Harinakshi - PART ONE
Characters
-----------------------------------
Nako village stood tall in the peaks of the Himalayas. The highest village in India, most famous for its lake, which is created on the slopes of the Reo Purgyal mountain of the Srikhand range. During the evening twilight hours, a very large number of birds flock to the lake. There is a rock here that is believed to have the footprint of Padmasambhava, recording his visit to the area. A shrine has been built around this footprint and there is also a stucco statue of Padmasambhava above it in addition to murals. The periphery of the lake has plantations of willow and poplar trees. It is also where the village ends and the deep forest starts.
But the lake is not the only thing that makes the village famous, there is a tale being told for centuries. It has been forwarded from generation to generation. Some believe in it while others just say that there is no truth to it. The truth to the same still hidden. Every winter people from across the village walk to the mountain to pay their respect to the woman who holds the symbol of love and sacrifice. It's said that her soul still comes down to earth during that time because she still longs to see her love and in the hope to complete their incomplete love story.
Naksha stretched her hands up in the air looking at the mountains which she was going to climb in the next few hours. She was here with her trek group as she always longed to climb those snow-capped mountains. She looked excited which was in exact contrast to the girl who sat behind her on a charpai. Her gaze held fear with the thought of the trek in this chilling weather. Kriti adjusted her specs while looking at her best friend's treating back. She got up from her seat and followed to where Naksha was standing.
"Dude, it's going to be awesome," Naksha said moving her gaze after sensing Kriti on the side. Kriti gave her a half-smile while looking at the peak which was currently covered with fog.
"I hope so." She said moving her gaze back to Naksha. Naksha held a big smile but it got faded as she looked past Kriti at the two figures who were getting on her nerved ever since the trip started some 8 days back. She rolled her eyes when Viyaan made his way towards her with a bright smile along with his friend Sidharth.
"Good morning, sunshine!" He said being chirpy which was in contrast to her mood. She rolled her eyes while folding her arms over her chest.
"I'm not your sunshine." She shouted making him chuckle.
"That's me who decides." He said with a smirk. Naksha let out a sigh.
"Why don't you just go away and cling to those stupid girls?" She asked pointing to a girl gang in their trekking group. Viyaan chuckled slightly.
"I don't find them attractive enough." He said with a shrug.
"I'm messy. Can't you see? What do you find so attractive?" Naksha asked again gesturing at her whole messy look from top to bottom. Hair tied up in a messy bun, oversized t-shirt, baggy jeans and shoes. She was nothing like other girls in the group who looked stylish and pretty. Viyaan was unaffected as he gave her a lazy look.
"That's what I find attractive." He said and winked at her making her irritated.
"You suck!" She said glaring at him but that didn't affect him.
The lead of their trekking group made an announcement and they gathered around him in no time. He explained to them about the route, hurdles they will face, the temperature up, and what thing they must carry. All of them listened carefully and within the next few moments, the trek started through the forest.
Naksha noticed one old man also following the trek group with a shawl wrapped around his body. His hairs were a mess just like his overgrown white beard. He had an earmuff and a stick which was helping him to walk through the dense forest. She jerked hard when Viyaan came in front suddenly and held his camera while pointing at Naksha. She frowned and held his camera as she put it down with an unpleasant expression.
"What's so fascinating about that Baba?" Viyaan asked her. She sighed and moved her gaze to him.
"He is coming with us?" She asked. He looked at Baba and then at her while walking beside her as he shut his video cam off.
"Sumer said he always follows trekkers up in a hope to get some food maybe and in return, he tells then some tales." He said and shrugged while putting the camera back into his pocket. Naksha got excited all of sudden.
"Tales?" She asked. Viyaan nodded at her.
"I see you like." He asked while raising his eyebrows playfully. Naksha nodded with a bright smile lingering on her face.
"Of course, my dad used to tell me when I was little and we would roam around from place to place and state to state and it would be just amazing." She said cheerfully remembering the good old times and then looked at Viyaan who was looking at her with fascination. The wrinkles formed on her face all of sudden.
"Hold on. Why am I telling this to you." She said and pushed him away. Viyaan started laughing while shaking his head but didn't say anything more.
