Chara woke up beside Asriel "Mmm... morning Azzy" she nudged the sleeping goat boy. "Asriel, wake up" she pulled his ear. "Okay Chara, I'm up!" he joked "Excited for your first day of school?" he asked her. She nodded excitedly.

Asriel chuckled "Alright, well there are a few things you should know." Chara smiled and nodded excitedly yet attentively. "The monsters there might treat you differently considering you're a human."

"Why would they do that?" Chara tilted her head in confusion. Asriel sighed "Prejudice against humans mostly. Not everyone is like us." he chuckled nervously. Chara smiled brightly "It's okay Azzy! I'm sure I'll make friends with everyone!" she answered with a large grin

Asriel nodded "Yeah I know, it's just... be careful, okay?" She nodded "I promise Asriel, I won't get into trouble on the first day." she skipped out of the room. He smiled "Okay than- Wait on the first day?!?!" he ran after her "What!"

Chara giggled "Nothin' " she joked. Asriel raised an eyebrow "Chara..." he said sternly in a brotherly way. She chuckled "I'll wait until the second day until I raise hell" Asriel gasped "You swore!"

Chara covered her mouth "No I didn't" Asriel nodded "Swear jar" Chara huffed, and put human money in the swear jar, since she didn't have any gold to put in it. Asriel smiled "Good enough"

Toriel burst into the room, carrying an old backpack of Asriel's "Here you are Chara! Sorry I couldn't get you something better" She looked down. Chara hugged her "It's okay! I didn't even have a backpack on the surface so this is already a major improvement"

Toriel chuckled lightly and returned the hug "Alright dear, if you say so" Asriel joined in on the hug "Group hug!" he exclaimed playfully. Toriel smiled "Alright, have a good day you two!" she let go of the two children as they walked towards the door. 

Asriel and Chara waved bye and headed to the school. A few minutes later they were standing in front of an intimidating rusty iron gate which towered over the children. "Wow... well this is ominous" Observed Chara warily. Asriel nudged her "Hey don't worry Chara! You'll like it here!" They entered the large, dull building.

Asriel couldn't have made a worse prediction. Her money for lunch got stolen, she kept getting hit on, and everyone else that wasn't trying to either beat her up or trying to get with her avoided her like the plague. It re invited an old feeling of being unwanted. Making her feel just as depressed as when she fell down here. Asriel wasn't lying when he said the other monsters weren't like them.

Asriel noticed how quiet the normally bubbly Chara was "Hey Chara, what's wrong" she stayed quiet. Asriel raised an eyebrow and sighed "Rough first day?" She nodded with a certain depression in her action. "Yeah, it sucked" she murmured quietly

Asriel smiled "Don't worry Chara! It gets better". Chara sighed "No it doesn't... it didn't above ground, and I doubt it's going to here" She answered sounding pretty depressed. Asriel hummed then got an idea "How about we go get some Nice Cream?" he suggested

Chara beamed at him "I would sure like that Azzy" she seemed a bit happy about nice cream. It always seemed to help when she was sad before, so she hoped it would help here. They walked to snowdin to get some from the vendor there.

Chara smiled as she was handed a chocolate Nice cream cone. She enjoyed the cool sensation it left on her mouth and lips. She smiled at Asriel "Thanks bro" she then continued to enjoy her nice cream. It worked and began lifting her spirits. She was determined to try school again.
