Chapter 11
They were one of the fist pairs to show up at the ship. The only ones faster were Triclops and Flyboy, fucking nerds. The boys sat down at the bench they had been sitting on before. It took another twenty minutes for the majority to show up and even then Mosshead and Mickey were ten minutes late.
„Bet they were making out somewhere." Thatch wispered. Casper smiled when Thatch cursed silently. They could have done that to annoy their friends.
They arrived at school ready for a late lunch. „What's the term for a meal between lunch and dinner?" Casper asked. „Snack?" Thatch muttered. „No, No I mean. There is brunch which is the mixture of breakfast and lunch but I mean there is no linner or dunch." Casper explained as they entered the cafeteria. „You're weird." Thatch teased before kissing Casper's forehead.
The ghost had almost forgotten they were in presence of other students. They got some food and sat down on a table. Their friends were a bit slower, as usual but not much later Mantha and Ra sat down next to Casper. While Dummy and Slither sat down on either side of Thatch's bench. They had an argument. As usual.
„Yo Casp tonight is one of those party's in the library. You and Thatch should come too." Ra insisted. The ghost glanced over at Thatch who was currently trying to solve his friend's fight. „Oh I don't know if that's a good idea..." Mantha stretched over Ra's lap. „Aw come on it'll be fun I promise." the zombie shouted. „Uhm-" „Of course we'll come." Thatch answered. „How could we miss that?" he added.
Casper glared at him. He actually just wanted to lay down in bed and forget this whole day. There was a lot of stuff to unpack old and especially new one. But the eyes glancing at him were too convincing so he agreed.
They wouldn't go to the party before nine so he could lay down a bit. To stare at the wall and process everything. Ra and Mantha we're over at Mantha's room so peace and quiet.
Thatch's words about their friendship echoed in his head. His friends we're great friends. They had always cared for him. They just didn't know because he chose to not tell them. There was nothing else to worry about. Totally not. But somehow Thatch knew all this stuff, and they didn't that seemed unlikely... maybe they didn't care maybe he wasn't important to them, maybe it would be like-
Casper sat up and shook his head. Okay don't think about it. He needed to find a way to distract himself. Think Think Think.
Thatch was sitting in his coffin listening to Dummy and Slither who were explaining their argument. No they weren't finished yet. They managed to shut up during lunch though. He wasn't even listening, just nodding and occasionally making that „hm" sound.
The three were caught off guard when the door opened. Casper walked in. Not acknowledging the couple just walking over to Thatch and pulled him into a kiss. The vampire was more shocked than he wanted to be but did let it happen. This kiss had a somewhat passion not in a horny way more aggressively. Somebody wanted to get distracted.
Thatch actually kissed back wrapping his left arm around the ghosts waist to help him into the coffin. His friends seemed as surprised as he was so they were just staring without a word. They didn't move until Thatch suggested aggressively, due to a hand gesture, them to leave.
The door closed and they could hear their steps getting away from the door as they separated. Looking at each other for a second. Breathing heavily.
„So you tryed to be annoying huh?" Thatch smirked. „I did what you would like me to do." Casper answered sitting back straight. „Sorry for bursting in." he then muttered. „Hope that wasn't important. Thatch laughed and leaned back. „Nah you saved my butt. These two are arguing about nothing." he sighed.
Then it was silent. But a nice silence. Well it was still awkward but better than being alone with his own thoughts again.
He could feel Thatch's eyes scanning him. Casper knew that the vampire knew what's up. „So you're still worried about that fleshie?" the vampire teased. Casper sighed. He was searching for words. „I just want to forget this day." he muttered.
„Then let's drink until we black out." the taller one suggested. Casper laughed. „No." „Coward, let yourself have some fun." the vampire joked. „There is nothing funny about blacking out." the ghost answered.
Thatch's had slightly wrapped around his neck and and pulled him suddenly closer. Their lips almost met again. „Maybe you need to redefine your definition of fun." he wispered. Both of the boys were now a little caught of guard. The atmosphere got intense all of the sudden. There wasn't a reason to kiss, no one was there to annoy or nobody was about to come in. But still it felt like they should.
