Mando's POV? Is it really Third Person though? can I have some help I don't know what to call it??
Mando woke with a jolt.
The sun was bright above him, and his cape was rolled up under his neck, bracing his head and creating a makeshift pillow. Looking around, he saw Meklar sitting up against a rock, next to him, with the fifty-year-old green bean in his lap.
The creature was pulling on the loose threads of a hole in Meklar's shirt, close to his hip bone. Underneath the ripped fabric there was clean alabaster skin, that glowed with beauty.
Well then. I guess that's cool.
(His skin wasn't actually glowing. Mando just definitely thoughts that it was.)
The Mandalorian sat up, tensing at the comforting gaze that was sent his way.
"How did you sleep?"
"..."
Mando cleared his throat. "Uh, fine. Did you-?"
"No. Angels don't need to sleep."
"Of course they don't." Mando rolled his eyes playfully. "Did you have any trouble with the creature?"
Meklar tilted his head thoughtfully. "Well, yes. Sort of. I took care of it."
Mando's eyebrows furrowed together and he looked at the angel with a face of doubt. "What exactly did you take care of?"
The angel pointed behind the rock he was sitting against. Mando stood to look behind it and when he saw the eight limp bounty hunters on the ground his jaw dropped. "Uh, what happened."
"They tried to steal the child, so I took their lives from them."
"So you killed them?"
"I don't like that word."
"Killed?"
Meklar sucked air through his teeth and shook his head. "Yup, that's the one. Not a big fan."
"Okaaaaaay. So you're telling me that by yourself, as I was sleeping, eight different bounty hunters attacked you, for the child, and you singlehandedly took their lives."
Meklar stuck his lip out a bit, and nodded his head. "Pretty much, yes."
Mando's eyebrows creased again, and he nodded. "Huh."
...
Mando landed on the ground.
Hard.
Meklar ran up behind him, having been watching the entire scene play out. He had stood by the child and watched as Mando climbed up the side of the fortress, having items thrown at him, and then being zapped with an electric charge.
The angel got to his knees beside the bounty hunter, and hovered his hands over the electricity running through Mando's armor. You should have been there. You shouldn't have watched. You should have helped him.
Meklar scolded himself internally. He pushed his curly hair out of his face, and tucked it behind his ear. Meklar tried to find a spot where Mando's skin was showing, but he couldn't find a spot that wasn't sparkling with the blue crackles of miniature lightning. He needed to touch his skin in order to heal him, but there wasn't a place that was revealed to him. Instead, he closed his eyes and focused on his sliver of grace that had weaved itself a protected netting around the Mandalorian's soul. He made it travel to the places that needed immediate healing, and it obeyed his command.
What worried Meklar, was how angry the warrior would be once he woke up. His ship was stripped, and the tiny jawas were a far-off speck in the distance, leaving only a trail of muddy tracks behind. Oh, how angry Mando would be.
What didn't worry Meklar was the condition Mando was in currently. He could tell that his grace was weaving the sprained ribs back together, and it was pushing his lung back into place. Mando's ankle was rapidly changing from dark blue to scarred tan underneath his armored boot, and Meklar could see the changes in his mind.
Meklar's grace was a strong one. Stronger than most of the other angels. Almost as strong as the arch-angels.
It was inside of Mando now. It was mending him with a speed that was unrealistic, and it was weaving his soul together, somehow.
Now, Mando's soul was different then any other that Meklar had every seen. He had been to the Middle-Realm plenty of times, but none of the other mortal souls he had seen had been like this warrior's.
It was a deep red color. Or at least that's what he could translate it to. When an angel looked at a soul, it was on a deeper level of vision, of understanding.
The red slowly bled into a violet, creating a collage of patches and shades and strings and emotions. But at the center, the center was the brightest.
It wasn't a color, but it wasn't white either. It might've been black, and Meklar wouldn't have been able to tell, it was so bright.
It shown brighter than any of the suns, and brighter than Meklar's grace, and brighter than T'Challa's being.
This man, this scarred, determined, broken, man, this warrior, was the most beautiful thing that the angel had ever laid his eyes on.
But what did really worry Meklar, more than this Mandalorian's future anger, or the broken bones in his armored body, or how bright his soul burned, was this feeling he was getting.
It was tingling, sometimes a burn, sometimes a mild sting, but Meklar was sure of it.
Meklar had found his mate.
Sorry that this was so short! I wanted to put something towards Meklar's POV because I need my baby to be in the spotlight once in a while.
How are all of you doing with Covid? I know that some people are allowed to go back to school and some people are not, but are you guys? Depending on your circumstances, has it been hard?
I've been doing "in-person" learning, and it's fun but it's also really annoying sometimes. ;)
