Final Exams are coming! Momo to the Rescue!

(So many side chapters lately. I'm honestly having fun pointing out how well Izuku and 1-B get along. I think we all need these wholesome moments in our lives, and I am more than happy to supply your daily dose of Serotonin.

And with that said, here's another chapter for you all to enjoy.)

--------------------------------------------------------

(Shoto POV)

"Alright, that's it for today," Aizawa announced, tapping the graded papers on the podium. "There's only one week left until the final exams. You've all been studying properly, I hope? I'm sure you already know but it won't just be a written exam. There's also a practical component. Make sure you train your minds and bodies at the same time. That's all," He finished, leaving the classroom. As soon as the door closed, the chatter started up. Kaminari was freaking out about not studying while Mina was laughing about doing the same. "With the sports festival and internships, I didn't get a chance to study!" he whined. He and Mina had gotten last place in the last test. "It's true that we had one event after another, but..." Tokoyami quietly added that he had gotten 14th place. People were making excuses left and right, but that didn't really matter in the end. We had a chance to study after all. Tenya had placed fourth and Bakugou was seething about getting fifth place, not that anyone paid him any mind. I had placed sixth, right behind Bakugou. Izuku got first, Momo got second, and Asriel had gotten third. "You two, Izuku, and I may be of some assistance-" Momo offered, but was interrupted by Izuku. "Hey Todoroki, you need some more help studying?" I nodded, "Yes, that would be nice thank you. It seems I didn't pay enough attention yesterday. My apologies for wasting your time," I told him. "Don't worry about it. You're welcome to drop by any time if you ever need anything," he assured.

"Oh, sorry Momo you were saying something?" Izuku asked, now realizing Momo's deflated aura. "Ah, so you've already befriended each other? Wonderful..." Momo whimpered. I wasn't sure what she was so upset about, though. She had every chance to befriend him before now, why was she so butthurt? Perhaps it's because I had opted to interact with the top two rather than my other classmates. "I was asking if you would be willing to assist our class with lectures..." She replied, earning cheers from the two in last place. "I can't help in the practical, though," she said gloomily. "Hey, I'm not one of those two, but can I join too? I'm having some trouble with quadratic functions..." Jirou asked. "Huh?" Momo hummed, now noticing the girl in front of her desk. "Sorry, me too! How are you with classical Japanese?" Sero asked, suddenly appearing next to Jirou. "I'd like to join, too. There's a bunch of stuff I don't get," Ojirou said walking over to join the party. "Please!" They begged. Momo seemed to enjoy the attention, as she sparkled in joy. "Yes, of course!" she shouted, jumping out of her seat. "All right!" they cheered.

"Then, let us hold a study session at my residence this weekend!" she sang, a dreamy smile painting her expression. "Seriously? I can't wait to see your house!" Mina chimed. "Oh, in that case, I must tell Mother and have her open up the hall! What kind of tea are you partial to? In my family we always drink Harrod's or Wedgewood so if you have any preference, let me know! Of course, you can trust me to help you study, too! I will definitely show you how I can help!" she rambled, bouncing around like a little kid. "Well, Azzy and I usually drink Golden Flower or Green tea, sometimes Oo Lang. If you have any of those, that would be nice. I would be willing to help if you don't mind helping me with a bit of my own work," Izuku asked. "Of course! I'm a bit surprised that you would choose a tea so normal, though. You're royalty aren't you?" she asked. "Well, not anymore, but Golden Flower tea was a national drink in the Underground, considering the buttercup was the national flower. It was chosen because it was the first plant to ever grow in the dark caves, so it's treasured greatly," Izuku explained. "Oh, I get it! It's a traditional drink custom to your kingdom because it's precious! A trademark tea for a trademark flower. How fitting, I apologize for questioning your decisions," she said. "No, it's okay. It's not every day you hear rich kids living common lives. I can understand the confusion," he replied.

