Chapter 63: Kiss

Shanaya's P.OV.

An

Amazing

Kisser.

I felt jolts of electrical currents passing through my body as soon as his lips touched mine. I wanted to stop him, to push him away and complaint him about this sudden kiss but when he kissed me, I went numb. His lips on mine were feeling so amazing that I couldn't think of anything else.

All I could focus on was how gently his lips were moving over mine. My eyes were closed. My reflexes took over the control and I found myself kissing him back.

Butterflies were flying inside my stomach. My toes curled up and tingles ran down my spine. My mind asked me to back off but my hormones took over the control. His hands-on my waist holding me with possessiveness was making my heart skip a beat.

Need for breath made us part our lips. I couldn't muster the courage to open my eyes for a first few seconds. I was still breathing heavily. Gathering myself, I opened my eyes but they stayed on the ground only. My cheeks heated up. It was one simple kiss still I'm out of breath.

"You're one amazing kisser", Kris complimented me.

"Why did you kiss me?", I asked still avoiding his gaze.

"Because I wanted to", he said as he caressed my cheek with his thumb.

Idiot!!

"Why did you kiss me back?", He back questioned.

Because my hormones wanted to, I thought.

"It's getting late. We both should sleep", I said avoiding his question like it never existed.

"Fine. But we'll sleep together", he said and my eyes widened. I glare at him. Sleeping with him after sharing a kiss with him! No. Never. I can't trust myself.

"I'm talking about sharing a bed. That's it", he said with a smirk. Placing his hands behind my back, he pulled me closer.

"You've perverted thoughts. But it's ok. I can let you take advantage of me", he slowly whispered near my ears. I turned scarlet.

"Shutup", I said pushing him away. His grip on me loosened.

"I'm not sharing a bed or even a room with you", I made myself clear.

"Why? Don't you trust yourself?", He smirked. I narrowed my eyes.

Look at his audacity!!

"Stop talking nonsense", I said.

"Accept it. You find me irresistible. You just want to put your hand all over me", he said and I was embarrassed.

"Stop being a narcissistic monster", I said.

"Prove me then", he challenged me.

"Prove what?", I asked.

"Sleep with me without taking my advantage", he said.

"I'm resistant to your charms Kristein. Get that point in the thick head of yours", I said and he grinned.

"I love it when you say my name", he said and I looked at him disbelief. Did he even listen to me? I shook my head. He's impossible.

"Will you accept my challenge?", He asked.

"Fine", I said giving a little bit more emphasis on my 'e'.

Why am I even talking to him when there is no use?

I walked inside his room without a thought but as soon as the realisation hits me, my stomach churned. I looked at the bed. I turned around. Kristein walked inside and he locked the door. Now it was him and me in this room with one bed. I sat on edge of bed cursing myself for falling into his trap.

I'm a fool.

I guess I've given leave to the term common sense. My mind has gone on vacation giving the thinking department to my heart and my hormones. I'm screwed.

I lay down on my back. Kristein walked to the other side of the bed and he removed his shirt. I got up and sat down straight.

"Why? Why? Why are you removing your sh-shirt?", I stammered. He looked pleased as a sly smile played on his lips. I couldn't help but appreciate how my eyes were just glued to his perfectly toned body.

I'm such a pervert.

"Did you like what you see?", He asked as he grinned. Drowning in a pool of embarrassment, I looked away.

"Turn off the lights. I'm not interested", I said as I lay down and moved my back to him. He chuckled.

"Ok. As you say", he said. I could hear the happiness in his voice. The side of the bed dipped down as Kristein lay down next to me. He switched off the lights. I closed my eyes.

The kiss I just had with him flashed across my mind. I opened my eyes immediately. The room was still not that dark. It was dawn time. The sky outside was painted with a shade of dark blue. Neither moon nor sun was visible. I looked behind. Kristein was asleep.

I frowned. How can he sleep? Did that kiss mean nothing to him? Stupid guy. I kept thinking about how life is an unpredictable journey. If someone had told me that I'll kiss Kristein someday. I'd have laughed it off. But why didn't I feel bad after kissing him? I didn't feel disgust. Ironically, I'm feeling happy, joyful and giddy. Why? Someone just tell me. Why?

