All Hallows' Eve, or Hallows' Evening, it is said,
Liturgical season to remember the saints and the dead,
Liminal time, when the veil between the worlds are shred.

Hell's inhabitants supposed to be on Earth,
As the dead spirits among living walk the land;
Lanterns for souls seeking redemption and rebirth, 
Lanterns made from pumpkins, carved by hand;
Old traditions, give way to new ones of joy and mirth,
Witch, ghouls and ghost costumes planned,
Simply enjoy, of fun there is no dearth. 

Enjoy the costumes, the collection of candy,
Verily, it is now a time to make merry,
Enjoy Halloween, a festival to just be happy.
