Chp3
Chapter 3 - haircut
"Ahem," I coughed, twisting my fingers anxiously.
Sahil glanced at me looking bemused,"you're not backing away? Are you Serra? Because you know I might look like a tough boy but on the inside I am real softie, I will legit start crying if you say you won't cut my hair, now"
God, what's with this boy? He's always pushing my limits, making me do all kinds of ridiculous things that I couldn't ever imagine myself doing, because of him I always end up in these odd situations where all of my logical reasoning, go down the drain.
"It's too windy here and you are not coming to my room,"I declined his whatever intentions he had behind, taking this uncalled haircut activity to my room. Because at the end of the day he was my enemy and I can't trust him and I I-
I should stop being so repetitive.
No, no, no, I shook my head I will remind myself every second when I need to, that he's my enemy.
One should never trust their enemy.
I can't afford to divert from my path of revenge to get into any unexpected attachments and betrayal. I looked up to tell him, I have second thoughts about my volunteering to cut his hair, like it always happened in his case. I lifted my head but only came to face with nothing. What? Where he went now?
I frowned turning around, checked over. Was he hiding somewhere to scare me by jumping on me suddenly? that was too childish, even for him but he wasn't there, anywhere, wind blew on the baren rooftop untying my loosely held up hair by a clature. I pulled it out from my hair while still thinking did I imagine it all?
I shrugged, anyway
Good riddance, imagination or not. I thought with a little frown.
I moved, my foot hit on something, it was a mobile.
Unfortunately, I hadn't imagined all. I picked it up and swiped on a notification flashing on the screen.
It was a text message,
Your dream boy
Ah, Serra while you were having inner monologue, I found the quickest route to sneak into your room.
See you there ;)
More like my nightmare boy. I chewed my lip, worrying and tense. I wished, I imagined it all.
••
I swallowed hard staring at the door, the door of my room. Oh hello again door? I seemed to have some unexplainable relationships with doors(oh tell me about it 😩)
I stormed in letting the anger and frustration take over me. The door throwing open with the bang sound didn't even startle him rather he peeped from the book, my note book he dared to touch and read it while leisurely lounging on my bed like some indolent panther!
My bed!
He smiled,"hey what took you so long?" Then flipped the next page after licking his finger.
I counted backwards, I need to act a mature one here, one has to be in right and cool mind to handle such pointless and ridiculous situations. I was an adult I was a logical and reasonable adult while he wasn't, he was insolent, mindless and daft!!
I pursed my lips restricting my anger, I crossed my arms standing at the threshold.
"This is intrusion" I told in a clipped tone.
"Hmm. ." He agreed, sounding unbothered and focused on the notebook.
What the hell was he even reading!!
It was my physics derivation practicing notebook.
I tilted my head seeming nonchalant while my foot tapped impatiently, "Sahil, you are trespassing" I tried again.
"Am I?" He asked turning over his body right making his white shirt rode up showing sliver of his stomach skin. Taut, athletic body I never knew I had a thing for that. I drew back hitting against the door in shock on realising I was STARING!
Mentally, I slapped my cheeks to get a hold on and be like myself. Somehow I feared I was losing her, every second.
Sahil was watching me with those intense eyes, lying in the same position he had rested his head on my notebook that he kept it like a pillow. It turned me completely into a mush from inside after whatever was left eyeing his barely called stomach, barely because it was just a millisecond and a millimetre glance.
"Do me a favor, close the door if you don't want others to see what you saw" he advised.
I sputtered unable to manage a reply, now this was more like myself.
He grinned the loop sided one tugging my heartstrings ,"you would get into trouble if someone sees a gorgeous boy in your room"
Oh my gosh!
I ran in panick almost out of the room but got a better hold on myself, barely and closed the door from inside after looking left and right there's was no one in the hallway, then sighed inclining against it.
While he chuckled from behind.
I turned around with narrowed eyes,"wait a minute, I can't see any gorgeous boy here" I lied, breathlessly.
"Meanie" he pouted, clutching his heart.
I rolled my eyes and then walked over cautiously aware of him and his eyes following me. Somehow this room felt small after closing the door, his prominent presence hovered all around enclosing and getting into my head and messing with it.
I sat on my roommate's bed, coming to my roommate WHERE WAS SHE? when she for once was really required.