I had my first kiss with Dan. That was special no doubt and I can never forget that kiss. But today the kiss I shared with Kristein was different. The kiss I had with Kristein was more passionate and it was best!! I know I'm accepting something I never meant to but this is how I feel.

When did my feelings for Kris change? Time changes everything. Does our perspective of seeing each other change too? When Kristein blamed me for having an affair with Dan, I felt hurt more than insulted. I actually valued his words for the first time. This is new to me.

I slept whilst busy in my thoughts. I don't know what is right or wrong. All I know is I need sleep at this moment.

Next morning, my beautiful sleep was disturbed by the annoying doorbell. Someone was ringing it again and again. Groaning, I opened my eyes. I'll kill someone today. Throwing the quilt away from my body, I was about to get up only when I felt being held firmly in a grip. My eyes landed on Kristein's hand encircling my waist. I turned around only to find him sleeping right next to me.

Who is taking advantage of whom?

I narrowed my eyes at him. His eyes were closed. "Stay here", he said not removing his hand away. His morning face is also very handsome.

Stop praising him, my mind snubbed.

Right!!

"Someone's at door. Leave me", I said.

"That person will leave after some time", he whispered still not opening his eyes. The doorbell rang again.

"You've left me with no option", I said and pushed him with as much force as I could gather in my sleepy state. But I guess I used too much force as Kristein was rolled down the bed. I gaped.

"What the f**k? Really now", he complained whilst rubbing his back.

"You deserve this", I said and ran to open the door.

"Coming. Have some patience buddy", I shouted whilst approaching the main door. As soon as I opened the door, my eyes widened.

"Surprise", a very bright smile on my brother Zac's face greeted me. I saw Olivia standing next to him. Zac walked to me and hugged me.

I grinned molar to molar. "Zac. I missed you so much. What a lovely surprise!", I hugged him back.

"You missed me and I'm here", he said and I just smiled. I hugged Olivia as well.

"Come in", I said and closed the door.

"What took you so long to open the door? Did I disturb your beauty sleep?", Zac teased me and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Who is there?", a shirtless Kristein walked out of the room. My eyes widened. Can't this monster wear clothes? There was a silence of five seconds in the room. Olivia chuckled. She gave me a smirk. Zac frowned.

"What is he doing here?", Zac asked looking at me.

"It's his birthday", I said.

"So?", Zac asked.

"So, what? Wish him. Where are your manners Zac?", Olivia said and Zac sighed.

"Happy birthday Kristein", Olivia walked forward to shake hand with Kris. Zac held her in middle and stopped her.

"Don't you own some clothes?", Zac said to Kristein.

"Thank you Olivia", Kris said with a smile looking at Olivia. He glanced at Zac and said, "I do. Let me show you". I rolled my eyes. I'm sure Zac did that too.

This arrogant man!!

"What are you doing here?", Zac asked.

"We had a birthday party for him. He had a backache. So I let him stay over", I said. I eyed Kristein to keep his mouth shut. He rolled his eyes in response.

Monster!!

Zac looked at Kristein and he nodded in response. "My back actually hurts", He said the latter part looking at me. I narrowed my eyes in response.

"Fine", Zac said.

Phew. That was close!!

"Muffin, can you please bring coffee for us?", Zac asked.

"Sure", I said taking a sigh of relief.

"In the meantime, I would like to have few words with Mr. Oberoi", Zac said and my heart came to my mouth.

Dayum. I celebrated so early.

"Ok", I said taking a deep breath. I eyed Kristein signalling him not to say anything stupid. He raised his eyebrows in response.

God. Help me!!

I walked to my room first and freshen up quickly. Olivia came along with me. I brushed my teeth and when I came out of the washroom after washing my face, Olivia gave me a sly smile.

"So?", She asked.

"What?", I asked. My heart was already uneasy at the mere thought of Zac and Kristein talking downstairs. God knows about what!

"I need details. We're not leaving the room before that", she said and I sighed.

Who said she's the mature one? She's a carbon copy of Aaliya and Angel.

