We walked slowly on the sand the sky was already getting a bit darker exhibiting different shades of pink.
Getting here without my car was a bit difficult but I had to find our way through a bus.
"I think know this place," Timothy said from beside me.
"It's Diamond beach....one of the smallest and least recognised beach in the state," I stated.
"I think I'm familiar with this place," he said, squinting his eyes like he was trying to recall something.
"I used to come here with my dad when I was younger," we both chorused at the same time.
"Jinx!" We chorused again.
We looked at each other on impulse and bursted into an uncontrollable laughter.
"It's really nice to see you laugh again...I know you don't laugh much but given what happened earlier today, I felt like you won't even try to smile for the rest of the day."
He sighed.
"I just wish things could go back to the way they were sometimes," he said.
"About your family?" I asked.
"I'm really sorry....you shouldn't have seen everything that happened, it was just supposed to be a simple visit but things just had to go wrong...and it just remindes me of how much I can't stand them no matter how much I try," he replied.
"It's not your fault," I tried to convince him.
"But it is...I was the one talking about control but I couldn't even control myself, it's not supposed to be that way, I've always tried to do that all my life and it feels like I keep failing at it."
It made my memory flash back to the scene that occured earlier, I'd never imagined Timothy as angry as that. It only made me wonder what exactly had happened between him and Zach and how his sister is involved in all of it.
I was also curious about how Zach was even related to them....
Infact, the curiosity about everything was getting the best of me.
"Maybe, we do have a little in common....when it comes to controlling our anger."
"I don't think so....I'm way better than you when it comes to that," he retorted.
"You think....you almost killed someone back there," I argued.
It felt like he wanted to say something but he closed his mouth shut and ran his fingers through his hair.
"You know, let's just not talk about that right now," he shrugged it off and I just realised what I said and what he was probably thinking of but trying so hard not to spill.
I mean, I fuckin' killed someone!
"Why was Zach in the hospital earlier today?" I blurted without even thinking it through, I felt mentally hungry for that information.
He looked away like he didn't want to say anything to me about it.
"Let's sit," he said, ignoring my question. He sat down on one of the plain rocks near the seashore and I did the same beside him before removing our shoes and placing our bare leg on the sand.
We did it almost at the same time like it was a normal known tradition.
It felt so soothing as my feet seeped slowly into the cold sand.
I could hear the sound of the moving waters as the cold evening air brushed against my skin, the sky was getting darker and the place was getting emptier.
I was already getting so comfortable with the surroundings and quietness, just sitting down here and staring into space gives me peace of mind.
"How do you know Zach?" He suddenly asked, looking at me a bit suspiciously.
"Hey...don't look at me like that, I have nothing to do with him, he just happens to be my sister's ex."
"Okay then," he replied before looking away.
Why was he even bothered?
"So, How did you get to know Zach?" I decided asked him too since he probably wouldn't talk if I don't ask.
"Okay.....well, he's my dad's child, my dad had him a couple of years ago....before he met my mom."
"Your mom knew ever since right?"
"Not really....my dad didn't even know he had a child with his mom till a couple a months ago."
"Months? You mean, Zach's mom kept it a secret from him all these while...but then why didn't they inform your dad earlier....why now? Are you sure it's really the truth or she's just making up a stupid story?"
"It's true....It'd been confirmed...more than twice. Besides, my dad confessed that he really did have an affair with her when they were younger, before he had to leave to start up a life for himself." He started.
"And besides, I'm sure they're all just interested in my dad's wealth...that's all," he shrugged.
I don't still think that's enough reason for you to want to choke him to death," I said, wanting to know everything and how his sister was involved in all of these.
"Well...." He started but stopped abruptly, moving his palms to cover his face a bit before sliding them down.
"It's okay if you don't want to talk about it, it's totally fine...I won't take it the wrong way," I said but that wasn't the case, I really wanted him to speak up so I decided to use the reverse psychology on him.
"Well...my sister, that was the first time I'd ever seen him, he was having a type of secret affair with her....little did her little mind knew that he had his own ulterior motives. He almost had his way with her.....he lured her so that, he'll be able to use her...and sleep with her."
My breathe hitched.
It was so damn serious.
"But he didn't right?"
"He didn't, but it was a very close call...I wouldn't have been able to forgive myself if it had happened. It was a few weeks before we all found out that he was my half brother.
"Was that the reason you left home?" I asked.
"I left home even before that, more than a year ago, it wasn't the exact reason I left, but what happened and how everyone reacted to it just gave me more reasons to cut them off."
I had this internal joy that he was opening up to me, he'd always had this much issues but always left it bottled up within him while being ever listening to mine like he wasn't facing anything at all, it is also very clear that he really loves his sister so much.
"They just acted like it was so normal, and it could just be forgotten like it never happened because it happens that Zach is dad's son....They didn't even care about how Olive felt and how she feels even till now even if she was barely sixteen then."
