Glasses
Vision slowly uprooted,
Colors gradually diluted,
So that I am well suited,
To a world that is muted.
It passes undetected,
None seems affected,
So it can't be corrected,
A problem neglected.
Then its discovered,
Life is restructured,
I get all flustered,
My eyes now covered.
I had a fear
That People would jeer,
Or I'd appear
Extremely severe.
To my despair
I get my first pair,
I turn to stare
At what I wear.
I widen my eyes,
Filled with surprise,
"Glasses aren't my demise,
They make me seem - wise."
I wasn't boring or flat,
But not only that,
The world I look at,
Was no longer matte.
Eyesight it mends
So lines don't blend,
The clarity transcends
What I used to contend.
Wonder filled my eye
When I looked to the sky,
Its in full supply
Of pigments spry.
Finally I can see
Colors esprit,
This, I would agree
Is how its meant to be.
