; knights in white
hoseok stood at his window, staring down to the surface which was ridiculously far away. he watched the swords fly and the earth crack, he heard the water flying from people's hands and felt the heat of the fire projecting from many's hands. loud growls and roars erupted from those who could shapeshift, pouncing on their prey to save their lives.
"i need to go out and help them." hoseok whispered, and there was nobody there to stop him.
"there's going to be a battle soon, between black witches and white witches. you leave to try and help, and you die." yoongi let go of both of hoseok's hands, placing his back by his sides.
"oh...at least it's a heroic way to die." hoseok shrugged, a grin that yoongi was not expecting painted on his face.
"you're not going to die, hoseok. i'm here to prevent it." hoseok put out a hand to allow yoongi to sit down, and as he sat he spoke.
"what are you going to do, follow me everywhere?"
"i'm afraid so, yes."
"so, you're moving in here?" hoseok rubbed the back of his neck nervously, looking down at his extremely posh and expensive robes. yoongi was jealous that he had the money to buy it.
"yes. you're stuck with me now," yoongi ripped his eyes from the other boy and concentrated on trying to warm himself up. the death surrounding him was horrid, he had only recently obtained his powers and he had no idea how to control it. his mother said that he will soon feel better around those who are close to death, but it just didn't seem to happen at the moment. "the king says that i can't leave you alone. unless you're on the toilet, of course. that's just creepy."
hoseok cackled, nodding his head alongside it. "you're right, you're right. let's hope we get along, shall we?"
"we shall." yoongi nodded, something out of the window catching his eye. he stood up and proceeded towards the extraordinarily spotless window, watching as a ball of water flew across the field just below.
"that's knight park jimin. he's in training at the minute," hoseok spoke from beside him, placing a finger on the glass and following the blue haired boy, identified as jimin, gently with it. "he's a water bender, obviously. you see that boy?"
hoseok moved his finger and gaze to a red haired boy, who was creating fire in his palm as they spoke. "that's knight kim taehyung. he's a fire bender. those two train together all the time, and i'm pretty sure jimin has a crush on taehyung."
"wow, i'm learning gossip already," yoongi chuckled and watched as they sparred. "my power is so boring compared to others. you can shapeshift! your dad is an earth bender! there's people who can control minds, and what can i do? see the future!"
"that's still a very interesting and important gift. especially when it comes to battles," hoseok reassured, placing a hesitant hand on yoongi. the older did not mention the horrid feeling he got from it. "if we didn't have people like you, we would live our lives in a pit of worry."
"i guess you're right. we can sense soulmates, death, and destruction. that's about it." yoongi chuckled and scarcely leaned against the wall, cold waves crashing down his arm from hoseok's touch.
"another knight down there can control minds, now that i think about it. do you see him?" hoseok pointed at a boy walking towards jimin and taehyung, watching them from a distance. jimin's hands suddenly dropped, and the two saw his lips move to form a name. "that's kim seokjin. he helps those two steady their mind so they can't be controlled."
"that's awful nice of him. how do you know all this?"
"they're my friends, of course! i have more than just namjoon," hoseok rubbed at the back of his neck. "who are your friends?"
"i only have a few. i have my cousin, jeongguk, who lives with my mother since his parents were murdered. i have im jaebum, a shopkeeper who used to sneak me bread. he can control minds, so he used to always manipulate his worker so they wouldn't see him do it. his boyfriend, choi youngjae, one of the most powerful air benders i've ever met."
"air benders are extremely rare. how come he never came to train as a knight?" hoseok removed his hand and yoongi let out a huff of air, relieved to be able to move his arm again.
"he was going to. he loved jaebum too much to leave him." yoongi laughed under his breath as hoseok awed loudly, holding onto his chest dramatically.
"young love~" hoseok cooed and moved away from the window, slipping his feet into a pair of shoes left at the foot of the bed.
"where're you going?"
"to show you your room, of course!" hoseok wrapped his fingers around the other's wrist and pulled him along and out of the bedroom door. they walked for at least five seconds, to the room next door.
"my gosh...this is way too big for me." yoongi whispered in awe, his hands interlocking behind his neck.
"it's most certainly not," hoseok nudged him and placed an arm around his side. "it's my gift for looking after me."
"well...thank you, hoseok. i've never slept in a room this big- actually, i've never lived in a house as big as thisㅡ"
"you're kidding, right?"
"i wish i was. we've never had a lot of money." yoongi sank down on the bed and almost let out a cry of happiness at how comfortable it was.
"we'll have to share a bathroom, is that okay with you?" hoseok sat next to him, smiling down at the shorter boy. he was perfect shoulder-leaning height.
"that's absolutely fine. thank you, so much." yoongi looked up at him with a clearly genuine grin, his eyes sparkling. never in his life had he experienced such extraordinary pieces of furniture.
"you really haven't lived in any type of luxury, have you?" hoseok sighed, smiling gently when yoongi shook his head.
"i haven't. this is truly amazing. it's a shame i'll have to leave one day..."
"yeah, it is."