The door handle moved. Thank god. Who ever this would be, they had to be prepared to be ignored. Before they could kiss though a hand separated their lips. „Thatch have you seen my charger?" an annoying voice asked. „I'm busy Moss." Thatch hissed. „I don't care I need my charger. The last time I had it was here. Mickey doesn't let me use hers anymore." he sulked.
„I don't care fuck off." Thatch growled. Mosshead didn't seem to be scared so he just kneeled down to say. „Hey there it is." and took his phone charger. „You know heard you talking. That wasn't very couply of you." he teased. While Casper froze Thatch made a hissing sound before slamming the door shut.
Casper now sat straight. What was that? Yeah kissing but not for a reason. What was he thinking? Now he made it worse. Thatch sat down again. Embarrassing silence.
„You should change for the party." Casper suggested. „It seems uncomfortable you know." Thatch cleared his throat. „Yeah you're right I should wear something else." He lied he should't change but the ghost needed to get some fresh air.
Thatch seemed to think the same way he grabbed another buttoned shirt and disappeared in the bathroom.
He came back wearing the same shirt but in a different white shade. The buzzing of Casper's phone broke the silence.
»Come over we predrinking, want to see how much your bf can take« Ra had texted. Perfect. „Let's go. They want to predrink." Casper huffed. „Already? It's not even eight yet." Thatch asked confused. „Dude you wanted to get blacked out. You better start early." The ghost joked. Thatch roled his eyes before they left.
Casper usually didn't join the predrinking sessions, we'll he used to spend the Saturday evenings at Jimmy's. He shook his head. They're were actually a few people in his' and Ra's room. Wolfie, Flyboy, P.K. And many more of their friends. The ghost was surpirsed that this amount of monsters even fit in their room.
Mantha swooped over. She was in stage one of being drunk. A bit overly excited but she was still herself. „I'm so glad you guy's are here." she greeted. Hugging them both. Both was the keyword here. Sober Mantha would never touch Thatch except for a punch or something ending to pain.
The boys greeted back and the zombie handed Thatch a red cup. (You've seen movies) „Hey Mantha can you hand me one too?" Casper asked. Mantha looked at him in confusion. „Are you sure? You never wanted to." she giggled „Thatch is a bad influence isn't he? Here you go, careful there is alcohol in it." she joked. „Thanks I‚ll note that." Casper roled his eyes before taking the cup.
He never liked the taste of alcohol but he needed to get rid of his feelings. He took a sip and shivered. And people drank multiple bottles of that? „Woah Woah calm down party animal." Thatch laughed taking a sip as well. „Beer tastes like shit though, I'll give you that." he muttered. „Everything alcoholic tastes like cleaning supplies." Casper countered. „Except for a fine whine." Thatch explained. Casper roled his eyes taking another sip. Nope didn't get better.
Slowly everyone got on their way to the library. The older students always threw parties on the weekends. Either no one notices or no one cares. The music was already blasting and many were already there. The liquor was hidden behind the library counter, one of the older students was playing barkeeper.
Ra and Mantha were already broken lose, Dummy and Slither probably were making out in one corner of the room. The ghost took a deep breath before taking another, bigger sip. Half empty. It turned full again. Thatch had emptied his cup into Casper's. „What the-" „I'll get myself something good." He announced. Casper was about to follow. He didn't know what else to do. The vampire stopped him. „Sit down." he yelled over the music which was turning louder. He pointed at one of the tables standing in the corner. It had a few chairs around. These were meant for the passing out students who wouldn't make it back up again. Since it was the start of the party Casper figured it would be okay to sit down there.
That's why Casper never went to parties it would always end like that. If you're not an extrovert like Ra or have someone to make out with like Slither you'll just lose. The ghost pushed his cup away from him. „Yo lover boy." he flinched. Mosshead was standing next to him. „Don't mind if I do." he said and sat down. Uncomfortably close. „Uh hey." Casper greeted. „So you and Thatch huh? Who would have thought. Not me that's for sure." If Casper would have been able to sweat he would. He took his cup again, taking a sip to be able avoid talking. „You know Thatch never liked a guy before. And he never got tired to mention how much you were annoying him." he continued. »hah that's what a lot of people say about me« Casper joked in his head. „All I'm saying is, you should be careful maybe Thatch is just pulling a prank on you." Mosshead muttered.
