"Why are you disturbing my sleep?" -Cheren Nakashima, age 18. Occupation? Um... fresh high school graduate pursuing a pre-college career in art. I'd woken up to the sound of my phone ringing on my nightstand and picked it up begrudgingly on the last ring

"Nice to hear from you too older brother whom I love so much, turn on the tv. Your girlfriend is on." -Ethan Nakashima, age 16. 11th grade student working to pursue a career in neuroscience and/or chemical engineering.

I rolled my eyes and turned on the tv, surfing the additional options till I tuned in to Korea's weekly idol...

"So today, we have a surprise guest with us, don't we?" The male host said

"Yes Kevin--[couldn't think of a name so I took one from after school club]--, actually we do. Aside from our already scheduled guests here today Astro, thanks again for coming you guys, we have the lovely, the talented Park MinLee!-" The female host Katelyn announced

Maori walked unto the stage and sat amongst the crowd, sharing around hugs. I swallowed involuntarily, she'd definitely matured over time.

"-I also heard that today is your birthday Min, is this true?" Katelyn continued

"Um... yes actually, it is, by the American aging system I'm 17 today." She replied sheepishly

"Ah, happy birthday then, fans are already flooding us with birthday messages for you, are you excited to go through some of them?" Kevin said

"Yeah, I am!" She said with a bright smile

"Alright, so... Abby from Brooklyn says... 'happy birthday to the wonderful actress and solo idol Miori, wish you a great day of many happy memories and much more, we love you.' Abby also says that she's watching live right now and she'd love to hear you sing something for us. Wait, on someone's birthday, aren't you meant to sing for them and not the other way around? I don't know how the world works again." Kevin said laughing

"Aww, thanks Abby." She said, laughing, "um... what song should I sing?" She asked

"Why not feelin? You know, the song you did with Eric Nam?" Eun Woo suggested ((please note, for this to work, I kind of took Ailee's songs and erased her from existence, thank you))

"Ah! That's true, Eun Woo and Sanha are low-key Miori fans." Katelyn said

"Really? I'm honored, I love you guys too!" She cheered, "alright then, but I need assistance." She said and gave Eun Woo the other mic, he slowly nodded as the song started

I picked up my phone and checked the date, it was still 11:35pm March 14th by my time, but it was probably the 15th over there. I pulled out my sketch book and took a picture then added a message

I sent it to her phone immediately they finished singing and everyone was clapping for them. May's phone made a chime noise and she picked it up and read it, a bright smile lit her face as I watched her type back

They looked at her speculatively, "what's that? Could you be talking to a lover I don't know about?" Kevin teased

"Well it's obvious she may actually be talking to her actual boyfriend Kevin." Katelyn said

"No, no, it's not like that." She said laughing, "my old best friend from the states, Cheren, sent me something." She explained

"It seems like more than that, was it only me, or did she seem REALLY happy to receive that text?" Kevin asked

"No, it's just that. I haven't seen him in three years and we have talked in quite a while so... yeah." She explained

"Aww, he's not a really good best friend then." Kevin said

"No, he is. He's just been busy. He graduated from high school late last year and now he's an artist. He drew me a picture actually." She stated

"That's cool, can we see it?" Kevin asked

"Sure, definitely." She said, handing him the phone. They hooked it up to the system

"Wow! That's really well done! It almost looks real. I could actually mistake it for you." Kevin exclaimed as they all clapped, "if you're watching this right now Cheren, then let me just say, you have a talent." He said

"Yeah, I hope you come to Korea soon cause we'd really like to meet you." Katelyn said, "Well thank you for making an appearance, we know your really busy."

"Yeah, I was meant to meet up with Lee MinHo after this so..."

"Wow, really? That's right, you guys are starting in a new k-drama together, everyone has been so hyped for it, is it jarring to act along side someone like that?" Katelyn asked

"No, it's quite fun actually, I feel like acting with him brings out the best of me, cause I feel like I'm acting with a professional so I need to be well polished to share the screen with him. But in reality, he's actually a really nice person to get along with, he's fun to talk to as well so, it's entirely worth putting all my effort into improvement." She explained

"Well, that's good to hear, we shouldn't keep you. What was the drama called again?" Kevin asked

"Um... loveless I think? Loveless?" Katelyn asked

"Yeah." She confirmed

"Your name is Park MinLee, is there any relation between you two?" Kevin asked

"Oh, no. My last name is Park and my generational name is actually Chi, not Lee, but we changed it since people used to call me Kimchi instead of Minchi and I just used to stare at them like, 'Stop! I'm not food!' So." She explained and they laughed

"Oh, okay, we were scared because that would've been awkward. Acting as lovers with your distant cousin." Katelyn started

"No, no. It's not, ha. Well I really have to go now." She said

"Yeah, it's so sad but we have to say good bye. Thank you again, and that's all the time we have today for weekly idol, we'll see you next week with EXO! Have a great week everyone and make sure to watch the first episode of Loveless when it comes out this evening KST, bye." Katelyn announced as the show ended.

I turned off the tv and laid back on my bed, "well then Cheren, I just got back from school so I need to do homework." Ethan said as he was about to cut the phone

"Eth, wait." I said

"What is it?" He queried

"Aunt Chiho still lives in Seoul right?" I asked, looking at my calendar then pulling my laptop out and looking through tabs I had already opened

"Yeah, she owns a goshiwon/goshitel, why?" He asked

"I'm coming to Korea." I said as I hung up the phone and payed
