Sports Festival and A Brotherly Competition

(Hey everyone, I'm back! You'll never guess what happened.

I got invited to a dnd podcast! That makes two podcasts, including the brand new "DexePencil". It took us about an hour to come up with that name.

Let's hope I can make it to the end of the story this time lol.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter!)

----------------------------------------------

A giant monitor in the stadium powered on and displayed the announcer of the entrance exams, Present Mic. "Hey! Pay attention, audience! Swarm, mass media! This year's high school adolescence that you all love, the UA sports festival is about to begin! Everybody, are you ready?!" The announcer cheered, hyping up the crowd even more than they already were. "It's time for the contestants to enter the first-year stage!" Everyone was on the edge of their seats as the students began to walk out of the dark hallway.

Fireworks and colorful blasts of puffy smoke were exploding in the sky above. "The UA sports festival! The huge tournament where, once a year, fledgling heroes come to sharpen their swords! Anyway, these are the ones, right? The class that miraculously fended off villains with hearts of steel! The heroes of Class 1-A!" Present Mic said, introducing them like a group of celebrities.

(Asriel POV)

"S-so many people..." I whispered. I felt a hand land on my shoulder and turned to see my big brother giving me a reassuring smile. I smiled back weakly and took a deep breath, and when I breathed out all my fear was gone. 'I wonder how he does that,' I thought to myself, once again admiring my older brother's amazing ability to calm me down every time I'm upset. "'Will we be able to give our best performance being watched by so many people?' This is also part of the training required to become a hero," Ilda explained. Now I can't tell if he's actually serious or if he's pretending not to be nervous. "Kind of mean to give us a red carpet. That only puts a target on our backs," Izuku explained. Kirishima nodded in agreement but Bakugou just smirked. "That only drives me further to win," Bakugou flaunted. Geez, does this guy ever shut up?!

"They haven't been getting as much airtime, but this class is full of talent! Hero Course, Class 1-B!" Mic cheered. "Next up, general studies classes C, D, and E! Support course, Classes F, G, and H are here too! And business course, Classes I, J, and K!" he continued listing off all the other classes. "All of the UA's first years are here now!" he stated, hyping up the crowd. 'Geez, such a biased competition. Undyne would be disappointed,' I thought to myself, and it seems I wasn't the only one as our homeroom teacher showed his presence in the commentator box by scolding the loud man for his rudeness.

Thanks, Aizawa.

On a stage was a raven-haired woman who was apparently our Chief Umpire... she reminds me of Mettaton. Luckily, since Izu and I hung around with the star of the Underground so much, we were used to this kind of fashion sense and were not phased by it in the slightest. Unfortunately, everyone else did not get the luxury of being friends with someone so popular, so they were practically tripping over themselves.

"What is Ms. Midnight wearing?" Kirishima asked, doing his best to avert his eyes while also trying his best to pay attention to her. What a good boy. "That's an R-Rated hero for you," Kaminari stated. "Is it okay for her to be at a high school even though she's R-Rated?" Tokoyami asked, more concerned for her than anything. An even gooder good boy. "Perverts," I heard my brother whisper, earning him a lot of nods in response. Kaminari looked at me and Izu in sudden surprise. "How are you not affected by her beauty?! There is a gorgeous woman on a stage for you to see and you just aren't interested?!" he asked, sounding as if he was questioning our intentions.

Izu looked at him, dead in the eyes, with his "neutral face of displeasure" and explained our friendship with Mettaton, striking multiple gazes of jealousy from within the crowd of students while terrifying Kaminari. I will never not laugh at that face, it gets me every time. Though my sudden burst of laughter seemed to confuse some students while angering the others. "Hahaha S-stop l-looking at t-them like that! Y-you hehe, k-know I *giggle* c-can't handle that *snicker* f-face of yours!" I said between giggles. He suddenly turned his gaze at me, making me laugh even harder.

"Is that so? -_-" he asked.

(Not my art ^^^)

"BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!"

After a few seconds of losing control, I started coughing and hacking due to lack of oxygen.