„Don't you have a Skeleton make out with?" Casper muttered before flinching. Did he really just say that? Okay, so the alcohol was working. Great. Mosshead seemed to be caught off guard by Casper's words. „You- You know what- Fuck y-" A hand slammed on the table „Fuck off Mosshead." Thatch hissed. The troll didn't know what to say so he just walked off. Huffing to himself.
Thatch sat down. „You got your whine?" Casper asked. „Yes, from a plastic bottle." The vampire gagged. Casper giggled. That wasn't funny at all but he blamed it on the alcohol. Was it him or did Thatch look better in the purple light? No no no. He should stop. Don't think about it. It was hard to look away but he had to.
Casper had hoped getting drunk would be a solution but it achieved the opposite. „You okay?" Thatch asked while looking into the cup. „There is a hair in it . What the fuck."
The ghost now turned around. „What how?" They both looked into the cup. „I don't know but, gross." The taller one muttered. Thatch handed him to cup to grab for Casper's. He took a big sip. „So beer it is." he huffed. „You should hand this one to Mosshead." Casper suggested. How could one get this tipsy from a little over half a cup of beer? „I like your drunk thoughs." Thatch grinned.
This fucking smile. „Heh thanks." Casper didn't know what else to say. Another couple was kissing in the corner next to them. The ghost's foot tapped against the floor multiple times to calm him down.
His right hand was playing with the cup while the left was dangling down. Thatch leaned back and groaned. He stretched. And then let his arms dangle down. The back of their hands met. Casper flinched. All of the sudden he got nervous, well more nervous than before. Holding hands had never been a big deal for him. And now. He should take it- NO definitely not, not if someone couldn't see them.
„Hey let's get some better drinks." Thatch wispered. The ghost blushed and nodded. They got up and looked at each other for a minute. Before he'd turn red, Casper passed him and grabbed Thatch's hand. Now he had a reason to. He didn't want to lose him here. The vampire took the initiative again and lead Casper through the amount of creatures.
Finally they reached the counter. Thatch handed him a shot. They both nodded before swallowing the liquid. This time Thatch couldn't pull Casper with him. The ghost kept him close. „We should leave." The smaller one wispered.
They blinked at each other. Before doing so. Thatch once again lead the way. They still were holding hands. They could meet someone right? The amount of creatures got lower the closer they were to the dorms. Still Casper squeezed Thatch's hand and the vampire squeezed back. Which gave the ghost a tingly feeling. They stopped at Casper's door. Once again they looked at each other.
Thatch's purple eyes tryed to tell him something. „Did, did we just leave the party after like thirty minutes?" Casper asked slightly giggling. The vampire chuckled. „I guess we did. We didn't even got to annoy anyone." „Except for Mosshead." the smaller one added. Now Thatch bursed out in laughter and the ghost couldn't help but join in. Suddenly he found himself pressed against the door frame, feeling the vampire's lips on his own. „Somebody's coming." he wispered against Casper's lips before kissing him.
Finally. It was like a weight had been lifted. The ghost pushed the vampire against the door, not stopping the kiss. Thatch opened the door behind his back and lead the smaller one inside. Infront of the bed they made a turn and the taller one pushed the ghost onto the mattress. He unbuttoned his shirt before climbing on the mattress as well, pushing the ghost up against the cold wall. „I lied." he wispered. „There wasn't anyone."
Casper grinned. „As if I didn't know that." The vampire smirked before kissing him again. Pressing him harder against the cool wall. His hands slid unter Casper's hoodie. While the ghost had his own hands tangled in the vampire's black hair. He didn't know if the aggression and passion in this kiss were due to their rocky past or just because they had been pretending for too long. But honestly he didn't want to know he just wanted to enjoy.
Thatch's lips tasted good. Well good as in cheap whine from a plastic bottle and gasstation vodka but that wasn't the main taste. It was just good. His brain shut off while they continued their kissing. This way he almost didn't notice how their kiss slowly evolved from drunk and aggressive to careful and loving.
Casper's first and probably only drunk make out session and it was with someone who gave him butterflys. Who would have thought?
