End of Internships and Dangerous People

(Ok so in the second chapter of the story, I posted a vote about ships, and I just remembered some other ships and I wanted to add another favorite of mine to the list. So if you support ShinDeku go back and vote on that, if not, then you can ignore this.

I also wanna know what other ships you guys are interested in so leave a comment on this sentence to let me know so I can make a chapter dedicated to ships.

I'll go back and delete the comments and vote list so we can revote on a single chapter instead of the author's notes cuz not everybody reads those.

Alright, back to the story!)

(Nobody POV)

It had been two days and Izuku was finally back at the agency. Everyone welcomed him back and the receptionist gave him the fruit basket and coffee they had prepared for him. He appreciated the coffee more than anything because, despite all the rest and recovery he got, he was still exhausted and hungry. He started snacking on a few chocolate-dipped strawberries on his way to the elevator and moved on to some cantaloupe as soon as he got in. By the time he reached the top floor, all the fruit was gone and a few of the workers had giggled at him for eating it so quickly. The elevator opened and he started drinking his coffee, still carrying the empty basket.

Upon entering the office, he was met with a giggling Asriel that was quickly followed by laughter from Hawks. "Did you like the fruit basket, Angel?" Hawks teased, but Izuku was still groggy and merely hummed in response. He set the basket down on one of the tables and threw his empty coffee cup in the recycling bin. Most of the supplies in Hawks' agency were recyclable or biodegradable, so Izuku kept the basket in case of other gifts that might come his way. "You got a little something on your face there, kiddo." Izuku wiped a thumb across his cheek and sure enough, there was chocolate surrounding his mouth. He grabbed a nearby napkin and wiped off the remains of his breakfast.

"Well, at least we don't have to worry about you skipping breakfast, Izu," Asriel joked. Izuku stretched, ignoring the joke, and reached for his share of the paperwork only for it to be snatched away by Asriel. "Nope! It's my turn to do paperwork. You're going on patrol today, remember?" Asriel reminded him. Izuku, who was finally starting to wake up, perked up at Asriel's words. Izuku had nearly forgotten about the text Hawks sent him yesterday. Izuku was asleep when Hawks sent the message, so he just agreed without thinking and went back to sleep.

"Ah... right... patrol," Izuku muttered. He knew that debuting as Angel was going to get him a lot of attention, especially since he was the one who took down Stain, but he could only hope that he wouldn't be crowded by fans on his first patrol. "Well, good luck with your paperwork, Azzy. Make sure to call me if you need any help," Izuku told him. "Hey! I may not be good at law stuff, but organizing your documents is my specialty!" Asriel huffed. "Okay, okay, I'll leave you alone," Izuku said, waving off Asriel's pouting face. "Get out of here, you two!" Asriel whined, shooing them both out of the office. "Haha, okay okay, we're going! No need to push!" Izuku laughed. Hawks laughed along and strutted out of the office.

. . .

"Alright Angel, you ready to head out?" Hawks asked. Izuku nodded, now fully equipped in his hero costume. He had some toy weapons on his outfit that resembled his magic ones so it looked like he had them equipped at all times, that way he didn't have to waste any of his magic. A small cyan toy knife was strapped to his arm, a yellow air gun was in a holster, and he was wearing some orange gloves with a black heart on them. None of them did any realm damage to anyone and the worst the airsoft gun could do was stun an enemy. The gloves had some grip pads on them that helped with climbing and grappling. And the knife had a small taser attached to the tip so he could shock anyone he "stabs". They still functioned as weapons but didn't do any actual damage unless he wanted them to. So if the weapons were ever stolen, they would only do about as much damage as a child's toy should anyone but him try to use them.

His lime green jacket had been remade so the fibers withstood any temperature and could even take a few hits before getting damaged. His blue shoes were given small, barely noticeable spikes on the bottom that would make wall climbing easier. He had a tiny purple notepad in his pocket for taking notes about villains they capture to collect any information, regardless of whether it was their quirk or the names of anyone causing trouble in the underworld. And they even shined and polished his locket, which was nice of them. They gave it a clear coat that had the same material as his jacket, so it was also impenetrable to most anything. Izuku was more than satisfied with what Hawks had done to his hero costume and made a promise to himself to return the favor soon.

"Hey, you mind if we drop by a convenience store while we're out? I wanna buy some bandages," Izuku asked. Izuku decided to buy a medical kit and put it in the "inventory" Alphys put in his old jacket. It was some sort of magical pocket that could carry anything regardless of weight or size. His pockets were basically an interdimensional storage space and it was the most convenient thing ever. Hawks didn't know about it, and he didn't really need to, but Izuku would just tell him they were deep pockets should Hawks try to question him. "Sure thing, it shouldn't take too long. Maybe I'll get myself a snack while we're there," Hawks replied. Izuku nodded, walking alongside Hawks as they finally reached town.

. . .

In hindsight, Izuku really should've expected this to happen. He and Hawks were patrolling the area and were just a few yards away from the convenience store when robbers came bursting out. Hawks went after the villains while Izuku went into the store to see if anyone inside was hurt. Luckily, the only damage done was a child who'd been thrown against the wall. Izuku laid his jacket on the boy, healing all his wounds instantly. When he was putting his jacket back on, the boy stood up and hugged Izuku. Izuku gave him a comforting pat on the head and stood to check on the other patrons and customers, but was stopped by the small child. "Um... I heard about you on the tv, you are Angel, right?" he asked. Izuku nodded, "Yes that's right? You needn't be scared, the villains can't hurt you as long as I'm here," Izuku assured. He felt weird talking in a way unlike him, but he knew how comforting it was when Toriel talked to him like this and thought it would work. The boy smiled and shook his head. "Um... I have a question," he said. "What is it, little one?" Th boy steeled himself and looked up to Izuku with hopeful eyes.