(Nobody POV)

"Quiet everyone!" Midnight yelled, cracking her whip. "I am going to call the representative of Class 1-A, Izuku Dreemur, to give a speech!" she called. Whispers of curiosity and awe passed amongst the crowd. Everyone opted to ignore Bakugou's annoying screeches of protest. "Isn't that the ambassador?" one voice asked. "I heard he has multiple quirks," another said, and oh, the irony. "I heard he destroyed the zero-pointer by throwing debris at it," a female voice whispered to the girl next to her. A few students nearby gasped and kept whispering praises about how strong he was and how nobody could defeat him.

Izuku stood at the podium calmly. Those who don't know him would have thought they were in the presence of a king. The way his stern yet soothing eyes brought a feeling of hope and warmth. The way his perfectly straight stature let off the feeling of leadership. The way his strong muscles showed through his gym suit gave a feeling of security (and a bit of lust from some horny teenage girls). He looked like the very definition of maturity and intelligence. Asriel knew he was all of those things... but he also knew that Izuku had never really been on stage before aside from introducing himself as ambassador (which was on a script).

. . .

Izuku had stagefright and Asriel was the only one who knew. 'C'mon bro, you got this.' Asriel silently cheered.

"U-um... I know that everyone here has done everything they can to get here, and I congratulate you on that... but, I want you to know that there will always be someone stronger, someone faster, someone smarter. There will always be someone better than you..." he began, starting a few negative whispers. Kids were muttering insults and jeers. "Wow what a douche-"

"...But I also want you to know that you are never truly good enough until you are satisfied with where you are. SO! I want everyone to fight as hard as they can in this festival and then fight even harder! I want you all to push yourselves into the best people you can be! Fight me with everything you've got and then STAND PROUD! Because as long as you did your best, as long as you fought as hard as you could, then you are the winner! Those who don't try, those who give up, those who say "I can't do this", THOSE ARE THE ONES WHO LOSE THE FIGHT! Because I am here to tell you that you can! THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU IS STRONG! No matter who or even what you are, whether you have a weak quirk, a villainous quirk, or even none at all doesn't matter, because as long as you never give up, YOU CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO BE!! I am here to tell you, that ANYONE CAN BE A HERO!! So I want each and every person here to do their very best and then more. I want you to go..."

"PLUS ULTRA!!!" everyone cheered, pumping their fists high into the air.

Izuku walked down the stage with everyone smiling and praising him for his amazing speech. With high spirits, the festival started off with a roar. Midnight announced the first stage of the festival was an obstacle race. "As long as you stay on course, it doesn't matter what you do!" she announced. One shared look was all it took for the brothers to know that chaos they were about to start.

. . .

Izuku and Asriel didn't move as the contestants shoved each other around in the tunnel. They didn't move when a heavy chill filled the air, signaling that Todoroki made it through. They didn't move when half of their classmates followed soon after. They didn't budge from their position when the movement finally came to a complete stop. They merely stood there... waiting. The reason?

They were about to have another race to see who got the first piece of their mother's pie.

When they had finished giving the students their ten-second head start, they crouched down into a sprinting position, standing directly beside each other. "Oh? What's this?" Mic asked, pointing out the two students still at the starting line. "The Dreemurs seem to be having a competition of their own! Brotherly rivals at its finest, folks! It takes a lot of confidence to give a head start to the competition! Let's see if who wins the race, shall we listeners?!" Present Mic cheered, earning a curious silence in response.

The crowd watched as Izuku's shoes turned blue, while Asriel's eyes turned black and spread two sharp streaks down his cheeks. One moment they stood at the gate, and in the blink of an eye they were gone. Following their vanishing act was a booming shockwave that shook the building, surprising everyone in the stands. "And with that AMAZING display of power, the final contestants have entered the race!" Present Mic announced.

(Izuku POV)

Upon making it through the hall, we were met with 3 zero-pointers. Seeing as I wanted to save up my strength for the finals, I decided to dodge them instead of fighting them, though I did kick the one that was landed on Kirishima. I gave a quick glance behind me to check if he was alright, and he gave me a thumbs up, along with that silver-haired jerk from 1-B who appeared to have a similar quirk. One by one, our classmates opted to jump over the machines, just like me and Azzy.

Which reminds me... I have my own race to finish.

Quickly getting back on track, I zoomed through the streets, dodging all the students who made it through. After a few minutes of weaving through the crowd, I saw a familiar white blur and immediately quickened my pace. "Hey, Hay! The first barrier's a piece of cake? Then get a taste of the second!" Present Mic commented. "If you fall you're out! If you don't wanna fall then crawl! It's 'The Fall'!" he continued.