"Don't even ask me where she is because in 18 years of my life,I still don't know what goes through her mind" Sahil told getting up putting aside his blazer that he took off, getting all ease and at comfort like it was his room and I was the guest.
"What do you mean? Did she leave the door unlocked?" I asked, so annoying wasn't enough my roommate was careless too.
"What do you mean? Did she actually learn how to lock the doors?"Sahil asked back in astonishment.
I blew a lose strand off my forehead,"how insufferable, you both are"
He shook his head waving his long hair in response, "so can I get my haircut now?"
"You mean a demanding and forced haircut?" I moved towards him where he sat which didn't take more than three steps to cover. I stopped right in front of him towering him with my hands on my waist trying to be intimidating and how so I wasn't taking this behaviour in my room.
Sahil looked back at me tilting his head up with a small smug smile,
"Scold me as much as you want to, we have all night, Serra" he pressed on my name quite inappropriately.
I flushed, uncomfortably. "Why are you doing this?"
"Why am I getting what you promised?" He raised his brow in question
"I never promised!" I argued wanted to yell, why was he so determined to trouble me!
"We can get this over real soon considering your skills or we can argue till you give up, choice is yours" he again laid back casually on the bed.
I had a Devil after me who won't stop till he gets things his ways.
Wait, did he say skills?! my eyes widened, "what skills?" I asked sceptically wanted to yank him up and cross examine.
"Your mother works at a salon, hairdresser" he answered promptly.
"My mother is a lawyer" I stated sternly.
"Your mother 'was' a lawyer now she's hairdresser, you lied Serra" he said daring me to say otherwise.
My heart thumped, when I reluctantly agreed, "I didn't lie I just didn't tell you all the whole truth, how much do you know?"
He shot up in a flash scaring me,"that your parents are divorced your father is filthy rich pays all your bills and how your mother and you hate that fact"
I gulped, stepping back,"how do you know this all?" I felt bared and vulnerable, all my secrets he knew, threw my way like he hardly give a damn about it, they were insignificant in every way to him.
I blinked rapidly it was my mistake to forget for the moment who he was and what he really was,
he was a serpent who plays with his prey before spitting poison.
I walked rigidly to the closet, robotically I pulled out a spare cloth, "where's the scissors and the comb?" I asked my voice lacking any emotions.
"Here" he replied clearing his throat sensing the tension in the air now. I grabbed them without looking at him.
Dragging my chair from the study table, I said,"sit here,"
"I mean no harm, Serra I knew it from before you even knew me" he explained weakly, making it worse he knew me from before! I should be relieved by that fact?? How did he know me? I won't even start thinking about that, I don't care.
I didn't say anything, there wasn't anything left to say when someone does a background check on you. And one doesn't do so with no intentions of harming.
"Sit here" I repeated standing behind the chair.
"Look at me"he ordered, moving to where I was swiftly.
"Sit down, Sahil" I ordered back nudging the chair with no glance left to spare at him
He muttered, "you are such a turn off, it isn't even such a big deal, okay Serra last time I am saying look at me"
I looked everywhere but at him. Degrade me or insult me you won't get any reaction from me.
"Fine have your way I am leaving, real bore you are" he said sounding unimpressed. On the way he pushed past the chair knocking it on my knee, the last straw I was clawing on to.. Argh...
My head snapped to him with tears of anger.
He was reaching to open the door I marched and pulled his arm angrily,
He looked back, stunned
"I said sit down, you wanted a haircut and you won't leave without a haircut" I threatened. He had pushed all of my buttons and I have no inhibitions left now.
Sahil saw something on my expression because now he appeared unsure,"ah, maybe some other time" he said, smiling nervously.
I took a step towards him with scissors in my hand, he shifted back mumbling, "okay let's take this with a cool mind"
"Well I don't have it anymore" I said putting my hand beside his head on the wall blocking his escape. The only escape.
His eyes roamed over my face, he bit his lip,"we're so close Serra I can legit count your lashes doesn't that make you uncomfortable?" He derailed the situation and to prove his point he blew coolly on my heated face.
I remained unfazed.
At least I thought so my knees went weak but I still was intact standing straight with having the upper hand, I amazed myself at times, "we're so close Sahil I can legit feel every hard muscle of your body, doesn't that make you excited?" I copied batting my lashed that brushed against his cheekbones, to prove my point I pressed flushed to him chest by chest legs by legs.
