Serenity
I walked through the deepest valley,
Past the tempest shore,
To reach the loveliest garden
I've ever known before.
After all that I had gone through
I imagined peace no more,
My skin open and bleeding
From nettles that rip and tore.
But now, I have arrived
My troubles I can ignore,
Finally, the rest I seek
Sweeps my inner core.
I always thought this garden
Was only tales of lore,
But the scene all around me
No one can deplore.
Lavish bouquets of lavender
Blossom forevermore,
Swaying olive boughs
Frame the decor.
Now surrounded by
The sweetest scent galore,
The pain ebbs away
My strength I can restore.
