Chapter Five
The Flowers' garden was absolutely gorgeous. There were multiple variations of lilies, roses, daisies, chrysanthemums, and even a hibiscus or two. There was also a white marble fountain in the middle of it. And, sitting on the edge of it, was Maxwella.
The four were watching gum from a distance, under the cover of some rose bushes. "How do we approach him?" Neil whispered.
"Allow me," Tink murmured, snapping her fingers. She shrunk down and flew over to the moping teen. The remainder of the group leaned in to hear better.
"If only David was still here..." The ravenet said to himself. Sighing, he stood up and started walking towards the mansion. That's when Tink came into play.
"Hi there!" she giggled, flying in front of him. His eyes widened, but he quickly narrowed them. "Who the fuck are you?" he asked coldly.
"Call me Tink," the fairy answered sweetly. "Now, you seem a little down. What's up?"
Max crossed his arms and glared at her. "How about you kindly mind your own damn business," he snapped.
"Ooh, tough crowd," she mumbled. "Sorry to interrupt your pity party, but we're here to help you have a happy ending."
"First off," the boy growled, standing up straighter. "I don't have a happy ending. Second, there's more of you fuckers around here?"
She flinched at his harsh tone and avoid the second question. "Everyone has a happy ending-"
"But we don't all get it, do we?" he stated, a look of triumph on his face. It soon turned into a more solemn expression. "Go find someone else to help, I'm not worth your time."
"God dammit, Maxwella Alexander Flowers!" The godmother called out, stepping out from the bushes. Harrison was about to follow but Neil grabbed his arm and shook his head.
Max cringed at the name. "It's Max Forest to you, Missy," he spat. "And whatever game this is, I'm not playing. So farewell." He started to walk off.
"Shit- Max!" Neil cried out, coming out of their hiding spot. The other boy turned to him and froze. "Why does he... Look so familiar..." he mumbled. He quickly snapped out of his trance and scowled at them. "Someone tell me what the fuck is going on."
"I will," Harrison volunteered, coming to stand beside Neil. Max's gaze flicked between the two and his tough demeanor fell. "Wait... Holy shit..." He stepped back some. "Are these the two from the prophecy?"
"And bingo was his name-o, you got it!" Tink sighed loudly.
