Fallout

(Hello everyone! I was rereading my chapters and thought about the character arcs I haven't gotten to yet. Me procrastinating again. I also need to not focus on little side chapters and details so much. But now that our main villain is out of the way, we have the time to get around to the stuff I have yet to touch. It's finally time to pick up the plot points I've been avoiding for too long! XD

Just like Sans' abandoned sock.

So, with a well-appreciated meme I made for you all, here we go!)

-----------------------------------------------------

(Izuku POV)

It took a while for things to settle down after the fight. After defeating All For One and healing All Might, I ran to help the rescue and recovery teams in the area. All Might also did his best with the strength I just gave him. It took a few more minutes for paramedics to arrive, only for them to realize how useful my magic was, and started asking me to help them more. It took a few hours to get everyone out, and finally, let them check me over so I could go home. But the next day the police came to interrogate me about the events that transpired. I managed to keep Coin Toss a secret, but everything else was true... I also somehow evaded telling them the true purpose of my being kidnapped. Neither side can risk our reputations for video games.

I am currently in a meeting room with Hawks, as we are discussing my new role in society. The name "Angel" was already known to the public and I was going to take the provisional license exam soon, but then All For One happened and now I am being given an emergency license. While my actions could legally be considered both self-defense and defense of others, there are still laws that go against murder. The only reason my record is as spotless as is right now is because of the crimes committed by the man I killed. All For One had a death sentence anyway, so I only did them a favor by getting to him first. Besides, the world wouldn't take too kindly to me being arrested for killing him of all people. I got off easy with the simple warning "I just had to be more careful from now on".

As of this moment, however, the board and commission are discussing how many titles I am going to take, and how many I am going to keep. Hospitals and hero agencies alike were doing their very best to get a hold of me, and UA can only protect me for so long. I won't be a student forever, so having my own agency will be the only way to avoid being pulled in every direction. A pro hero has control of certain areas provided by the government, kinda like a law-abiding mafia. I would have complete control of the laws revolving around monsters and be responsible for creating an equally safe environment for humans and monsters alike- which made me their president. Because of my many abilities, I was going to be called upon as a hero for more dangerous missions; mainly stealth, and rescue, as that was my preference. And as the one who healed a fatal injury that was apparently there for five years, I was deemed capable of curing any injury or disease, so I would be used in dire situations where I am their only hope.

Overall, I was the nameless trump card.

The agency was already decided upon, but now I needed a team. I could call upon my brother, but I wanted him to get his license first. I also recommended Hatsume industries for any support gear and Uraraka Co. for all construction. My trust in those companies was personal and greatly agreed upon, but there were some backup companies I had to shuffle through. Shield industries looked promising, but it was all the way in America on I-Island. Sure my travel costs would be covered, but I would probably only use them for projects I would use in any international missions I come across. My home is in Japan, after all. As for construction, Cementoss had a side company called Bone Foundations (I did not laugh at the construction pun) that helped him out a lot and was willing to help me too if I asked. I signed off on those and we moved on to the next step... sidekicks.

I needed a secretary I could trust to take care of meetings, calls, notes, etc. but I didn't trust anyone enough to do that. Not with what's at stake. So paperwork in the field of monsterkind would be left to me for the time being, but I had to find someone eventually. What mattered the most right now, though, was my hero position. I needed someone to run the agency when I'm gone, someone to deal with the paperwork, someone to work alongside me, and a team to back me up. I made it known that when Asriel got his license, he would be my main partner and co-owner, but everyone else is up for debate, which left quite a bit of room for discussion. The commission had offered some of their personal heroes, but the board didn't like that idea, as the commission had already pulled enough strings as it was. The board offered to put my whole class in, but the commission denied it as that took away too many opportunities for the young heroes to grow. Things were getting heated, so I decided now was a good time to intervene.

"Hey, how about we open our doors to other hero schools?"

The room went dead quiet. Everyone stared at me for a good five seconds before Kuno Kazuo- the main thorn in my side- stood out of his seat, only to be grabbed and pulled back down. The one pulling him down was the next to stand, Gima Toshio: the peacekeeper of the board. "Please elaborate on your statement, Angel," he politely requested. I gladly obliged. "As you know, UA's rival hero school is Shiketsu. My thought process was that if I want to open up opportunities for my fellow heroes-in-training, why choose only the ones I know when I have access to so much more? Since there are only two hero classes at UA, and most students want to take their own path, I concluded that the road we are currently on is too narrow and that we need to broaden our horizons. There are hundreds of hero schools in Japan to choose from, but very few of them produce actual results worth looking into." The commission members nodded.

"I have seen the attitude of Class 1-A and Class 1-B. My classmates are both immature and unprepared for this; they also have yet to take their provisional license exams. And while the students of 1-B are slightly more mature and prepared, they are far less experienced and quite a few have their future careers planned already. The only ones in UA I can turn to are the upper classes, none of which are available as they have already chosen the agencies they want to work for. This leaves me with very little to go on, and unknown resources I know little to nothing about. One way or another, I'm going to have to learn about my future colleagues. So, the best option at this moment in time is to open my doors to those available and probe the ones I want to hire." Everyone looked between themselves and murmured sounds of agreement. I sighed in relief and looked to the head chairman. "Does this sound like an agreeable solution to everyone?" he asked. Everyone glanced at each other one more time and then collectively nodded.

