Chapter One

Harrison groaned as his head started pounding. He sat up, rubbing his temples. "What the...?"

He opened his eyes and looked around. It was dark out, and he appeared to be in a forest. There was no light besides the moon and a faint orange glow through the trees.

There was some shuffling and a groan from beside him. His head spun towards the noise, slightly worried.

A few feet away from him, sprawled out in the ground, was Neil. The brunet sat up slowly and rubbed the back of his head. "Fucking..."

"Neil! Wha..." A sharp pain went through his skull and he cringed, gritting his teeth. "Shit..."

"Same symptoms?" the other murmured, attempting to stand up. "That's useful..."

"Wh... Where are we?" Harrison asked carefully, standing up.

"You tell me, dumbass," the scientist growled. "We're in the book."

"We're what?"

"I said. We're in. The book," Neil repeated with emphasis. "You opened the fucking book, and it teleported us into it."

The magician rolled his eyes. "I heard you the first time. But... How?"

"You tell me, Magic Boy," he muttered. "Logically, thus isn't possible. But illogically..." he trailed off and glanced over at his companion. "It might be."

"Don't look at me," the strawberry blond said quietly. "Just because I'm magical doesn't mean I know what the hell's going on."

The other let out a frustrated sigh and started pacing. "Well, how are we supposed to get out of this?"

"Go through the book, duh," an all-too-familiar voice stated. The boys looked up into the trees and saw who had spoken.

"Nikki! Oh, thank god we found you!" Neil breathed, approaching the base of the tree.

She cocked an eyebrow. "Who's Nikki?"

His relieved expression quickly melted into a confused one. "You are...?"

After a pause, she threw her head back and laughed. "Alright, alright, you caught me..." she snickered, scurrying farther up the tree. Harrison looked closely and noticed she had... Dragonfly wings?

"The name's Nikki Bell. Or, what my friends call me, Tink," she told them, dangling her legs over one of the branches.

The illusionist tugged on his friend's sweater, getting his attention. "Remember, this is a fairytale world. They may look like the campers, but they're not."

"You know I can still hear you, right?" Tink called down to them. They ignored her. "Got it? They're not the same people."

Neil nodded slowly, still trying to process it. While he did so, the taller looked back up at Tink. "What do you mean, 'go through the book'?"

She rolled her eyes and snapped her fingers. She seemed to shrink in on herself until she was the size of a butterfly. Harrison watched her fly down and land on his shoulder.

"It's simple. This book has three fairytales in it. Cinderella, Rapunzel, and..." She tapped her chin in thought. "I forget the third one." Shrugging, she flew up to his hat and leaned over the rim. "Anywho, it's you guys' job to make sure they all have a happy ending. Simple as that!"

"Hold the phone," Neil cut in. "For one, that doesn't sound simple. And two, you just shrunk and flew down here. What the hell are you?"

"Neil!" Harrison hissed. "That was rude! And she's obviously a fairy."

Tink nodded in agreement, flying up to the top of his hat. She started walking around it in circles. "It doesn't sound easy, but it is. Just help them follow the storyline. Anyway, are you ready to save these stories?"

The science lover narrowed his eyes and put a hand on his hip. "What's the catch?"

"Ooh, sassy," the fairy joked. "But the only catch is someone might try to kill you if you start fixing things."

"Wait, what?"
