I didn't see her the next day. I was kind of pissed. Had I done something to piss her off? I'd told her my name, but I hadn't been trying to be offensive, I had just wanted to, I don't know, make an impression.
Was it so wrong to want to be remembered?
But maybe I shouldn't have. What if I had scared her off?
I shook my head. I was here for Kaneki. Kaneki. If I kept coming back, I would surely find him one of these days.
The girl was inconsequential.
Maybe that sounds harsh, but I'm sure she matters to someone. I just can't afford to allow her to matter to me, too, because if I get distracted, I might never find Kaneki.