"Go away!" She shouted and moved fast to catch up with Kriti who was already way ahead of her. Viyaan joined Sid who glared at Viyaan and lectured him about troubling the girl ahead. Viyaan just smirked but kept his eyes on Naksha as something about her attracted her to him to his surprise. He sighed and looked around to see the same Baba now walking beside them through the thorns, branches, bushes, and dried leaves. Sid and he exchanged a look but kept their speed to match with Baba.
The whole trek was supposed to get completed in two to three days before they would make their way to their next destination. The night halt was at the base of the mountain. They walked the whole day through the forest to get here so they don't have to spend the night in those creepy woods. Now coming all the way here, it was still creepy. Naksha and Kriti along with two more girls built the tent. Kriti took a leave saying she can't stroll outside as the woods and that white mountain at the back freaks her out. She preferred to stay in that tent they built much to Naksha's annoyance. She thought of spending some time in front of the bonfire before discharging to sleep. She sighed while getting seated on the ground feeling the warmth from the bonfire. There were only a few people at the bonfire when she joined and they left soon enough to get some sleep but she sat there looking at the fire burning in front.
"Hi." She turned to find an overexcited Viyaan standing next to her and gave a questioning look. He put his index finger on his lips asking her to stay quiet and extended his hand in her direction. She still gave him a confusing look.
"You wanted to hear the tale, right?" He asked through a whisper. Naksha's face brightened as she held his hand and got up from the ground.
"Let's go!" He whispered again.
"Why are you whispering?" Naksha's asked. Viyaan made a face and looked around as he gestured her to lower her sound.
"Because that Baba is sitting inside that forest and we aren't allowed to leave the camp." He said again through a whisper. Naksha sighed but agreed. She followed Viyaan out of the camp while staying alert and in no time they were inside the forest.
Viyaan stopped on the edge of the forest as he kept looking inside. It was pitch black and the only sound heard was the chirping of the insects and the howl of the wind along with the swaying leaves. It did seem like a scary scene from a horror film. Viyaan could only imagine the worst of creatures lurking the dark. Naksha gave him a questioning look but a smirk formed on her lips in no time.
"OMG! The irony." She said through the smile. Viyaan gave her a look.
"Viyaan Warrior is scared of this forest. How can a Warrior be scared of..." Naksha was teasing when Viyaan cut her off.
"I didn't choose my surname." He said with irritation. There were times when he was the centre of the joke for this very reason. He has always been scared of the dark as his imaginations about ghosts will fly high.
"Where is he?" Naksha asked looking around the woods. Viyaan shook his head.
"I don't know. I saw him walking through the dark." He said and pointed inside the woods.
"Come on. Let's get going." Naksha said and gestured him to follow.
"Naksha. We should get back to camp." Viyaan said looking scared with the thought of going inside.
"Do you think that he is a ghost?" She asked and the look on Viyaan's face changed to something terrifying. Naksha contained her laughter looking at him.
"What?" He asked. She sighed.
"Come or should I go alone?" She asked while raising her eyebrows. Viyaan looked helpless. He thought Baba would be somewhere close but there was no trace of him in this darkness that surrounded them. He held his bag belt tight and turned on the battery.
"Fine." He said and started walking. Naksha smiled and held his hand as she walked beside him.
They moved the lights around but there still was no one. Feeling defeated they thought of getting back to camp finally after strolling through the forest for some time. Just when there was a sound through the bushes which weren't far away. Viyaan's grip on Naksha's hand tightened as he moved the light in that direction.
The light moved from the trees and finally fell on a messy figure standing in that darkness while looking at them through those scary eyes. They both shouted when Baba came in front.
"Gosh, you freaked me out!" Naksha shouted while panting hard. Viyaan was standing at some distance but still held her hand. He was trying to get her back but she was glued to her position.
"Naksha, let's get back." He said. But she was in no mood to listen to him.
"I heard you have some tales to say?" Naksha asked getting excited. Baba gave her a gentle smile and nodded.
"Not tales. But a tale." He said, "I heard it long back from my grandmother." The smile on Naksha's face widened.
"Do you mind telling me?" She asked. She loved hearing these folk stories whenever she visited someplace. The tale makes it even more special, she always said.
"Will you feed me?" Baba asked. Naksha didn't have anything with her so the thought that Baba might not tell her the folk tale made her sad instantly.
"I don't have anything with me now." She said. Baba shook his head.
"The young boy already fed me for today but tomorrow..." He said.