It was another few minutes of talk about tea and snack traditions before they finally got back on topic, making the rest of the crowd smile at the cute conversation. Even though it felt like they were slapped with the difference in their lives, the bounciness of the two seemed to wash away all their woes. "Izuku's house is surprisingly comfortable and warm. I wonder what Yaoyorozu's is like," I wondered out loud. "Wait you've been to his house?!" Mina shouted in surprise. I nodded, "There was a study session with all of 1-B at his house yesterday, and I just happened to be invited to dinner. One thing led to another and the study session became a very productive sleepover," I explained. Kaminari and Mina seemed to sulk at this information. "What's it like? I bet he's got halls of gold with all that money he gets as an ambassador!" Sero chimed. "Actually, he has the wage of an intern," I corrected.

A sound of chorused surprise swept over the crowd. "His house is large, yet somehow looks normal. It's big enough to house both hero classes, Professor Gaster's family, and all of the Dreemurs. Despite this, it's very comfortable. It's retro, traditional, modern, and chaotic at the same time, but it ties together so perfectly that you can't help but admire every inch of it. The air is warm, welcoming, and full of more love and happiness than you could ever imagine. Every inch of that house is comfortable and cozy, and it makes you want to stay forever," I told them, reminiscing on the sweet memory. "Additionally, his mother is a teacher, and his father is a gardener. They got all their money from transferring all the gold they had from the Underground. Transferring their lives from a monarchy to a republic was the financial boost of a lifetime. It was like every single monster won the biggest lottery ticket in the world. That's why everyone lives so comfortably, despite having such normal careers," I explained.

"Dude... I've never been so jealous, man..." Kaminari muttered, earning a chorus of nods in response. "I doubt it's as big as Yaoyorozu's though. Monsters are very good at money management and don't really spend much. They tend to spare their wallets more than large companies do," I said, pointing out another difference in the families. "Izuku lives in a large house, but the Yaoyorozu's live in a giant mansion with many different areas that they probably don't even use. The Dreemur's live in a home, the Yaoyorozu's live in a company. Don't expect anything less than a castle out of her..." I finished, worried about the temperature in her house. I don't mind her kindness, but I would much prefer the fuzzy warmth of the Dreemur house again. My dreamy state was accompanied by giggles from Uraraka, but I didn't care... pie... I want pie...

. . .

Izuku and I had opted to sit with his friend group while Asriel stuck to his own. That's not to say that Monoma didn't pick on Asriel's friends. He didn't jab at Asriel, which made the others feel singled out... but it was pretty funny to see their reactions. Izuku sat down with a bowl of Katsudon, and I sat with a bowl of cold soba. Unfortunately, none of the three pies they had looked anywhere near as good as Toriel's. The only one that got close was a cheesecake, but that's hardly even a pie. 'And here I thought Lunch Rush could cook. He needs cooking lessons from Mrs. Toriel,' I thought to myself. At least the soba was good. "... You're thinking about mom again, aren't you, Todoroki-kun?" Izuku asked. "... pie... none of the pie here is any good... I want pie..." I muttered in defeat. Laughter rang around the table as they mocked my misery, only upsetting me further. "Yeah, mom's pie is the best. But her real specialty is snail pie," he said. I looked up in shock. "Wait... you can put snails in a pie?" I asked incredulously. "Yep, it's the bomb. Come by and try it sometime," he offered. I nodded, seeing yet another excuse to drop by. The others were disgusted at this conversation, but I was more interested in the strange pie. 'Maybe I'll take a slice or two home to share with Fuyumi. I heard snails taste like chicken and feel like mushrooms. Chicken-mushroom pie? Chicken pot pie? Well, Father can't complain about it not being good for me,' I quietly mused.

"Hey, Izuku," Itsuka called. Izuku hummed in response, still chewing his food. "Should we have told your classmates about it being the teachers and not the robots? I feel kinda bad for lying to them," she said, slowly looking more and more distressed. "Nah, they need to figure it out for themselves. If they can't gather their own information, then they will get killed in the field. You played the role of someone who was paid to keep a secret, and they were too gullible to notice because they thought they were getting information from someone lower than them. They might not say it, but they do think too highly of themselves. You did them a favor. Good job, Itsuka-san," Izuku argued. Monoma nodded in agreement. "Well said, Izuku. Those class A idiots needed to be put in their place," Monoma said. "No offense to you and your brother, though." Izuku waved his hand in dismissal as he took another bite of his food.

