2014

A few hours before the start of Raw, Seth had attended a creative meeting with Roman and Hunter. Immediately after the meeting, Seth found Jon in catering flirting with Renee.

"I need to talk to you." Seth told him.

Jon looked up frm his seat at Seth.

"Now." Seth said.

Jon let out a sigh before getting up and followed Seth away.

"Hunter just told me about tonight. Was this your idea, splitting up The Shield?" Seth asked as they made their way into a stairway.

Jon didn't say anything.

"You have barely spoken to me in months Jon and now you just come up with this out of thin air? I thought we agreed that our careers would always come first?" Seth asked.

"Yeah, we did.. And unfortunately working the man that broke my fucking heart is a little complicated for me so I'm sorry for not wanting to pretend to be your best friend every night, Seth." Jon said.

"You never even gave me a chance to explain things.."  Seth told him.

"You're a liar, Seth. What else is there to explain?" Jon asked as he headed for the door.

"I still love you." Seth told him.

Jon opened the door and hesitated for a moment before walking away. Seth leaned against the wall and broke out in tears.

A few weeks later, Jon was out on a double date with his girlfriend Renee and their friends, Brie and Bryan.

"Oh my goodness!" Brie shouted as she looked down at her phone. "Seth got engaged?" Brie asked.

Jon looked across the table at her almost in shock as his stomach dropped.

"What? To Leah?" Renee asked.

"Yeah, that is the cutest thing ever." Brie said.

Jon took a big sip of his beer.

"I have to use the restroom." Jon said as he rushed away.

Brie, Bryan and Renee continued their conversation as Jon snuck outside. He pulled out his phone and called Seth.

"Jon?" Seth asked as he answered the phone.

Jon hesitated to speak as a silence filled the air.

"You're marrying her?" Jon asked.

Now Seth was silent.

"I thought this is what you wanted?" Seth asked.

"I still love you." Jon said with a crack in his voice.

"What are you doing, Jon.. You're with Renee now, you're happy." Seth told him.

Jon looked down and took a deep breath.

"I don't know what I'm supposed to do here.. You've got me all messed up. Just don't marry her." Jon pleaded with him

"Have you been drinking?" Seth asked.

"I miss you." Jon said with caution:

Seth was silent as he tried to comprehend what was happening. That's when Renee walked outside.

"Jon? What are you doing out here?" Renee could be heard asked.

Jon covered the phone to talk to Renee.

"My mom called. I'll be back inside in a second." Jon lies to her.

"Okay, take your time." Renee said as she smile and made her way back inside.

When Jon returned to the phone call, Seth hand already hung up.

2015

It had been seven months since Seth's engagement to Leah. Jon and Seth had been feuding with each other in their storyline so it was a difficult situation for everyone. One night, Jon and Roman were staying at the same hotel as Seth. With Seth's wedding only a month away, Jon didn't know how to contain his emotions. It was late so there was almost no one at the hotel bar when Seth walked down.

"Over here man!" Roman called Seth over.

Jon took a big shot as Seth approached.

"I thought we could all have a drink. You know, like old times?" Roman said.

"Yeah, sure." Seth said as he sat down on the other side of Roman.

"Are you nervous about the wedding?" Roman asked.

Seth looked over at Jon, hating that he had to talk about this in front of him.

"Not really." Seth said.

"You're not nervous at all? Damn.. I was contemplating skipping town this close my wedding." Roman joked.

Jon took another shot before grabbing his jacket and storming off.

"What the hell, Ambrose?" Roman asked.

"I actually have to talk to him about something. I'll be right back." Seth told Roman.

"Wow.. So much for drinks you assholes." Roman said to himself before taking a shot of his own.

Seth had taken the elevator up to the sixth floor where he knew Jon was staging. Jon was just putting in his key card when the elevator doors opened.

"Jon!" Seth shouted.

Jon looked over as Seth ran out of the elevator.

"I don't have anything to say-." Jon began to tell him.

Seth walked starlight up to Jon and kissed him on the lips. Jon opened his hotel door and they made their way in as they began to make out.

"Wait. No!" Jon said as he pushed Seth off of him. "You can't just kiss me and think that everything is going to be fine."

"I started dating her in 2008, Jon. We had a big fight before I moved to Tampa for FCW so we took a break. That's when I met you. I didn't talk to her the entire time you and I were hooking up, okay?" Seth tried to explain.

Jon just stared at Seth, not sure if he should believe him.

"When you hurt me.. I turned to her. That's when we fixed things. I've been with her ever since but Jon it was a long distance relationship.. She and I have had a lot of breaking up and getting back together." Seth told him.

"Those nights back in FCW.. I thought we told each other everything. But apparently you were just pretending."
Jon said.

"Oh you think I'm the one that was pretending? Aren't you the one that said  it was just sex? Aren't you the one that said you're not gay?" Seth asked.

"You broke my heart, Seth!" Jon yelled in frustration.

Seth looked at Jon from across the room as they both fought back tears.

"Yeah well.. You broke mine first." Seth told him seriously.