A quick glance to the left revealed my brother standing there, looking at the pillars of stone, all of them very far apart but connected by a thick tightrope. Taking this opportunity of hesitation, I jumped from pillar to pillar. I didn't even bother with the rope. "C'mon, bro! Hurry up or you'll lose again!" I taunted. Finally snapped out of his trance, he quickly jumped after me. As I was jumping, I heard a maniacal laugh catching up to me. I doubted it was Asriel, so I let curiosity get the best of me and looked behind me to see a pink-haired girl covered in machines flying through the air, devices on her hips, back, and feet.

Impressive!

Making a mental note to befriend her later, I regained my focus and sprinted to the end. Adding to the pink-haired female's laughter was angry shouting. I didn't even have to look to know who that was. Ignoring the annoying screeches, I quickly caught up with my little brother. "You're getting faster, Azzy! Get first in one of the games and I'll buy you whatever candy you want!" I cheered. Upon hearing my offer, he quickly took the bait and disappeared from my sight. I laughed and ran faster.

. . .

~Meanwhile back in Newer Home~

Every monster and human alike had taken the day off to watch the Sports Festival and each and every living creature there was rooting for the two Dreemurs. They were all on the edge of their seats, cheering for them to win.

The Dreemurs, Skeletons, and all of their friends were in the living room with snacks and food. Sans and Gaster were commenting on Asriel's sudden increase in speed, and Sans said that Izuku must have baited him, seeing as the boy in question had just said something to his brother before the young monster prince disappeared from the screen. Alphys and Asgore were waving tiny flags in their hands, each flag having a picture of the boys on them. Papyrus and Undyne were being scolded by Toriel for cheering too loud, as the TV could no longer be heard.

All in all, everyone was excited for them.

. . .

~Back with our protagonists~

(Asriel POV)

"And now, we've quickly arrived at the final barrier... a minefield!" the loud man cheered. "It's set up so you can tell where the mines are if you look carefully! So you have to exploit with your eyes and legs!" He continued. Even with that little tip to gain some leverage, I couldn't help but worry. I knew Izuku would be okay, he can dodge or block just as good as Sans, and Sans is fast. I wasn't worried about big brother, no, I was worried for everyone else. What were they thinking using a minefield?! People could actually get seriously hurt! Man, Mom would throw a fit if she was here.

"By the way, since the Sports Festival is just a game, the bombs aren't that powerful, but they're loud and flashy enough to make you wet your pants!" Present Mic assured. "That depends on the person," Aizawa commented. 'Oh good, no one is going to get hurt,' I thought, letting out a sigh of relief. I opened my eyes to see my brother passing me with a grin on his face. 'OH NO YOU DON'T!' Quickly jumping into the minefield to follow my brother, we increased our speeds to outrun the explosives, leaving the students behind us to make it through on their own. "And would you look at that? The two Dreemurs are already here, and their neck-and-neck! Who is going to win first place? It's hard to say!" the yellow hero said, dramatically waving his hands around in various poses.

Nearing the end of the minefield, setting off every bomb in our path along the way, I heard some voices behind us but ignored them. All I needed to focus on is winning this race! Even if I don't win, a tie is better than nothing! Izu and I had gotten past the minefield when a maniacal female laugh rang out. She sounded a bit far off but was rapidly approaching, unlike Bakugou who was slowly closing in. Unfortunately, they were far too slow as I had neared the finish line and was only a few steps away from victory! "UA Sports Festival, first-year stage! Who could have predicted this unlikely outcome?" The loud hero asked, hyping up the crowd.

"And the winner is-

.

.

.

"THE DREEMURS!! It's UA's very first... TIE!!" he announced.

(And that's a wrap!

I've been working on some art again lately and I daresay I'm doing pretty good. I think I should make some original art more though, so I have more of my own art to base new pieces on.

I hope you liked this part, I did my best to make it funny.

I've been meaning to write a chapter about Izuku finally "meeting" his human mom. So basically, he gets his memory of the surface back and remembers his past.

So, I'll set up another vote. "Izu meets mom"

> Yes

> No

And with that, thanks for reading and I'll see you soon!

Love you!~)
