2 | Nimue | The Soul God

I had woken up early. Like extremely early. The light hasn't even shine the sky yet. The first thing I did was get ready for the day. Brushing my teeth, and combing out my hair as I've noticed the curls on my head tightening into a cocoon again and locking up. I wasn't the hair type of person. I didn't know what I was doing with my hair for it to end up like this.
I didn't care as much either, but maybe I should.

After washing my face and applying natural sources of earth onto my skin. I went to put on my favorite sun dress that was a light pink and went well with my hair. Well, so I thought.

"What the heck?" My sister was perplexed to see my hair. She was frozed in front of me with this wide eye stare. I covered my head shamefully which had changed the expression on her face.

"Don't cover what makes you, you.. Sorry for what I said earlier." She'd let out a sigh as she approached me.

Even her lectures were embarrassing to me.

"Let me braid your hair." She said to me.

"So now you want to fix my hair after saying it's beautiful? Yeah, okay!" I rolled my eyes.

"Stop that. You know I didn't mean it. Also cornrows is always so pretty on you." She hugged me from behind and I let out a small sigh.

So I sat down on a cloud that had formed right under me. She had braided my hair back into cornrows. The way she braided was also so tight, but it had to be. She added sunflower seeds underneath the large braids and even placed a few on my scalp.

"You always look so pretty in cornrows, I'm jealous." She says to me.

I smiled.

"Thank you sister, you have to teach me how to braid one of these days." I turn to look at her with a smile.

"How about after your coronation?" She'd look at me as she went to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I got up, stretching my arms and back after sitting for what felt like forever.

"Let's go." My sister came out the bathroom. She had grabbed her knitted satchel that was entwined with pieces of nature that she collected.

Then we both left right out the door together.

The building is large, and large for a good reason. One side of the building, there are the boys hall known as the Gods and then the girls hall on the otherside is called the Godesses. Then we have different floors where each of our classes are scattered in hallways of many doors.

The first class I have with my sister.

Home-room.

It's my comfort class because all assignments are done in class and after we're done we can just leave. But today particularly it's just a listening day since it's coronation day for some and Genesis Day for all.

I was sitting in my desk, but right behind the God of Souls. His name is Grey. He acts dark and mysterious. Call him emo if you want, but say it to his face you'll most likely get punched. He's so tall and I could never see because of his height, and even while sitting down he's tall.

"Uhm, excuse me Grey." My voice fell quiet when I tried to be loud enough for him to only hear, but he just ignores me it seems. Which made it even more embarrassing and difficult for me to speak to him.

"Grey, I can't see." My voice sound whiny.

"Then move seats." He said immediately.

"Or maybe you should move your tall ass in the back.. Seems more logical to me." I whispered to myself.

"What did you say to me?" He got up turning around. Did he hear me? He grabs me by the collar, lifting me up from my seat.

"You think you're so smart after receiving that academic achiever award. Don't you miss scholar?" He asked. Uh, yeah maybe just a little bit? I felt my heart began to race. The realization suddenly hit me as he held me up. What if the headmaster was talking about Grey? I mean he has a violent nature.

"You wouldn't hit a girl would you? For the god of souls you are very soulless.." I uttered out of fear. What if he's killed someone? They had to be secretive for a reason.

"Soulless I am then." I watched as he slowly raised his other fist. He was going to hit me. I would freeze immediately.

"Grey sit down. What is wrong with you?" My sister arrived and pushed Grey as he now dropped me. I hit my elbow onto the desk with a bam as I fell awkwardly between the desk. A few students would burst into laughter. I embarrassingly got up.

"Well control your mouthy sister." He turned to her. Great, now he's yelling at her.

"You don't have to assert dominance on everything that moves!" She'd hollered at his face.

I watch as the two argued, as they scream at each other at the top of their lungs. At some point students from other classes and in the hallway would look from the door while watching as they argue. The Gods and Goddesses in our class would chuckle at the sight. Grey suddenly grabbed onto my sisters wrist. I grabbed a book that happens to be on top of the desk next to mine and I threw it at the back of his head with a bam.