In response he smirked lazily dragging his eyes down at me then he looped his arm around my waist and-
Backfire! Backfire!
Didn't want him to get too excited, I poked his stomach with the scissors lightly to divert his attention to the seriousness of this situation.
His body tensed immediately,"hold on, hold on babe I am not into these things" he joked, eyeing the scissors with flash of fear in his eyes.
"You are going to get a haircut, right?" I followed the script before I too get diverted.
When he didn't answer rather appeared reluctant and irked oh.. looks like someone didn't like the taste of their own medicine.
"What do you say?" I poked, again.
He withdrew his arm from my waist unwillingly, "okay okay we don't want your pretty hands to get red now" he gave up.
I backed away quickly and breathlessly.
Who knew acting bold that way could leave you like a jello? I coughed but dusted myself realising Sahil was still here. He can't get to know I was so affected by that little act.
I looked towards where he sat on the chair with arms folded plastering a fake smile, when I walked towards him with the scissors.
He wanted a haircut he will get a haircut now. The one he won't ever forget.

"I know you gonna mess it up but please don't make it irreparable, I have a long handsome life ahead" he pleaded when I ran the scissors all the way up,there would be NO HAIR on the back of his head. That was the initial plan to make a capital L there as you know L for loser but I didn't have a razor so it wasn't possible, nevertheless I still tried I mean who cares if I messed up, in fact that would be excellent if I messed up. And I did make an L however but it didn't look like an L so I gave a try to a D, D for Daft but that was also not possible therefore with whatever hair it was left I made an S. I felt almost bad of spoiling such good hair he had, silky thick hair the one girls would die to have but anyway it was 'almost' so it hardly mattered to me and I wasn't like most of the girls.
"Now, I think my sister was the best option" Sahil lamented seeing the floor covering with his hairs.
"Front turn!" I chimed getting to his front side. I thought I will leave the front as it is but the sight of him flashing his falling hair on his eyes was too pretty for me to leave that way. It required some chopping too.
I bent over him to get the angle with comb and the scissors in my hands,
"At least something good came out of it..." he said casually leaning more when I hovered over him to comb his hair. I hated when he stared incessantly, I cleared my throat,"close your eyes"
"I won't" he fought, dropping them to my lips purposely using a seductive tone.
I nodded rigidly,"alright don't blame me if you lose your lashes or an eye"
"I will," he said quickly shutting them.
I struggled an annoying smile creeping over my face.
I combed and chopped off the front falling hair. Bye bye.
This was hard, I had to agree.
"Done!" I said getting away immediately with a hand on my mouth stifling my laugh.
"Christ" he cursed running his hand to whatever that was left on his head. He dragged it to the back of his head, "what the fuck is here?" He frowned touching the S, my craft.
Time to wrap this up now
I cleared my throat acting nonchalant, "okay, now you can leave" I sang, unlocking the door.
"Oh hell!" He laughed seeing it from the mirror placing it back and smartly using his phone. His laugh was menacing.
Now, my turn to grow nervous.
"You went overboard Serra" he said in a smooth voice his eyes stopped like a scanning laser on finding the culprit on me.
"You exploited my leniency" he said seriously.
I snorted difficult to take him serious with that haircut."you know what? this is the lesson for you to understand you don't always get what you want" I preached, showing him the good side of this hilarious haircut.
He got up tilting his head,"a lesson? Where you marked me huh? territorial much?"
"It's getting late" I glanced at the clock, "you should go now" I suggested nervously.
"You are right I should leave" he said grabbing my baseball cap from my study table it was my gryffindor cap!! He put it smoothly and then he was again back to looking cool and intimidating,"but before leaving, I should pay you for your generous sevice, come here"
I laughed it was so forced that my throat ached,"very funny but seriously now you should leave"
"Come here, Serra" the way he said, firmly and with no room for any protest. I found myself to walk towards him because I feared what will happen if I didn't?
"Sit" he said jerking his head to the bed
I sat at the edge I swear if he tried anything funny I will knee him where the sun doesn't shine. I may be a pushover but I refused to be a doormat who lets people walk over her, no matter how handsome they are.
He drew his head down to me, I sucked in a breath...