"Can I be a hero without a quirk?" he asked.

Izuku looked a bit shocked for a moment, but smiled fondly. "Of course you can! Just look at me, I'm quirkless and I'm a hero. Just remember, with enough determination, you can do anything you set your mind to." he told him. Izuku gave the boy a gentle hug as he cried into his jacket. "I believe in you, little hero," Izuku quietly told him. "I live in Newer Home if you ever want help with training." The child nodded and ran off to his mother, who stood at the end of the aisle, shocked by Izuku's words. With that final interaction, Izuku went outside to see if anyone else was hurt.

Some broken glass lay scattered on the ground from the broken door, but it didn't appear to have hurt anyone. Izuku sighed in relief before spotting one of the villains trying to get away. He shot an air bullet at the villain and quickly followed the attack with a knife throw, shocking the villain. The villain lay on the ground in pain as Izuku walked closer, already pulling out his purple book. As Izuku was walking closer, he noticed the villain's hair looked like it was reflecting the sunlight and upon further inspection, it was doing exactly that. Their hair was made of glass and was moving in it's own. 'So not only could they have a mineral quirk, but they can manipulate their hair as well? What a powerful quirk. Why rob a store when you could just get a haircut and sell the hair? Seems rather odd.' Izuku thought to himself. This situation just didn't sit right with him for some reason. He tied up the villain with PERSEVERANCE and jotted down the information in his little notepad.

Hawks had just finished his fight and was flying towards Izuku with a barely conscious villain in each hand. "Hey, looks like one tried to get away, huh? Thanks for taking care of it, Angel!" Hawks cheered. "No problem, Hawks. I took care of the civilians as well. A kid got thrown into a wall, but I healed him so he's fine. None of the broken glass hit anyone and nobody was hurt, so all that's left now is a mess to clean up," Izuku told him. "Thanks for the damage report. Glad to know everyone's okay," Hawks replied, getting a nod in response.

After cuffing the villains, Izuku healed them and let the police take them away. "Hey Hawks, I wanna talk to that villain with the glass hair for a bit. Something's up and I wanna know what it is. I'll come back with whatever information I have," he informed. Hawks nodded, suddenly taking a serious expression. "Don't leave anything out. If you think something's wrong, make sure you tell me everything so I can help." Izuku nodded and asked the police for an interview at the station. They tried asking why, but Izuku just told them that Hawks wanted info out of the villains so they allowed it.

. . .

It was the last day of internships and Hawks had comprised all the information Izuku got out of the villain. Izuku was surprisingly good at his job. The villain was very tight-lipped but made a few mistakes here and there, which Izuku picked up on. Izuku had sweet talked his way through most of the negotion, gave a few tips for future employment, and even offered some financial help when they get out, should they decide to give up villainy. The amount of times he beat around the bush and used under-handed tactics was ridiculous and Hawks couldn't help but be impressed. Not only had Izuku gotten their quirk, but he had gotten the name of an organization, the leader, and the names of the top ranking members. The villain had let a single name slip and Izuku figured out the rest from there. It was terrifying, to say the least.

The villain's name was Shimui Nagasaki and her quirk was "Mineral Hair". She can turn her hair into any existing mineral, even the undiscovered ones. Depending on the mineral she uses, she can even manipulate her hair to move around and even be used as an extra limb. She often takes Glass when in the daylight as it reflects the sunlight, effectively blinding her enemies. She takes gold when weaponizing herself, because it's flimsy and doesn't rust like iron does. The name of the organization was the name of a drug cartel, Trigger Warning. Nagasaki was a new member and was tasked with robbing a store as her first mission.

Lower ranking members like Nagaski were tasked with petty crimes to see how good they were in field. If they could escape the heroes, they were tasked with baiting missions. If they completed the mission undetected, they were tasked with stealth missions. If they fought off the heroes, they were tasked with bodyguards missions. And they killed someone, civilian or hero, they were tasked with low rank, easy kill assassinations. Half the time, the missions were suicide missions or traps. The few times it was a real mission, it was a test of loyalty and devotion. Those who passed the test were raised a rank, and those who didn't got killed.

Izuku had categorized the rankings and the villains within them based on criminal records and threat levels. How Izuku got that information is beyond him-- because 99% of this report was stuff he wasn't allowed to get into-- but that didn't matter right now because the name of the leader was the name of someone he knew was cooperating with a very dangerous man. Trigger was a quirk-enhancing drug and was illegal on everywhere. It was really pricey on the black market and impossible to get for a typical street thug. The only time it was seen in low-scale villains was when it was injected into them to test the potency and effects of the drug.

Thankfully, the report was only a list of names, quirks, and ranks, which meant that Izuku didn't know the full story. Trigger Warning was led by a man named Isegai Kirumo, and they had recently partnered up with the Leauge of Villains and were using the drug for current unknown purposes. He was going to need an full investigation, and he was not about to put Izuku any further in this than he already is.

It was high-time he payed a visit to a certain rat.

--------------------------------------------------------

(Okay this one is a filler chapter, much like the episode of BNHA that I just watched, but I hope you like it. I was tempted to involve a certain bird villain, but it's too early for that, so I decided to come up with completely random characters for the first time ever.

That's right! Shimui Nagasaki and Isegui Kirumo, along with Trigger Warning are completely original characters that I came up with on the spot! Aren't I amazing? I know I am. My mental name generator is comprised of so many animes it's ridiculous. I'm sure some of you recognize the name Isegai from somewhere, but I have no memory of where I heard it so, HA!

The trigger drug is not original, and is appearing just a tad bit too early, but it leaves a hint for future chapters. So go ahead and look forward to that.

And as always, thanks for reading!)