Note to self: 'Pay more attention to facial expressions and body language.'

. . .

Upon arriving back to the classroom, I listened as the two class idiots were ranting about how easy the practicals would be. "They really fell for it..." I muttered quietly. "Yep. I'm really disappointed in them, but at least they'll learn from this. Even better that they are spreading false info. Shows how blindly they trust each other," Izuku replied. Asriel let out a deep sigh, "You two, I swear..." he whispered, "I was wondering why you didn't let me correct them. Guess now I know, huh?" He mused. Our small little meeting was interrupted by Bakugou challenging everyone to do better in the rudest way possible, while simultaneously angering Izuku by rubbing in his "uselessness". Why are you like this, Bakugou? Why?

"Man it's been a while since I've seen Bakugou like this," Kirishima said nervously. "Intense..." Kaminari said gloomily, still hurt from being called an idiot. "Impatient?" Mina asked, more curious than anything. Bakugou stormed out of the classroom long before they started talking, slamming his door on the way out. He really is a ticking time bomb. "That angry pomeranian needs to calm down," Asriel joked, getting a few small laughs, still nervous from Bakugou's intimidating aura. "Don't worry, His bark is worse than his bite. I'm sure his burning rage will cool down eventually," Izuku joked, assisting Asriel's attempts to lighten the mood. His efforts were proven to be successful when everyone burst into laughter. Even Asriel chuckled a bit at Izuku's terrible puns.

. . .

The weekend came and the small study group arrived at the Youyorozu estate. I was a bit surprised at the lack of people who actually came. The small group of eight consisted of me, Asriel, Izuku, Ojirou, Sero, Kaminari, Mina, and Jirou. I guess the only ones that came were the ones that needed it. Luckily, her house wasn't far from UA, but Izuku and Asriel had brought duffle bags for some reason. It didn't make any sense, considering everyone else just had their bags full of school supplies. We weren't staying the night, right?

"Wow," Kaminari sighed, intimidated by the size of the front gate. "Yep, this is about what I expected... I've never wanted to see a wooden fence more than I do right now," I said to myself, earning a snort from Izuku and a muffled giggle from Asriel. Luckily, they were the only ones who heard me, which meant we were getting a funny look from Ojirou, who was right next to us. Jirou continued Kaminari's statement, "I knew she was rich, but I didn't know she was this rich. You weren't kidding about her place being big, huh Todoroki?" I nodded silently, wondering if I should've asked her for some pie earlier... Nope, Toriel is the ultimate chef. Tea and cookies will suffice.

She did get the Golden Flower tea, right? I hope she did.

Jirou pressed the doorbell and the reply was immediate. "Everyone! I have been waiting for you! Please come in," Momo's voice said through the intercom. The large metal gate opened to reveal a long and well-maintained driveway. Walking up the driveway, reaching the house, walking into the house, and navigating the maze of a house was a nightmare. Every step was another reminder of how low-class everyone was. Even the Dreemurs look sick to their stomachs at the sheer size of everything and the luxury of it all. Even sitting at the long table was unsettling to us all.

Unlike everyone else who had one notebook and a pencil case, Asriel had pulled out a few notebooks and papers. Apparently, he hadn't finished his homework. Instead of a pencil case, he had a small box of various pens, pencils, colored pencils, highlighters, a couple of erasers, and a pencil sharpener. All of that from his little yellow backpack... he's certainly prepared, that's for sure. Not long after everyone was settled, they sat there waiting for Izuku and Momo to arrive. "I feel so out of place, it's making me nervous..." Ojirou said. Sero agreed, looking around at the fancy and very expensive decorations.

