Chapter Three
"Here we are, boys!" Tink sang out, skipping a little ways ahead of them. She leaned against a tree and stared off seemingly into the light.
"Finally," the teens said together before shooting each other a glare. "This better go away soon."
"Agreed," their fairy friend murmured, fixing her pigtails. Stepping out of the woods, they saw the white mansion leaning before them. A black limousine was parked at the door and they heard yelling inside. Listening closely, there was some faint barking, too.
"God, I hate this place," Tink sighed loudly. Neil gave her a questioning look, but decided not to ask. "How do we get in?"
"We don't," she answered. "There's a garden out back that Max likes to go to. Reminds him of his... Dead father."
Before anyone else could press further, the fairy snapped her fingers and shrunk down. She flew ahead, leaving them alone.
They both sighed softly. "So..." They tried not to growl as they spoke in sync. "Let's just follow her."
As they walked, Harrison plucked a flower off a nearby bush. He cleared his throat and held it out to Neil. "For you, darling," he purred, finally breaking their spell.
The brunet scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Don't use that gay shit on me," he muttered, taking the flower anyway. The magician smirked and kept walking. "M'kay, hon..."
The three had just barely gotten into the yard when the front door swung open. The males froze in place while Tink zipped behind a bush. "Get down!" she hissed. They quickly followed her and hid behind the bush. They watched a women walk out, her heels clicking against the pavement. Three girls followed her out, looking smug and preppy.
"Ok girls, you ready to slay?" One girl asked, her red hair bouncing. The other sang out, "Yass!"
"I just can't wait to meet the Prince!"
"Same, Erin. I hope he's cute."
"Just cute, Sasha? I hope he's hot af!"
"Tabii, what the fuck?"
The trespassers cringed at their valley girl accents. "I see why you hate them now..." Harrison commented. Tink loudly shushed him.
"Oh wait, we forgot Chloe!" Sasha exclaimed, spinning around. She whistled a few times. They watched as a bundle of white fur shot out the door.
"Is that a goddamn poodle?" Neil muttered in shock. As if on cue, the little dog looked towards them, ears perked.
"Shit, get down!" Tink growled, tugging them down by their shirt collars. They came face-to-face with one another and blushed. "Hi there," the illusionist said sweetly. The other flipped him off and avoided eye contact.
Chloe bared her teeth and growled at them. Their fairy friend let out a low growl and hissed at her.
The poodle held her tail between her legs and whimpered before sprinting towards the limo. The girls exchanged glances and just shrugged before doing the same.
Watching it drive off, Harrison let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "That was a close one," he breathed, standing up. He offered a hand to Neil who eyed it warily. The scientist cautiously took it and stood up with him.
"Yeah, it was," Tink sighed, back in her human form. "Now let's go make a man's day! Well, night."
And with that, she started jogging. The boys realized their hands were still linked and quickly let go, flustered. "Fucking gay ass sweetheart," the shorter mumbled, heading after Tink. The strawberry blond smirked and trailed behind him. "What was that last part now?"
"Shut up, you didn't here anything."
He chuckled and caught up to his crush, walking beside him. They almost ran into Tink, who had stopped in her tracks.
"Wait! I remembered something!" she shouted, spinning back around. They skidded to a halt and Neil grabbed on to Harrison to steady himself. "What's the matter?" The performer inquired.
She gave them a michevious grin. "You two are gonna need a new wardrobe."
