"I'll choose you. And I'll choose you, over and over and over. Without pause, without a doubt, in a heartbeat. I'll keep choosing you."

Allured by the scent of freshly baked Christmas cake coming from a neighbouring bakery amidst the bustling streets, I take my lingering gaze off of the enormous Christmas tree adorned with glistening ornaments and glowing fairy lights draped around it. Christmas is right around the corner and that gets me so excited.
We walk around the place as Noah talks about the things he has done here, in his hometown. I watch as people swarm in and out of the bustling coffee shops and bakeries like bees as Noah tells me, "There was this one time when Josh dared me to go rollerblading naked down this street."
My mouth forms an 'o', "And did you do it?" I see him chuckle and I already know the answer, "My heart goes out for all those poor people on this street who had to see you that day."
I pretend to gag as Noah laughs again, "Well, the people who saw me that day were actually blessed. I'm just saying." He winks at me and then shrugs before walking up-to his dad who was way ahead of us.
As the evening sky faded away, the pink and orange hues were replaced with dark shades of blue, whilst the amber light of the street lamps spilt on the stone-paved streets. As we return back home, Lotte asks, "Do you want to have a movie night?"
"Um, of course," I smile.
"Well, in that case we need to get some snacks. Why don't you and Noah buy the snacks while I make the living room cosy with blankets and all?"
"Sounds good to me," I reply.
"I have an idea. You remain right here at the checkout while I go grab the snacks. I want to surprise you with the best candy and I feel like it will be more fun that way," Noah says all excited like a kid. We are currently at the grocery store and Noah wants to do the shopping all on his own.
"But what if I don't like the candy you buy?" I'm very serious as I ask that.
"Then I'll eat it." I playfully slap him and he laughs, "I'll be back in 10 minutes so wait right here."
"Okay whatever," I grin because I can't wait to see what candy he ends up buying.
Right now, I'm standing here watching people walk in and out of the store. Sometimes when I'm really bored I rank random people's outfits and that's exactly what I'm going to do today because it seems as though Noah is going to take forever.
First, an old and grumpy man catches my attention with his grubby corduroy cloth cap, an old checked shirt with two buttons missing and baggy jeans that had seen better days. As soon as he shuffles past me, I inhale the foul smell of cigarette smoke and stale beer. I rate him a 2 because of the cigarette smell. I hate that thing.
Next, I see a young man, who is probably in his early twenties. He is wearing dressed khaki trousers, brown unpolished shoes, blue shirt unbuttoned at the collar, brown hat. I rate him a nine and it's a little biased rate because his face is a straight ten and that automatically raised his score.
I continue rating outfits when I see him. Not Noah but Ethan. Fuck. I can't move because Noah will be here any minute now and if he doesn't see me he'll definitely be terrified. So I stand there as if my heart isn't beating 100 times per second. I couldn't move my eyes from him and I don't know why. Starting to panic I quickly scan the area to see if Noah is anywhere near me because Ethan is seconds away before notices me.
Our eyes meet. I could see every emotion go through his eyes before he decides to walk towards me. My feet were immobile as I register what is going on. Oh, hell no. Where the fuck is Noah at? Right at that moment Noah comes from behind and hugs me, "I'm back."
Ethan mumbles, "Hey." He is trying to start a conversation with me. The fuck?
My brain starts malfunctioning because before I think through what I was about to do, I turn around and kiss Noah. He was taken aback and I could see that he had a million questions on what is going on but he decides to kiss me back. He let go of the bag of snacks and wraps his arms around my waist. I can't believe I'm full-on making out in the grocery store.
I don't know how long we kiss for but when we finally part our lips, not out of our own interest that I can assure you, Ethan was nowhere to be seen. I smile from one cheek to the other when I see that he's not here and Noah picks up our bag, "You could've at least waited a few minutes so I would have been able to show you what I got but I guess I was irresistible," he grins.
"Fuck you," I laugh.
"I think the store employees are already done with seeing our make-out session so I suggest we fuck in the car or rent a hotel room for the night. How about that?"
"Oh, God, no," I groan.
"Noah, Noah," he moans in a squeaky voice trying to imitate my moans which he hasn't even heard. No one has heard it though because if you haven't already guessed it, I'm a fucking virgin. I love that for me.
"That's not what I sound like, idiot," I shove him playfully.
"Then maybe we can fuck then I'll be able to perfect my imitation of your moan."
"You are gross."
"Fucking is not gross."
"Can you stop talking about that?"
"About what? Fucking?"
"Well, duh," I roll my eyes.
"Okay then tell me why you kissed me out of nowhere in the store."
That hitches my breath because I can't tell him. Ever. "I just–," I try but Noah interrupts.
"You can tell me later. Right now I want you to see the candy I bought for you."