As if on cue, Izuku and Momo strolled out with tea and snacks. Momo rolled out a cart with a beautiful tea set and a plate of small treats, while Izuku carried a tray of cookies and another tray with a- "BUTTERSCOTCH-CINNAMON PIE! YES! THANK YOU, IZUKU!" I cheered, surprising everyone in the room. Izuku laughed while Momo blinked in confusion. Asriel gave a nervous smile while I was practically racing out of my seat to help carry it, though it was really just an excuse to hold the precious treat. I had to slow down so as to not drop the pie, but we all got the food safely to the table and began the lesson.

Momo was very thorough with her teaching, but it was still confusing for the three stooges. Luckily for them, Izuku notice their troubles and personally guided them through the problems until they understood. Ojirou, Jirou, and I understood the material easily, but the thought of them not understanding disheartened her a little before Izuku clarified that "some people just need an extra push". With that, we continued the lesson; Momo explaining, and Izuku helping when needed. It was even easier to understand than last time, now that there were fewer people to work with.

. . .

(Narrator POV)

When everything had been covered, we all took a break. Izuku and Momo, however, took the break as a chance to do work. Apparently, Izuku was given the task of coming up with laws to further equalize the balance between magic and quirks while maintaining the balance between villains and heroes. "They are worried about villains taking over Newer Home, or trying to use us as a base of operations and they want to use some sort of security to keep that from happening," Izuku explained. "I mean that makes sense, but the way it's worded almost sounds more like segregation than separation. They are trying to remove all humans from the monster settlements 'for safety precautions' by sliding some underhanded lies into a legal document. This sounds shady, Izuku. I don't like it," She pointed out. "Yeah, I've figured that much out. But it's been signed without my consent, so this is more of a statement than an offer. The only way I can overturn this is with the help of the Hero Commission. I might be able to get Hawks to put a word in for me, and maybe even convince a few other heroes and representatives to take my side, but the public would have to be on board with this, too. There would have to be a vote to put this into action. How much influence do you think I have?" Izuku fussed. "More than you think. And hey, my family has quite a bit of power over the Hero Commission with how much funding we put into them. We can call in one of the many favors they owe us and have them overturn this immediately," she suggested, trying to comfort him. "But I don't want them to! If they take control of this case, they have a chance to take control of monster rights, and I'm already taking risks as it is. I can't afford that, Yaoyorozu-san," he argued. "You won't need to take risks if we force them to let you continue to have full rights over monsterkind. As long as they see you as a hero, they will still think they have a small bit of control over you and let you do whatever you want. That means full power over the court, should they try anything else like this again," she argued.

Izuku seemed to think about this for a while, and continued to talk about the pros and cons of the situation. It took a lot of convincing on Momo's part, but Izuku agreed to share partial control in the case with her. Have her call in a favor and give Izuku control, while being the insurance plan in case they fight back and win against Izuku. They might not listen to a quirkless kid, but they'll listen to her without a doubt. Add the heroes, Hero Commission, the public, and most of the Underworld (which was apparently on their side because of Stain), and you get an impenetrable defense. There was no way this law was going to pass. "Just let me take care of everything, Izuku-kun. I promise I won't let you down!" Momo claimed, eyes full of determination. Izuku stared for a moment before sighing. "Alright, I'll trust you. Please win, Yaoyorozu-san," Izuku said, giving a tired smile. "I will. And please, just call me Momo." Izuku nodded and pulled up his email while Momo pulled out her phone.

This was going to take a while.

--------------------------------------------------------

(That last bit was a peek into the hell that Izuku has to deal with every other day. I'm sure you can pick up on the clues for future chapters here. Izuku is getting more and more support by the minute, but he still doubts himself. I'm starting to add more events where 1-A has a chance to redeem themselves and befriend Izuku. Once everyone has made an effort to find a place in his life, I'll do another vote to see if you guys still want him in class 1-B.

But here is a vote that I need because I'm pretty torn on this.

> Shinsou goes to 1-A

> Kosei goes to 1-A

Because on one hand, it's canon that Shinsou makes it to 1-A and everyone is happy with it. But on the other hand, it's in my plot that Shinsou is Izuku's second-best friend (next to Asriel, of course) and Kosei won third place in the sports festival, thus proving his skills.

Please vote on this, I can't decide.

And as always, thanks for reading!)