"Then it is agreed. Angel has full ownership of Delta Rune HQ, along with any and all legal benefits that it comes with. Delta Rune HQ holds all legal rights over monsterkind and monster-human relations, any and all laws must be made through Angel and his permitted associates, with no exceptions. Meeting adjourned!"

And just like that, I finally claimed peace.

. . .

"Mom, Dad! Get everyone over here!" I shouted from the front door. I ran to my room, put down my bag, and pulled out the contract. I am getting this thing framed. I quickly sent a message to 1-B, Shoto, and Momo to come over to my house ASAP. I Endeavor's personal phone line that Hawks gave me to call Shoto's dad. "Who is this and how did you get this number?" he growled. "This is Izuku Dreemur. Sorry to bother you, Endeavor-san, but I invited your son to my house for an important meeting. Please excuse his absence, I promise to take good care of him," I quickly informed him. "What is so important that you need to call this number, though? You've already done me the favor of having him over for studying once before, and you had no need to contact me then," he said, clearly confused. "Well, firstly, I didn't have your number before, so I didn't call last time. Secondly, this is not about studying, it's about politics... and maybe heroics. But I wanted to inform you so you know where he is if you don't see him at home," I calmly replied. "Oh? What happened? Do you need assistance, Angel?" he asked- wait, was he worried? No, probably curious, if anything. "Yes and no. There was a meeting today and I have my own agency now! And I won full control of monster rights, so no more court battles for bullshit laws. I wanted to offer your son a position at my agency if he wants to of course. I'm doing the same for the others I invited over. I don't expect him to join, but I wanted him to know he's welcome if chooses to work with me in the future," I said.

"I see. Well, congratulations. And if my son does choose to join your agency, I won't stop him. You have proven yourself to be a good example in more ways than one. I have no doubt he'll learn a lot from you and become stronger. Speaking of which, might I ask you to help him practice his quirk? I'd like it if he had as much control as you do, so if you could do training with him whenever he stays the night to study, it would be appreciated," My cheeks hurt from how big my smile was. "Of course, Endeavor-san! I'll do everything I can to help him in any way possible. I promise to take good care of him!" I beamed. A deep hum of the agreement was heard on the other end. "Good. I expect nothing less from you."

"...And thank you, for healing All Might. I don't plan on taking number one by default, so I owe you one," he said matter-of-factly. "Oh, about that. If you would like any help with that, I could send you the analysis I have for you. It includes your quirk, drawback, fighting style, and all the ways you can improve, along with all the things you are doing wrong that can give you an angle to look at. Does that sound alright?" I offered. "... I owe you two. I will text you my address," I laughed and said 'sure'. We discussed the method of transportation and I agreed to pick him up. And with that, the call ended and everything was settled.

I am ecstatic for tonight. Which means it's time to pull out the party decorations!

. . .

(Shoto POV)

I texted Father that I was going to Izuku's to study, and he just said:

I know about the meeting. Prepare to stay the night, he'll be arriving at the house in an hour to pick you up. Don't make him wait.

So I was left wondering what that meant. Did Izuku tell him or did he find out on his own? Both options are viable and very likely. Father likes to put his nose in every single corner of everyone's business. However, Izuku likes to be prepared for anything and everything, so it's probable that he already informed him. But the real question is, if it was Izuku's doing, what did he bribe my father to willingly allow a sleepover that has nothing to do with studying? And now that he knows I tried to lie about it, what am I supposed to tell him the next time Izuku invites me over? But with what Izuku pulled, would he even fight it? What is Father planning?

I shoved my thoughts aside for the time being and hurried to my room to pack my things. I have permission, that's all that matters right now. Pajamas, tomorrow's clothes, toiletries, and study supplies; just in case. Can't be too careful when it comes to Izuku. Actually, I should pack an extra set of pencils and pens, and perhaps undergarments. A meeting so important that he called my father's personal hotline must be extremely stressful, best to be prepared for the worst.

With my bag packed and a note written to Fuyumi, I ran out the front door and saw Izuku there waiting for me. Kami, please tell me I'm not late. "Oh, you're here! Perfect. Ready to go?" he asked. I nodded, "I hope I didn't make you wait long." He smiled and shook his head, allowing me to relax. "Nah, I actually just got there when you came out. Your dad wasn't kidding about you never being late, haha!" he said lightly, assuring me that I was fine. "Right. Are we taking the train again? We might be late for the meeting if we do," I asked. He grabbed my hand and dragged me around the corner. "Nope! We're taking a shortcut. Hope you aren't afraid of heights, Todoroki-san," he smiled sweetly. "Asriel is here too, isn't he?" He giggled - the bastard. "Nope, he's at home helping Mom prepare. I'm showing you how fast I can go. And how fast you can go if you are willing to give it a try~" he purred.