"I will do that," Naksha said getting excited all over again. She looked back at Viyaan and smiled as she held his hand and pulled him closer to her. He just followed.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"It's my home," Baba said. Viyaan gave him a confusing look.
"The forest?" He asked.
"Yes," Baba said with a nod.
"Can we go camping or somewhere near?" Viyaan asked. Baba laughed out loudly making them confused.
"Sit. It's my home and no one will do anything to any of you here." Baba said and took a seat on a big stone that was near like it has been kept purposely there. He looked at Naksha who smiled at him.
"Sit, Viyaan." She said and took her position on a nearby broken trunk and pulled Viyaan along. He got seated closer to her and still not sure about the place or that Baba. Baba took a deep sigh as he kept staring in the darkness at front for some time before looking in their direction and speaking again.
"Our village has been in its place for centuries. It has seen many storms and many beautiful days. This one goes back to the times when we were yet to get our freedom. The tale of love. Her forbidden love. The tale of Harinakshi." He said with his voice a little loud and dramatic. Viyaan sighed and looked at Naksha who had a wide happy smile on her face. He sighed again and looked at Baba who had started narrating the story by now. He already went to the black and white period.
Many years back...
The morning in the Nako village was bright as always. The market was full of sellers and buyers. Some people were standing at a tea stall and sipping the morning tea while others were busy with their everyday chores. There stood a dispensary in the middle of this chaos which provided the villager's medical care with free to minimum fares. Vyom always had this dream ever since his parents admitted him for medical. He had seen the worst happening in his small village where people have died because of no medical services, some being his closest and he wanted to change that. His parents had the same dream for him.
Rishabh came into the dispensary way too early today which made Vyom doubt his intentions. He raised his eyebrows to which Rishabh gave him a sheepish smile. Shyam was already sitting behind the reception with a frown on his face.
"There is a program in the temple today," Rishabh said. Vyom gave him a confusing look.
"We all know that already." He said. Rishabh nodded but smirked again.
"I heard there is a dance program being held." He said and winked. Vyom sighed and shook his head.
"Don't you dare to come to the temple with those disgusting thoughts." Shyam said fuming again. Rishabh rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"You coming, Vyom?" Rishabh asked ignoring Shyam. Vyom shook his head.
"I have work," Vyom said and got back to his work.
"There is no one. Aren't you happy that everyone is doing well?" Rishabh said following him inside.
Rishabh has been with Vyom ever since he got admitted for the medical course and followed him to his village when Vyom conveyed his purpose of being in medicine. He has been working with Vyom ever since. Shyam on the other hand is Vyom's cousin who offered his help to look after his account as an accountant.
"You too come, Sam," Rishabh said teasingly knowing how much he hates that name. Shyam's frown deepened.
"It's Shyam. I am not one of those Britishers." He shouted. Rishabh started laughing loudly.
"Tell him to stop, Vyom," Shyam said looking at Vyom with unpleasant expressions. Vyom sighed.
"You can bug me all you want, Rishabh but don't go in his way," Vyom said.
"Only if you agree to come along," Rishabh said with a smirk.
"Fine," Vyom said finally making Rishabh happiest. He smiled widely.
"That's great. Let's just get over with this day." He said with excitement running in his veins. Vyom sighed and shook his head with disappointment and looked at Shyam while pressing an apologetic smile at him. He just shook his head and got back to his work for the day.
The yearly festivities that held for a whole week in the village had people coming from all around. The rush in this very week would be more than usual making it crowded but the atmosphere was still pleasant.
Rishabh and Vyom made their way to the temple along with Shyam through the crowd. The news about famous Kathak dancer already spread like a wildfire making everyone excited.
"Is she regular?" Vyom asked not knowing anything about this girl who would come to the village to perform Kathak on most of the main occasions.
"I don't know. I usually see her in programs around the village. They say she lives in the neighbouring village." Shyam said with a shrug. Vyom nodded.
"I see. What's special about her?" He asked again.
"They say she is beautiful," Rishabh said and winked at Vyom making Shyam irritated.
"She dances beautifully," Shyam said correcting Rishabh who just chuckled.
"Whatever. Let's go." He said and fasten his speed while shoving the crowd away. Vyom and Shyam followed him out.
The decorations were looking beautiful all around the village. The different kinds of flowers were looking gorgeous, especially on the temple. The set was decorated nicely by villagers to hold all kinds of programs. Today being the Kathak program by the well-known dancer. When the boys reached the place it was already filled with many villagers. Rishabh frowned looking around but a few people came forward to greet Vyom. They offered Vyom, Rishabh, and Shyam the very first row considering the respect villagers gave him for his good deeds.