Instant silence filled the room. Grey slowly had turned around, holding this soulless gaze. I fearfully took a deep breath as I stepped back some.

"I am sorry." My voice leaped as he walked closer to me and held his fist up. I closed my eyes, prepared for a punch in the face. But when I opened them. My sister was on Grey's back, holding him back with her arm around his neck. My sister was getting nailed in the stomach with his elbow so I sprinted and kicked him right in the balls. He fell backwards right on top of my sister, who scrambled away.

"You think I won't hit a girl?" He got up with a painful expression. The way he walked, he was limping. My sister was going to punch him again, but he grabbed her wrist and twisted it behind her back. Then he kicked my poor sister into the desk. I jumped at the sound when she hit the desks on impact.

"I don't have powers." I announced as he makes his way towards me.

"I am fragile, you can kill me Grey!" I hollered. He grabs my neck. Pulling me up into the air. I clasped onto his arms. I felt my shoulders disconnecting with the rest of my neck.

Finally, Akal and Erasmus was pushing through the crowd, Erasmus had tackled Grey into the chair and I was thrown over a desk and landed on someones lap.

"Sorry." I said as I got up. He was really trying to kill me. I look over at Grey. The worst part is that no one tried to help. I rubbed my left shoulder as I just stared fearfully.

"Are you okay?" Akal asked. He rubbed my shoulders as if he were massaging them. I nod my head. Not even thinking about him as of this moment.

"You two need to separate, because clearly someone can't keep their hands to themselves." Erasmus had Grey pinned to the table.

"You're lucky I am yielding. I would have had your ass on the floor." Grey raised his voice. I watched Akal turn.

"What about me Grey? Last time we sparred I don't think my ass was on the floor, not once." His gaze became cold. Grey wouldn't have said anything. He had just grumbled and pouted like a child.

"I'm sorry that your soul is so dark Grey." Erasmus said with an apologetic tone. Grey would have got up, forcing his body weight against his. Erasmus had no chance of pinning this guy. Grey turned around, and stared him down. Erasmus was keeping his guard up. They would just have stood there staring at each other until Akal grabbed the back of Erasmus neck and pulled him.

"Stop that, we're trying to stop a fight, not jump into one." Akal says. Erasmus couldn't help but to laugh.

"Dude was testing me." He says. I watched Erasmus walk over to my sister. He carefully had helped her up and was holding her, rubbing her elbow as he guided her to a seat. Is Erasmus and my sister a thing? Does that mean I have a chance with him? I look over to Akal but it seems that he had other plans. He sat at the desk behind my sister. I just listened to their conversation.

"You didn't have to go that far." Akal says.

"She's my sister. I have to go that far and I'm willing to go that far." She'd argued. Akal raised both of his hands up in surrender.

"Don't argue with me too, I'm innocent." He says. I smiled at the comment.

"I'm not—I am just frustrated is all." She said. I watch as she rest her forehead against the desk. The look Akal gave to my sister. He cared so much about her as I wish he showed that to me. My sister is so lucky. When will she do the favor I yearned so much for?

Akal looked in my direction and he locked eye contact with me. His eyes motion slightly down. I didn't know what he was staring at then, but I wish it were my lips. He smiled at me as he turned to talk with Erasmus and my sister.

Its been about 10 minutes and the professor has yet to arrive. Students begin to sit on desk and just chill. Others were doing homework for a different class. A specific group of girls that mostly wore all pink decide to stand on the desk after pushing them together. They wore this long light pink tunic.

"Everyone part of this re is invited to the spring fling party! Be there or don't either way you'll miss out on one of my divine parties." One of the girls announced. Spring Fling party's were very crazy. They are held every year. But is anyone really going to go to the spring fling party? This year might be the most busiest for our reign. The students in class would all just nod their head and smile. Maybe the party is going to be a bust. Especially since no one is hyping it up.

"Everyone sit down." The professor finally arrived. She was clueless as she threw her bag onto her podium and class finally started. The class room door shuts and so the day has finally begun.
