped from my mouth as I spoke.

"I mean that you best not be cheating on Sophia. You may have found Elesia in the woods, but you could be lying. You could be lounging around with another woman."

"How dare you?! I would never cheat on Sophia. You know how much I cared about her. And I did find Elesia in those woods with Mike."

"Yeah. If you say so." He replied in a sarcastic manner.

"I would never betray Sophia by sleeping with another woman like that. But I will move on with my life. What I do privately is none of your business."

He steps closer to me, anger intensifying in his voice.

"It does concern me if it revolves around you cheating on my deceased sister."

"I will never do that, but I will not allow you to tell me how to live my life. And I won't tolerate it if you try to do so."

I was fuming but I decided to calm down.

"Enough of this. Let's go inspect the damages of the generators."

I turned around and began walking, not giving Tony a chance to retort. He was trying to rile me up so I will tell him the truth. He has done this before. But it never did. But when he brought up the thought of me cheating on Sophia like that almost got me. He must never know the truth about Elesia if he's gonna act like this.

I noticed him as he followed me inside the building, a glare on his face.

~.~.~

I shook my head as I looked at I saw the blacked expression where the explosion and fire ripped through the metal. Someone must have either set explosives inside the generator, deep enough that engineers wouldn't be able to find it, or they jammed the stabilizing pen within the generator, which would have caused the generator to overload and destroy itself. I looked towards Tony and shook my head.

"The person who did this must be extremely clever to pull this off. Too clever."

"What you mean too clever?" He asked, tone still stern.

"I mean he's clever enough to place explosives in a location that our engineers won't find it. But that's what's interesting. The hint of explosives were just a cover for the real sabotage."

With a hand on my chin, I nodded to myself.

"The pins were jammed in place. These generators were set to overload themselves. Only someone who knows the designs and plans well enough is capable of pulling this off."

I look up at him and he caught my expression.

"A spy." He said, with a angry tone. More angry than earlier. "A traitor."

"Yes. We have a traitor in our midst."

I moved my head around and survey the area, looking at the other employees. One of them could be a rat. A traitor. I noticed an employee passing by us, heading towards the stairs leading to the second floor of generator manufacturing facility.

The employee turned his head towards me and I saw his face as he passed us. My eyes widened very wide. I turned towards the employee who began walking up the stairs.

'It can't be.' I thought to myself.

I turned towards Tony. "I'll talk to you later Tony, I'm gonna go on the second floor and look at the damages from above."

"Very well. Do you want to set up a meeting to discussed what is to be done?"

I nodded. "Set one up for tomorrow at 9:30 a.m."

"Alright, my friend." He said in an unfriendly manner.

I turned around and began heading for the stairs. I head up the stairs two at a time. As I got to the top of the stairs, I looked around for the employee who just head up here. I spotted him on the metal grating, overlooking the ruined generators. He turned towards me and my eyes widened once again.

"Michael."

"Anthony." Michael said as he turned back around towards the generators.

I walked up from behind him and stood right beside him. I looked out over the ruined generators, wondering why Michael has revealed himself.

"Michael, why are you here?"

He turned his head and looked at me. Then he turned back towards the generators.

"I have been keeping an eye on things. I been watching over you and Elesia, making sure nothing is to happen to her."

"I know that. I asked why you are here in this facility now?"

"I wanted to speak to you without revealing myself to Elesia yet. It's why I picked this disguise. I'll talk to her in private later."

"What is it that you wanted to speak to me about? I have been doing my best to take care of Elesia."

"I know and you're doing a wonderful job at that. No, I'm here for two reasons. The first is Mike Jenkins."

I nodded. I had a feeling that I'll be talking to Michael about him. It must be a big deal if Michael has came to talk to him about Mike.

"What about Mike?" I asked.

"He is right."

"About what?"

"He was right about him knowing a lot about angels."

I looked astonished. "Really?"

"Yes."

"How? How does he know about angels? Your kind."

He looked at me. He had an amused expression on his face.

"Same way you have. He met a fallen angel."

My brow shot skyward as my eyes widened as wide as they could go. I let out a gasp.

"What?"

"Yes. He met a fallen angel. One of the few good fallen angels on earth other than Elesia. Mike fell for this fallen angel. She is kind fallen angel. She's not as loving and gentle as Elesia, but she is very close. In honesty, I don't remember why we cast her out of heaven. She has been on earth for nine years.

"What is the fallen angel's name?"

Michael looked down for a few seconds before looking up again.

"Her name is Halea. Halea, from what I saw, has been living a good life. She's been a teacher for the past three years, dealing with human children. She loved to see their smiles."

I smiled at this. Halea sounds like a good person. But I realized something.

"Why are you telling me this?"

"Because Halea can help you with Elesia. Halea knows what she's going through."

"How do we find her?" I asked.

"Mike knows where she is. He can lead you to her. But she may come to you. Still, you must wait till Elesia is comfortable."

I nodded. "Okay. I'll wait."

He turns towards me, a serious look on his face.

"The other reason I came is to warn you. There is another fallen angel here. And it's not a friendly one."

"Another fallen angel?"

"Yes. But this fallen angel isn't like Elesia or Halea. This fallen angel has malice in it's heart. You need to be careful. It may come after Elesia. If it does, I'll be forced to intervene, but I don't know if it will or not."

"Who is the fallen angel?" I asked. I need to know who to keep an eye on.

"I don't know, or rather, remember who this fallen angel is. But it may have been the one who sabotaged those generators."

"Okay. I'll keep an eye out for this fallen angel. I'll also look for Halea when Elesia is ready."

"Very well. Now, I must leave. I'll talk to Elesia later. Goodbye for now, Anthony."

Michael begins walking away, and disappeared as he descend the stairs.

I turned back toward the generators, now thinking.

'I must find this fallen angel before it can harm Elesia. I also must find Halea."

I nodded. "And I will. For now, I must go and see Elesia."

I turn around and begin the long walk to my office at the top of Celestial Corp.

Who is this Halea and how can she help Elesia. Who is this fallen angel with malice in it's heart? What will happen next? Find out next time. Don't forget to comment or vote.