Oh no. Oh no, this is so much worse.

And just as I anticipated, he pulls me onto his back and shot off like a rocket. I held onto him as if my life depended on it; and with how high up we are at right now, it probably does! I couldn't even hear my own screams through the wind with it blasting my ears and deafening me, but my face was definitely hurting from the sharp blades of air pushing it back. "Shoto, close your mouth and lean forward! The key to breaking the wind barrier is using your head to pierce through it!" he shouted. I did as he said and forced my position downwards, feeling the wind start to move around me rather than push me. It felt like moving through water now, feeling the air roll off me as if I was swimming in a river. It wasn't a raging force now, merely a tunnel I had to push myself through. I could now open my eyes and mouth without it hurting which allowed me to see how high we were. We were jumping from building to building, getting higher and higher. It was only now that I could finally see how he moved around so fast. The magic blue shoes of superspeed mixed with the red flames bellowing from his hand had us going at what I presume was Mach 1 speed, which was faster than a military fighter jet.

And he says I can do this? Sorry, Izuku, but I am having a hard time believing you!

. . .

(Izuku POV)

I arrived at the house with a frazzled Shoto and saw everyone I knew there. They all looked curious as to why there were party decorations, as no one was informed of any special event. And they wouldn't be, because that would ruin my surprise! It didn't take long for everyone to find a spot to sit down or a corner to stand in. I'll schedule an announcement to the town for tomorrow, but for now: "Greeting everyone, thank you all for coming. I'm sure you're all wondering what this is about. But let me assure you, it isn't anything bad." A collective sigh of relief swept through them all. "In fact, I have great news for you all!" they all perked up.

"Alright, so the first piece of news had to do with the result of my battle. The HPSC has decided to give me a hero agency of my own, which I have named Delta Rune HQ. With the agency comes the rest of the good news. First up, I have officially been made the president of monsters. I create and regulate all laws for monsterkind, all of which go through the agency to be finalized. This means that I won't have to go through the board to keep them from implicating any stupid laws to chain you all down," I told them all. And with every word that came out of my mouth, they all grew brighter and brighter. "That's amazing, Izuku!" Asriel smiled. I nodded my head, "Indeed. I'll be instating the basic human laws of human cruelties, self-defense, defense of others, and other traffic violations. After that, I'll work on balancing out the use of magic to ease worries about fairness with humans.

Of course, this means I also have to make sure that monsters can use magic when needed and at home so we don't end up with too many restrictions. I'll also have to work out the justice system, but we'll get to it when we get to it. Monster legal affairs are to be dealt with by monster laws and only monster laws unless they interfere with quirk laws, which leaves us a lot of room to work with. But, as far as the public is concerned, everyone is pretty on board with the news. There are a few naysayers here and there, but not enough to be a concern. So in conclusion, just keep being yourselves, and everything will be fine," I explained. They nod.

"The next piece of news is that I have an official hero license. So, I might get pulled into missions and won't be at school as often as before, but the HPSC still wants me to finish my training and the board wants me to finish my education. Can't have a government official with no degree, right?" I smirked, and they smiled. "And lastly, this is for my fellow students, I have opened the doors of my agency to all hero classes from every hero school. I want to have as many options as possible when I kickstart my career. And Asriel, I want to make you the co-owner of the agency if you want to join. You have the option to start another agency and partner with me, but I thought this was a better option." I finished. Class 1-B and friends were smiling and chattering amongst themselves with smiles, monsters were hugging each other and crying, and I stood at the front watching them all react to the news.

Sans stood beside me and patted me on the back. "Hey, Izuku. You doing all right?" he asked. And honestly, I don't know the answer to that. On one hand, I finally accomplished my dream, but on the other... the price to pay for peace is heavier than I thought. I wonder if things could have gone differently if nobody had to die if nobody had to fight... but what good hero doesn't face hardships? All good tales have happy endings, but what point is there in reading them when the story has no morals or life lessons? How could you possibly call it a happy ending when the story was always happy, to begin with? That's not a story, that's a dream. Reality is always hard, that's just how life works. Sure, I never expected to become a killer in the process, but aren't there others like that? Doesn't everyone have to sacrifice something to be happy? Abandon to be free? Destroy to be safe? Kill to get strong? Isn't it worth it in the end?

"... Yeah. Yeah, I'm okay." Because I am. We all are. Everything is okay, everyone is safe, and we're all free and happy. And for once... so am I. So yes, I'm doing all right. The world is saved, my home is secured, and the only thing left to think about now is the future. What will it hold?

I guess I'll find out tomorrow, huh?

-----------------------------------------------------

(And finally, Izuku's painstakingly difficult quest for peace is over. But fret not, my dear readers, for the story is not over just yet. After all... I still have ships to write and loose strings to tie! Yes, there is still a bit more content to give and I am excited to share it all!

((Also, don't forget the ask blog on my profile. It will still be there when the story ends, and might even inspire a sequel. Who knows?))

Thank you all for reading, and I'll see you soon!)
