Executioner
A tall slender woman walks into the room, her heels clicking against the stone floor. She makes a move to shut the door and the large guard outside looks nervous. "Um Miss, I'm um... supposed to be in here- you know in case the-uh- the demon tries something." He stammers.
"I doubt that will happen, look how weak she looks. Besides, I do believe I can take care of myself."
"Oh um, yes of co-" The woman cuts of his stammering by closing the heavy door in his face.
She turns back to the table where I have been sitting stiff as a board. She walks over to the table, the click of her heels deafening in the silent room. The steel chair pulls against the floor and the woman brushes long white hair behind her as she sits.
She looks up, her cold purple eyes studying me carefully. "Hello again Amare." My heart stops for a moment as she looks at me with a calm smile. I stare blankly and try to remember where we've met when she interrupts my train of thought, "Don't tell me you don't recognize me. Here, perhaps this will jog your memory." With a wave of her hand lavender horns -like a more circular version of pronghorn antlers- appeared on top of her head and large pure white wings sprung from her back. "Struo?"
"Oh so you do recognize me! I was about to be very hurt Amare. I am the head angel of the Vatican, and your guardian angel at the moment." She places a hand on her chin, propping her head up as she stares at me inquisitively, "you've gotten yourself into quite the pickle haven't you? Not to worry, as we speak Noct is explaining your connection to heaven to the Vatican. This doesn't get you off the hook though, you will have to go explain yourself in person you know. Humans are stubborn creatures stuck in their ways, I'd say you'd be lucky to get out of here with a similar sentence as your good friend Rin. This existence of angels is kind of a hushed thing within the Vatican, and I assume they'd rather charge you as a half demon than acknowledge the presence of a half angel. No matter what they say, just know you have friends in high places, okay?"
I'm near tears at this point, but I stutter out a "thank you." Suolo stands and wraps a pure white wing and one arm around my shoulder. She stands there for several minutes just hushing my quiet sobs and whispering reassurances in my ear.
After awhile she stands straight again, and her wings and horns fade away. She wipes my eyes with the sleeve of her coat and smiles sweetly. "Now then, come along, we have a trial to get to."
Fuck this was short. Only 500 ish words. I'd like to blame me falling down the stairs and injuring a ligament forcing me in a boot, doing tech for Mary Poppins (still in said boot), and graduating high school. Sorry loves. Hope it was a surprising and enjoyable chapter nonetheless.