Rishabh seemed to be happiest sitting in the front row. Vyom and Shyam gave him a look but he just ignored it. The announcement to get quiet was made and in the next moment, the musicians started playing the Tabla, Peti, Sitar, and other instruments. The woman came in front finally with her face covered in a veil. The people around applaud her and the pin-drop silence followed. She swayed gracefully along with the music and Vyom couldn't take his eyes off her. He felt the unknown pull which he never experienced before. The music coming out from her Ghungroos was more soothing than the music being played on the instruments. He was unable to take his eyes off her as he made all attempts to look at her face but couldn't. She moved like she didn't care about the world. She wasn't good but she was the best. She was dancing like she was born to do that.
The program got ended and it didn't even feel the hour was passed. She bowed again without letting go of her veil and moved backstage amongst the huge sound of claps. Rishabh was saying something but Vyom's mind was already drifted to the woman behind the veil. He got up quickly and moved fast to backstage while shoving the crowd and ignoring the shouts of the two boys. He was stopped at the entrance of the backstage but he was understanding as he agreed to wait at the door. He was impatient as he kept on moving back and forth and finally, she came out through that very door. This time without that veil and dressed up in salwar and kameez. Vyom held his breaths as he kept boring into those hazel brown eyes who were looking at him in question.
"You were beautiful." was the sentence he could think of. A beautiful smile unknowingly formed on her lips after hearing him. She lowered her gaze while containing her smile as Vyom smiled looking down at her.
"I mean you danced beautifully." He said while correcting himself and being careful enough to not cross that line. She nodded.
"I am Vyom Acharya." He said introducing himself and added further, "I run a small dispensary in the village."
"Vyom Acharya." She repeated it in an attempt to remember if she has heard that name before but that was new to her. Vyom smiled widely hearing his name from her mouth. It sounded like a melody. Vyom raised his eyebrows in an attempt that might she tell her name. She looked at him for a few moments while being in her thoughts, getting his unspoken question and finally let her guards a little lose.
"Akshi." She said with a half-smile.
"Akshi?" He asked again. She looked around at the crowd. Some were gazing at them while walking their way while others ignored them. Akshi looked at him again.
"Akshi Aranyani." She said finally. Vyom gave her a confusing look as he didn't hear that surname anywhere around but still smiled thinking she might be from somewhere far.
Akshi pulled her dupatta over her head when her co-worker came and stood beside her asking if she would want to leave. Akshi nodded and looked at Vyom as she smiled at him and walked past him. He smiled while looking at her treating back and remembering her name in his mind that he didn't even realise that Shyam and Rishabh were standing close to him. He only moved his gaze to them when Rishabh cleared his throat. He looked awkward.
"Don't even think of her, Vyom," Shyam said in a warned tone.
"Arey yaar!" Rishabh gave Shyam an annoyed expression and put his hand around Vyom.
"Don't worry. And don't listen to him." He said as he pulled Vyom along.
They walked through the market for some time before heading back home.
Next few days went with all of the three getting busy with their work and then with the Puja preparations. Vyom's eyes searched for Akshi everywhere but she wasn't around. Rishabh said he got to know from people around that she left the day itself after her performance. But they have seen her often in neighbouring villages so that might be where she stays. He got a little sadder with the thought of not seeing her ever again but he pushed it behind and focused on his work.
The days passed by and the festivities got over. Everyone got back to their daily life and routine. And then one-day Vyom got an unexpected visitor at his dispensary. Shyam sent her inside against his will. He didn't want his brother to be around her but sadly they were at a place where he couldn't say no to her.
Vyom was pleasantly surprised to see Akshi standing in front of him.
"Akshi?" He said still not believing the reality. She chuckled slightly getting his confused yet shocked state and got seated at the front.
He adjusted his posture while cursing himself beneath his breath at his stupidity.
"How can I help?" He asked getting a little nervous to his surprise. Akshi smiled.
"I just wanted to see why people respect you so much." She said and looked around his small cabin. He gave her a confused look not understanding what she was trying to convey.
"You asked about me?" He asked while getting a little happy. She chuckled and nodded.