"Not right now. I can't let Zac and Kristein stay together for too long. Help me making coffee", I said throwing the towel on the bed and ran out. Olivia followed me.

We're in the kitchen. I was biting my nails in anxiety and Olivia was putting coffee in the machine. She looked at me. I was feeling jittery. I don't know what the heck is these two talking about? Instead of entertaining my guests, I gave chores to them.

Such a bad host I'm.

"Are you alright?", She asked. Her voice was filled with concern.

"No. I'm not. I don't want Zac to know what happened last night between us", I said.

"Did you do it?", She asked and my eyes widened.

"What? NO. NO WAY. NEVER. ARE YOU MAD?", I came out way too defensive.

"Then why are so worried? What happened last night?", She frowned.

"Actually, we-", I was cut off by the presence of Zac and Kris making their way inside the hall. I left Olivia in the kitchen and came to the main hall. Kristein was all dressed.

"You guys took long", I said leaving a deep sigh.

"Boys stuff, you know", Zac shrugged his shoulders. He glanced at Kristein and said, "Am I right?".

"Absolutely", Kris said.

"I should be leaving now", Kris said looking at me. I nodded.

Yes, please.

"Why so early? Have coffee with us at least", Olivia walked inside the hall with a coffee tray.

Why are you stopping him?

"No. I'll be leaving. Thanks for the offer though. May be some other time", Kris said.

"Yeah. Bye", I said. Olivia nudges me.

"What?", I mouthed her.

"Why don't you drop him to the car?", She said eyeing me.

No way.

"I'll freshen up first", Zac said and then he left for the guest room. Olivia followed him leaving me and Kristein all alone. I looked at him. He was already staring at me.

With no words further exchanged, we walked to my car. Since Kristein doesn't have a car of his own, I'm lending him my car.

Should I ask him what did he talk about with Zac?, I thought.

No, that's not a good idea. I should not meddle in between, my mind replied.

"How is your back?", I asked as I noticed Kristein placing a hand on his back.

"All thanks to you, it's hurting", he complained and I rolled my eyes.

"You should have kept your hands to yourself. It's all your fault", I said.

"You're the world's best cuddable person ever. I couldn't resist", he grinned. My cheeks heated up.

"Stop talking. Go home and take some rest", I said passing the key to him.

"I'll pick you up in the evening", he said.

Why?

"Zac is here. I want to spend some time with him", I reasoned out.

He nodded his head in negative. He walked two steps closer. Cupping my face he said, "You've a lot of time to spend with him. I've very few days".

"What do you mean?", I asked.

"Go inside. Take rest. I'll pick you up at five-ish", he said and then waving his hand at me, he climbed inside the car and drove away.

I walked inside and saw Zac and Olivia sitting on the couch having coffee. I walked and sat next to them. Zac looked at me and I smiled in response.

"How are you muffin?", He asked.

"I'm fine", I said.

"Just fine! No fun?", He asked.

"I work, eat, sleep. That's all", I said.

"Then why didn't you call us from past one week?", He asked.

I bite my tongue. I almost forgot. Kristein kept me busy with his thoughts. That stupid monster is ruling my mind.

"I am sorry", I said making a puppy face.

"What happened to your forehead?", He enquired.

"It's just a small injury. Nothing big", I said waving my hand at him. I don't want him to know about the accident. It'll worry him.

"So, you've started lying to me now. Neither you told me about the accident nor you informed me about Kristein staying here with you as your roommate. I thought you hate him", Zac asked. He looked unhappy. I clenched my jaws. That Kristein the monster told everything to Zac.

Oh, I hate him so much. I'm gonna kill him.

"I... umm. Let me explain", I said finding it hard to find one complete sentence.

"No. Don't. I am not in the mood right now", he said and then angrily, he walked to his room and banged the door behind. I kept calling his name but he just ignored it.

I glanced at Olivia. "Don't ask for help. I need an explanation of your little stunt, lady".

I sighed. "Fine. Come to my room", I said and picking up my coffee mug, I walked to my room with Olivia.

There's a lot of explaining to do!!
