This was so much fun.

Maybe I was crazy, or maybe I'd just resigned myself to my fate. Either way, I was having a blast here.

Officer Jeon wanted me to stick around for when he would talk to General Min about his new accommodations when he arrived later and so, without much of a choice, I stayed. I didn't stay for the whole day though. I went home to grab lunch (and maybe change into a prettier outfit, don't ask me why), wandered a bit around campus with a couple of friends before heading back to the station at five, remembering how Officer Jeon said he'd be at work all day.

And now I was seated in the station while he stood in the middle of the room arguing with Lieutenant Park as Detective Kim—or Taehyung, as he'd introduced himself as—sat on Officer Jeon's seat next to me and munched on a granola bar.

"Does this happen often?" I asked lowly and he swallowed before answering.

"Oh, you have no idea."

If he always watched on like this, it had to be entertaining. "Why, though? They seem like they're close."

"They are," he answered, throwing the finished wrapper into the dustbin. He missed, and I noticed he wasn't too worried about littering in the station. "We all are. Which means we argue a lot, too. And by a lot I mean a lot."

"Ah," I nodded, eyes still on the wrapper. "That makes sense."

"Please don't tell me you're going to nag me about that like Jungkook."

I dragged my gaze from the wrapper to him, who was now watching me with curious eyes. "Well, he is going to be pretty annoyed."

Then he grinned and I couldn't help but notice how much younger he looked when he did that. "That's exactly why I threw it there."

"Wait, you missed on purpose?"

He shrugged, leaning back lazily in his chair as he turned to the two arguing in front of us. "I guess you'll never know."

Well then.

On that thought, I reached for my cell phone and for the fourth time that day, tried Jinae's number. The girl was always on radio silence when she was studying and now that she had an exam in a couple of days, I didn't expect any different.

And so it definitely surprised me when she answered.

"Hello?"

"Wow, you actually picked up," I climbed to my feet and made my way towards the hallway to get away from the argument that was slowly climbing up in volume behind me.

She laughed in answer. "Yeah, I was taking a break just now. Four missed calls, though? Is everything okay?"

"That's debatable," I said as I opened the door and stepped outside the station. I took a small moment to breath in the warmth of the sun, savoring the feeling. Times like this were rare, especially now that winter was making it's way in with it's bitter winds and darker days. "I don't even know where to begin."

"Hey, don't be all mysterious," she whined. "Does it have anything to do with the hot General guy you had that coffee date with on Friday?"

Of course, I told my best friend all about that when I found her in class afterwards. She hadn't been able to really have a good look at him back in the aftermath of that party, especially in her state, but she was a sucker for romance and loved that I actually got up early to have coffee with someone. That in itself was enough for her to become General Min's biggest fangirl, so I had to wonder how she'd react.

Of all things, she laughed at my pain.

"So wait, that means now you're going to live with him? That sounds great."

Of course it sounded great to her.

But the again, now that I'd had some time to think on it, there was nothing really wrong with it.

I needed a housemate and he needed some convenience. It was a simple win-win plan. I had to cool it and stop fretting over nothing.

She ended with a quick tell me all about it when he moves in and hung up to get back to her studying, leaving me with the odd feeling of surrender.

I went back inside only to the two in full swing of their argument—something about you keep undermining me, Jungkook—and slowly started to feel the nervousness close in as the clock ticked by, reminding me General Min would be here soon and that if he agreed, he'd officially be my new housemate.

I swallowed at that, seating myself once more as Taehyung turned to look at me.

"Man, you missed a really good bit just now. Jungkook was teasing Jimin about his height."

It was a while later when Yoongi rolled around with Namjoon.

Taehyung had graduated from lazing on the chair to half lying on the table as he popped open a bag of crisps, like he was planning on staying a long time. In the span of this period, Officer Jeon and Lieutenant Park had argued approximately four times over something or another so trivial, it was insane. By the last argument, I'd closed my eyes as I leaned back in my seat, knowing it'd take a while.

I didn't know how long it had been as my eyes fluttered open when I heard Yoongi's voice. "These are the combined files we have on him, all tagged and compiled."

I looked up to see him standing in front of the desk and looking at Jungkook—who thankfully wasn't arguing anymore. Next to him, Namjoon was placing a large stack of files on the desk, eyeing Taehyung's discarded bag of crisps on it warily as he did so.

My hand absently went to fix my hair, eyes on my rumpled skirt.

Great. Way to make a good impression.

"Alright," Officer Jeon nodded. "We'll start. But General Min, you got a minute?"

Oh boy.