I felt disgusted, Zach is truly an irritating person and it keeps me wondering what kind of joy he gains destroying girls almost two times younger than him.
"You left because of your mom?"
"My parents...they're always into comparing Tristan and I ever since we were younger. We appear to look exactly alike physically but that doesn't make us the same person, we're still totally different but they don't seem to see it that way."
He stopped, took another soothing breath and continued.
"It just hurts, the way they see things...they feel like he's just the perfect one....he has the confidence, the skill, the looks, brain...just everything they want in a son and they just end up seeing faults in every fuckin' thing I do," he continued before picking up a pebble from the sand beneath us and throwing it into the ocean.
"Even if I have never actually experienced it before, I can tell how it feels like being compared every single minute of your life...I know it hurts alot. And I ain't blaming you for anything that happened..." I said, placing my hand softly on his shoulder, causing him to look at me.
"I mean....they sent him out of the country, all the way to Canada to study, why? Because they feel it's worth it for the fact that he's studying a course in line with the activities of my dad's company. I don't know how I feel about it, maybe I'm just being jealous..."
"Your father's company?"
"Yeah...he owns the Silver Stones Insurance Enterprise," he stated.
Was I hearing right, I'm not much of a business type right now but that doesn't mean that I don't know about the Silver Stones.
Infact, even an infant must have heard of it, one of the most successful and wealthiest group of enterprises. It was kind of a surprise hearing that Timothy's dad was the owner.
I mean, if it were me, every fuckin' person would have probably found out a million times and I'll rock the latest cars, bags, shoes, everything that will shout out all the riches my dad owns.
I guess not everyone is the same...
"...Yeah, they feel like I'm not the business type...and actually, they're not wrong, I'm not....It's just all right."
"It is not alright! Don't ever feel insecure...you're skilled, smart and talented. You're just perfect the way you are! I mean, I couldn't ask for a better 'Timothy'.....The one that understands me more than I can ever understand myself," I spilled.
"But why do I feel otherwise...I feel like I'm lacking something others have that always makes them better...I always feel like I'm so imperfect and that everyone is looking out for the best....that no one even acknowledges my presence...that no one even likes me..."
"Don't say that....I like you a lot!" I blurted before putting words and words together, realizing what I had just said.
There was a moment of silence and it almost felt like time froze.
"Like...I meant..." I tried to clarify but I got interrupted.
"Never mind though...it's probably out of pity and I don't want to be pitied," he said, removing my hands from his shoulders and standing up to leave.
I stood up too immediately.
"What's wrong? I swear...it's not like that..."
He started walking out and I followed him, I wondered why his mood suddenly changed, he was laughing a few minutes earlier.
He started walking away.
I walked as fast as I could till I got in front of him, using my hands to touch him softly on the chest to make him stop.
"I didn't mean to annoy you in any way....I swear...I just felt like you're a very great person and you don't deserve any of this shit happening to you...Just please, don't walk away from me like that...I don't know what I can ever do right now without you, I still need your help no matter how much I try to hide it. I'm in a very big mess right now and I just feel so confused," I spilled out my mind and I felt him soften.
"Please...." I finally said, looking up at him, he was doing same and our gaze locked.
I don't know why but I found it so hard to look away from those ocean blue eyes that were getting darker and rhyming with the night sky above us.
I felt myself drawing closer, closer and closer to him, his fragrance flowing through my nostrils with my heart pounding hard against my chest.
I pulled higher till my lips merged with his, I didn't process what I was about to do in my head before action and I know this is one of the craziest things to do in this state.
He was Timothy for goodness sake!
But I couldn't help it.
I wasn't in control of myself but one thing I knew is that I wouldn't be able to survive it if he rejects me.
His lips parted and he claimed mine.
Timothy Stones was fuckin' kissing me back!
Now I felt flutters in my tummy and it was extreme ecstasy.
His hands went round my waist, pulling me closer and my hands snaked round his neck...
Then up to his hair....
It felt better than I imagined as I moved my fingers through those strands of soft, silk, smooth and glossy hair.
The kiss was hard and urgent, yet strangely gentle, deep and passionate.
I didn't want it to end but it did immediately he pulled out and pushed me slightly away from him.
"What's wrong with you?" He asked in a low but stern voice, running his fingers to and fro his hair...
His hair....
I was short of thoughts.
"What the fuck were you trying to do?" He asked again before putting his palm over his face and running his fingers through his hair like he usually does.
"I'm...I'm..." I stammered, without even knowing what exactly to even say.
"Look deeply okay....I might be blonde...but I'm in no way, Landor Jackson," he said before taking one last glance at me with those blue expressionless eyes and walking out.
I just stood there in my own misery, I was short of words and utterly ashamed. I didn't know if I should start crying my eyes out or just jump straight into the ocean and drown myself in my sorrow.
Everyone had already seen it and there was nothing anyone can do to erase it from their memories.
What the heck have I done?!
I lost control of my stupid self....again.