"I thought I have heard about you somewhere and it was from someone closer. So thought of looking with my own eyes." She said resting her eyes finally on Vyom at front. He was hearing her with all his attention.
"I also heard from people around." She said and smiled which made Vyom smile along with her.
"I'm happy to hear this." He said truthfully. Akshi just nodded.
"So you don't actually... Like, have..." Vyom started with reluctance as Akshi let out a small laugh looking at him. He sighed.
"No, I'm all very well." She said and raised from her seat. He gave her a questioning look.
"I should get going. It's rare to find humans like you. So I just wanted to say thank you." She said with all genuinity.
"Thank you?" Vyom asked getting up as well. She just smiled.
"Hmm..."
"Akshi?" He called when she was about to turn around. She stopped and gave him a questioning look. He got reluctant yet again.
"Sorry to ask this but you don't live around?" He asked with uncertainty. The expressions on Akshi's face changed suddenly. Vyom was about to take his words back but before that, she spoke.
"No."
"Then?" He still thought of asking because the thought of not getting to see her again was quite disturbing.
"I can't tell you." She said while shaking her head. There was much more to her than he could even imagine. He knew she held something more but he thought of not going there.
"It's OK." He said but looked a little hurt. Akshi felt sad looking at him like that. She was reluctant to trust anyone. Anyone, especially men. But Vyom was different. People have hurt her in the past but this time felt little different to her.
"If you have to say anything then just write and leave in the forest. I will get that." She said and gave him a small smile before turning her back.
"Forest?" He asked but she didn't wait to hear anymore.
"Akshi," Vyom called her in an attempt to stop her but failed as she was already out. He sighed and shook his head slightly still thinking of what she said earlier.
A couple of days went on but the thought of Akshi and her words stayed with him. They kept playing in his mind. He thought of writing her many times but dropped the idea thinking that it sounded absurd. He thought as time will pass he will stop but something was stopping him. And that was the hope. The hope to see her again and that's why one night he held his pen and paper and penned down his emotions. He let out everything he had in his mind for her. He couldn't understand the pull but he still was going along with it.
The night was growing cold and with the fallen snow the other night the temperature was already decreased to minus. He put on his sweater over his shirt and took the lamp as he made his way to the forest. As expected the darkness surrounded the wood giving them a haunted feel but his faith and hope kept pushing him further. Akshi didn't mention anything about the place, so he was unsure if she would get his message. The forest was deep and there have been people who went missing right at this spot. Vyom's grip on the paper in his hand tightened making it crumble. He gulped down hard while moving his gaze around when his eyes fell on one tree which had a hole beneath. He went towards it and put the paper inside. He moved back and moved his gaze once around the forest before going back to his village.
The few days went by and he would visit the very place in daylight only to find his letter there in the same state. The sadness started grabbing him yet again and he started thinking that Akshi purposely lied to him but still his hope didn't die. He strolled through the forest regularly until one day the piece of paper was changed. His heart started thudding inside his chest as he approached the paper. He moved his gaze around yet again and picked it up. There were just two words.
𝒯𝑜𝓃𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉 𝑀𝒾𝒹𝓃𝒾𝑔𝒽𝓉...
His smile was widest to read those words. It has to be Akshi. Even if it wasn't her, he would still want to go and check with his own eyes. His lost hopes came running back with her two words.
As said, he waited for her at the same spot. The snow was falling lightly making him shiver even when he had three layers on his body. He rubbed his hands while looking up at the sky. The moon peeked through the tree branches. It was full moon night. His gaze moved rapidly when he heard a twig breaking from a distance. There was pitch dark. He moved his lamp in the surrounding and finally, saw that one face he was longing to see since so long. Her hazel brown eyes shone as she saw him and a small smile formed on her lips. Vyom finally felt at peace after spending so many reckless nights. She was wearing Ghaghra this time. The sound of her ankle ornament filled the silence with each forward step she took.
There was something mystic about her and her beauty. He felt so much drawn to her more than ever before. The moment felt like a distant memory. There was magic in the air as the moon shone above them and trees swayed in the light breeze witnessing the meeting of two lovers. Vyom kept staring at her without blinking his eyes in the thought of missing her even for a moment. She smiled while stopping in front of him.
"I didn't think you would actually put the letter." She said. Vyom smiled at her.
"If I tell you this truthfully then it sounded a little out of way for me too." He said and went on, "Leaving the letter in the forest."