The next day everyone was shocked by the release of Seth's nude photos and an apparent allegation on cheating. Hunter has told Seth to go back to Iowa and lay low until Raw on Monday. Seth went back to his hometown, Buffalo that day and spent most of the afternoon with his mother. He had actually just finished cooking dinner when someone knocked at the door.

"I'll get it." Seth's mother, Holly said.

She opened the door to find Jon standing outside.

"Jon? I had no idea yo were coming!" Holly said in excitement.

"How have you been?" Jon asked as he and Seth's mother shared a hug.

"I've been great. Especially now that you're here." Holly told him.

Seth stared at Jon in disbelief as he walked into the kitchen with Holly.

"Looks like I'm just in time for dinner." Jon said.

Seth couldn't help but be a little grateful that Jon has showed up. With everything going on, he really needed him.

That evening, Seth, Jon and Holly all had a nice dinner together. The guys shared a few road stories which Holly loved. And after the dishes were all out away, Seth and Jon went upstairs for bed. Holly had given Jon a sleeping bag to put on the floor in Seth's room.

"I'm so sorry we don't have a guest room for you." Holly apologized.

"Lucky for you I'm not too high maintenance." Jon joked.

Seth shirt his bedroom door after his mother made her way back downstairs.

"I can't believe you just showed up here like this." Seth said as he let out a slight smile.

"It's the least I could do. Those pictures going around don't do you any justice." Jon jokes.

Seth took a deep breath and sat down on his bed.

"I told her I didn't want to get married and that I was into guys.. That's when she framed me for cheating with Zarah." Seth told him.

"She framed you?" Jon asked in confusion.

"I'm not the one Zarah sent those pictures to." Seth said suddenly.

"You mean-?" Jon began to ask.

"Apparently Zarah's into girls and she's been trying to get with Leah since I introduced them down at the PC." Seth said.

Jon let out a big laugh.

"Wow! I definitely did not see that coming." Job said in amusement.

Seth let out a laugh of his own at how messed up the whole situation was.

"But what I'm really hearing through all of this is that you called off your wedding for me?" Jon asked.

"What! No! I didn't-." Seth tried to defend himself.

Jon looked into his eyes and smiled.

"You totally did." Jon said.

"Okay.. maybe I did." Seth gave in.

Jon leaned in and kissed Seth slowly. They were just so happy to be together and away from all the crowds of people. In that moment it really felt like it was just the two of them.

They had cuddled up together in Seth's bed. Jon running his fingers through Seth's hair as he rested his head on his chest.

"I'm going to look at houses tomorrow." Seth told him.

"Here in Buffalo?" Jon asked.

"A few houses here but most are in Davenport, I think one is in Moline. You wanna come with me?"  Seth asked.

"I'd love to." Jon agreed.

That next morning, Jon and Seth looked at house after house but none of them seemed too appealing. But the next house they arrived had seemed to peak Jon's interest.

"Wow, it looks so-." Seth began to say.

"Normal?" Jon asked with a smile.

They followed the realtor into the house and looked around.

"Four bedrooms, that's perfect." Seth told Jon.

Jon couldn't help but notice Seth looked around with dreamy eyes.

"Why do you need four bedrooms?" Jon asked curiously.

Seth looked back at him awkwardly.

"Seth?" Jon asked.

"This house perfect isn't it? You love it?" Seth asked.

"It doesn't matter if I love it. This is for you.. right?" Jon asked.

Seth accidentally let out a revealing smile.

"Are you trying to trick me into buying a house with you?" Jon asked.

"Idk.. is it working?" Seth asked.

Jon shook his head and laughed at Seth's childness.

"Why four bedrooms?"  Jon asked.

"One for us, one guest room and two for the k-." Seth began to say.

"Oh hell no. If you say kids I'm gonna super kick your ass right here." Jon told him.

Seth just smiled over at Jon with happy eyes, knowing that he was putting some ideas in his head.

"You know this is crazy, right? I'm with Renee now and you've still gotta deal with this Leah scandal. We're not even together anymore.." Jon tried to explain.

"We've been doing this for years now, Jon. I'm starting to realize that even when we're not together, we're together. We've got a way of finding our way back to each other, you know?"  Seth told him.

Jon just looked at Seth for a moment with a bit of skepticism before walking away.

That next week at Raw after Seth had dealt with the fallout of his scandal with Leah, he found Jon in catering and sat down beside him.

"My realtor called me a few hours ago." Seth told him.

"Yeah?" Jon asked.

"I got the house.. and apparently someone already paid for half?." Seth told him.

"Hmm.. Interesting." Jon said as he took a sip of his water.

"I know it was you." Seth said quietly.

Jon let out a smile to himself.

"Even when we're not together, right?" Jon asked.

Seth smiled back at him but was careful not to get too touchy since they were in public. Jon pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Seth.

"What's this?" Seth asked.

"A contract for this property in Moline. I thought it would be perfect for you to finally open up that school you've always been talking about." Jon told him.

Seth skimmed over the paper and saw the purchased price.

"You brought it already?" Seth asked.

"You'll love it, trust me." Jon told him.

Seth was trying his best to not lean over and kiss Jon. That's when Renee approached them.

"Hey, babe." Renee said as she greeted Jon with a kiss.
