I pushed the locker room door open without warning, silently praying that I wouldn't see anything I ain't supposed to right now.
But what I saw was worse than that, it was Cheryl, she was almost half naked, clad in just bra and jeans that were already hanging low, her face red swollen like she had been beaten up with Daniel trying to force himself on her, it was so bad that I could rarely catch a view of her petite frame.
But she was still struggling.
The other guys didn't seem to care, some doing their own personal business, some watching and finding it amusing while some, including Luke was holding Cheryl down.
Almost all eyes were on me the moment I barged in.
This is really weird.
"What are you doing here?" Luke spat at me but I chose to ignore him, there was a main idiot here.
"I thought you're man enough," I said loud enough for the broken fool to hear.
Like he knew he was the one I was talking to, he looked towards me and let go of her but two other guys still held her from moving.
"I'm man enough," he blandly replied.
"I don't think so, a real man doesn't beg for sex or force it. Are you sure you're what you claim to be?" I said.
His jaw clenched and his hands balled into a fist.
I flinched internally but I know I shouldn't back down. I was here now, there was no going back.
"So by that, you're referring to Lan right. I'm sure he showed you how much of a real man he could be. Oh really, it was nice seeing him perfom everything I tought him on you," he said.
Laughter bursted around the room.
Damn.
Regret was setting in.
Low self esteem.
Embarrassment.
Worthlessness.
A feeling I can't even describe.
He just had to.
But yeah...I started this. I wasn't just going to back down and cry my eyes out even if that was what I was urging to do.
"Are you sure, you were the one that tought him, because he was way smoother than this," I replied.
There was a look of surprise in his face.
I was surprised too but I knew I couldn't keep on being hunted and hurt by my past anymore.
I can't let people see it as my weak spot.
"See who's gotten fiercer," he said, sarcasm dripping in his voice.
"Ofcourse, and see who's getting more pathetic with each freaking day that passes by. Just accept that you've lost. Not everything has to go the way you want it and if you claim that you love her the way you do, you wouldn't be doing this to her!"
"So what do you think? You want to take her place...I won't mind," he said, coming closer to me with slow steady steps.
Every nerve in my body wanted to step back and just run away!
But I stayed still. Without even moving a muscle.
He got close to me, where I stood just in front of the door. He stretched forward till his face was a very few inches away from mine.
He took in my scent and a creepy smile drew on his face.
"That would have been a very good idea, plus you smell really appealing...but then, I don't take my bestfriend's left overs," he spat.
Fuck!
"Bastard!" I yelled at him and as if my hand has a mind of it's own, it moved quickly on impulse to hit him hard across the face.
But he held it right before it hit him.
"Ofcourse, I expected that," he said with a cocky grin on his face. But then, another hand hit him hard across the face.
A hand that wasn't mine.
"I guess, you didn't see that coming, did you?" I heard Roxie's voice from beside me.
I'd never felt this grateful for someone's presence.
I thought she wouldn't come. I thought she'd already left.
He released his grip on me and faced Roxie.
"I think you lost your way, Miss," he spat.
"Yeah...I think I did, I just needed to throw a few trashes. Would you mind taking me towards the gabbage bin, sorry? I guess I followed the stench and it led me to you," Roxie replied sarcastically.
"Get out!"
"Make me," Roxie replied.
"Get the fuck out of here! I have nothing to do with you, as you can see, I'm settling things here with my exes. I don't fuckin' care about whatever people say about you. Leave!" He threatened.
"Ofcourse, I have something to do with you. You mess with my friend, you mess with me too. Trust me, I hate being messed with and I won't leave here until I get what I want. Release the girl." She threatened back.
"Oh...I'm trembling in fear," He said sarcastically, feigning fear.
"Get the hell out of here before I do something you won't like," he said.
"You think?"
"Try me?" He replied back.
Her hands went for his neck harshly in less than a second as she used it just perfectly to get him to choke almost immediately but then, a few guys decided to intervene and separate Daniel from her as he tried to catch his breath.
"Don't tell me what to do! I'll leave if I want to, when I want to!" She yelled at no one in particular.
"Just let Cheryl go...don't do anything you will regret later," I said to him, trying to calm the intensified air around us.
"I will do what I please with her, she's mine whether she, or anyone of you like it or not. I'll make love to her! I'll make sure she gets to love me back with every strand of her hair and every blood in her body. And if I can't have her, then no one will," he continued, walking back to her, pushing away the guys holding her earlier.
He pinned her tightly against wall and his body, started squeezing her breast roughly, planting kisses all over her face as she tried to get out of his grip to no avail.
The other guys started coming towards the both of us, creating a kind of wall to separate us from them.
"Y'all are bullshits! Fucked up assholes. All men are just pieces of horny bastards. Good for nothing!" Roxie yelled with tears already almost spilling from her eyes as she tried to move past the wall of stupid boys who kept holding her back.
I wanted to walk out to seek help but I also couldn't leave Roxie alone with a group of soccer players.
We just couldn't do this alone!
Loud and fast footsteps could be heard from just outside the hallway.
I turned and through the opened door, I noticed that it was Maddie.
But she wasn't alone. Along with her were a group of girls and guys.
She left to seek for help!
"Leave her alone, beast!" Maddie yelled, with her overly loud voice that could break a glass.
Daniel looked and when he noticed the crowd of students that had come by, he had no choice than to let her go.
Immediately, he left her, she fell to the floor and with that, Roxie and I pushed away the wall of guys and ran towards her.
We knelt down so we could have a better glance of her, she was awake but I could tell she was exhausted..she was weak. Her body and eyes were pale and I could tell she was in pain both physically and emotionally.
I couldn't tell what was going on behind us. There was noise. I could tell they were beating up someone but I tried not to pay attention. My priority now was to make sure Cheryl was fine.
With that, we got her a bit more covered before Roxie and I helped her get up and we held unto her in both sides as she walked slowly.
The locker room was already empty but a loud noise of arguments could be heard from the hallway just in front of it.
When we got out of the room, a number of eyes glanced towards us. I also noticed some of the other players there but Daniel was nowhere to be found.
We walked her to the school clinic which was a building away and when we got there, we instantly got the attention of the nurses around.
They kept on asking what happened but we couldn't say a word, atleast Cheryl would be the one to explain that herself....if she wants to.
She had been physically and sexually assaulted but at least she wasn't raped.
When she had finally layed down on the bed and informed her parents that she was in the clinic, I believed my work was done here.
"Ste--"
With that, I swirled on my heels and left the place immediately before she could even complete a word.

Thanks to everyone that has made it to this point with me.
I can't believe we are at 50 chapters. Like seriously?!!
I never expected this. When I started this book on paper, I thought it would just contain about twenty chapters, then it increased to twenty five and when I'd finally thought the last chapter would be at thirty, I was wrong again.
This is one of the longest books I've written but I just hope I'm not boring any of you in any way?
Sorry for the long author's note. Lol.
If you are enjoying this book as a whole, please feel free to share it and invite your friends over. I'll really appreciate it.
And yes, I'm also aware that Roxie might have a few haters but well, she learnt life the hard way and she's still struggling with that fact. Nobody is perfect neither are the characters in this book, in fact, all of them has issues but, we'll see how it goes❤
Thanks again! And don't forget to vote and drop your feedbacks :)