"But you found it." He said and gave a smile to Akshi who smiled back at him.
"I did." She said and took a deep breath before looking up in the sky, "It's a beautiful night."
"It indeed is," Vyom said without moving his gaze away from her. She looked back at him and chuckled.
"You didn't have any questions for me?" She asked knowing her unusual ways. He smiled gently and shook his head.
"No. I'm just happy to see you." He said.
"I'm happy too," Akshi said meaning what she spoke.
"You are?" He asked. Akshi nodded with the same smile.
"I am. Trust me." She said with assurance. He smiled.
"I do." He said and looked around in the woods. The snow was shining as the moonlight fell on it after coming through the branches but it was still difficult to look at a distance.
"There is a lake at some distance. Can we walk there?" Akshi asked breaking the silence filled between them. Vyom nodded but noticed another unusual thing about her.
"Aren't you freezing?" He asked considering she was wearing just her Ghaghra but nothing else to cover herself from the cold. He said again, "It's cold." Akshi smiled and shook her head.
"I'm fine. Really." She said.
"Okay," Vyom said through a smile which wasn't exactly convincing but he thought it's the better way.
"This way," Akshi said showing him the way. He nodded and followed her through those long trees.
The lake was frozen but it still was most beautiful. They stayed there while talking about themselves asking about each other until very late.
"This is my favourite spot in the entire state." She said while keeping her gaze fixed on the ice at front. He looked at her with a questioning gaze.
"State?" He asked. She nodded sadly.
"Hmm... I have travelled a lot, Vyom." She said and moved her gaze to meet his.
"So I can find you here?" He asked. She smiled hearing his question and got up from her position.
"Mostly." She said and looked at the sky before looking back at Vyom, "The sun will rise in a few hours and I should get going. I need to start my day." He got up and stood before her. The thought of going away from her was paining but he had no other option.
"When can I see you again?" He asked. She smiled.
"Tomorrow. At the same time." She said without any reluctance which made Vyom happy. He smiled with a nod.
"I will look forward to it." He said. She smiled and nodded.
"Me too." She said and looked around before pulling her veil on her head.
"Bye." She said and vanished inside the woods. Vyom kept looking at her until she has vanished completely from his sight along with the soothing sound of her ankle ornament. He sighed and made his way towards his own house. It was already morning and he was looking for the night to come again so he can finally get to see her yet again.
Present...
Baba stopped and smiled looking at the two young people sitting in front who were listening to him with all their attention. Naksha frowned when he stopped there.
"Why did you stop?" She asked. Baba laughed and pointed at the sky. She followed his trail along with Viyaan who was now drowned in the story while forgetting his fears.
The sky was turning its colours and getting ready to welcome the Sun. She sighed and looked at Viyaan with a pout. He looked at Baba.
"When will you tell the rest?" He asked. Baba laughed again.
"Come tonight with my food. I will tell you the rest." He said and got up from his seat. Naksha was about to stop him but before that, he vanished inside the woods.
She looked at Viyaan and smiled.
"Thank you for doing this for me." She said meaning those words. He smiled and nodded.
"I was just trying to impress but even I want to know about that spooky woman," Viyaan said while walking along with Naksha as they made their way back to the camp.
"She wasn't spooky," Naksha said with a frown. Viyaan gave her a look before speaking again.
"Please. I would have never gone inside these creepy wood with the uncertainty like Vyom." He said. Naksha looked at him with a small smile.
"You came with me." She said. He chuckled and scratched the back of his neck.
"Because I know you are not a ghost." He said. Naksha let out a laugh and shook her head.
"What if I turn into one? Will you leave me?" She asked. Viyaan glared at her.
"I don't know. Don't scare me, Naksha." He said being the scared cat that he was. Naksha rolled her eyes.
"Fattu. And then you call yourself Warrior." She said with sarcasm. Viyaan let out a sigh.
"I don't call myself but it's my surname." He said.
"Yeah yeah, whatever." She said as they finally reached the base camp. There was still no one around. People were still sleeping which was a good thing for them. Naksha looked at Viyaan and smiled, "I'm already excited for the night."
"Me too." Viyaan smiled while saying. She held his hand and pulled him towards the camp before saying her bye by pecking on his cheek. Her move sure took Viyaan by surprise but he didn't mind. He smiled at her before making his way into his tent and thinking of resting for at least some hours before the call to the mountain.
