--------------------
Zach called most of his cousins downstairs to witness this.
Bharat had mistakenly worn Ranbir's wedding outfit! Now Riddhima found it hilarious enough to flirt with an embarrassed him. While Ranbir throws a fit at the situation. Neetu laughs in a corner.
"My goodness look at you. Ridhi has anyway dressed herself to the hill. Go marry you two." Bebo winked from the corners. Sam who had excused herself from the show, went to the other room to meet her Alia mami. "Mujhe nahi shaadi karni! This was my dress, why would he wear it?" Ranbir wasn't in a mood for a funny confusion. Poor he was too excited for the day.
"Haan toh mujhe kaunsa sehra baandhne ka shauq hai. Le bhai tu hi pehen. Galti ho gayi thi." Bharat carefully pulled himself out of the dress. "Acha tum log yeh sab chodo, Ranbir quickly wear this beta. We need to begin your pagdi ki rasam. Where's Ayan now? Usko yaad hai ki aaj shaadi hai doston ki?!" Neetu huffed in her colorful outfit.
"Woh toh kabka aa gaya. Alia wale room mein hai. Woh aur Karan." Lolo replied with her glass of sharbat. "Ye lo. Kalti maar di best friend ne! Shuru se iske neeyat theek nahi lage mujhe. Ab dekho ladki waalon ke side kaise ho gaya." Rima bua muttered with a frown. Ranbir shook his head. "He's on both sides. Mujhe taiyaar dekhke kya ukhaad lega. It's a woman's show na. So it's natural for him to see the bride first. I'm sure they must be filling buckets right now."
"Kaunse side mein hai yeh varmala ke time dikh jayega." Akash Ambani with his wife had just arrived for his best friend's wedding with an entire security entourage that made the event more happening and grand. "Tu aa gaya," Rk smiled at his best friend of years. "Asli dost toh main hi hoon. Woh director toh fake hai." They laughed at Jr Ambani's comment.
"He brought his dog squad! Kya baat hai Neetu. Shaadi mein chaar chand lag gaye ab toh." Babita chipped in with a smile. "Papa would have kissed you for this." Riddhima made everyone laugh. "Sadiyon tak bolta mere bete ki shaadi mein Ambani ka kutta bhi aaya tha." The room burst with mirth at one of Rishi's cousin's statement.
Meanwhile on Alia's side, it was similar but emotional mess.
Karan and Ayan reached Vastu around the same time. They quickly fetched their baby girl, to see her first glimpse as a bride. Alia was swarmed with her makeup and styling team since the break of dawn. They were her closest pals and thus none of it felt like a burden. But only added to their collective memory. Puneet her head makeup artist, did her last touches of magic on Alia's face and finished it off with a kaala teeka.
"I think I did my best job on you today. Aloo, your stunning my love. We were meant to do this together. I'm so proud of you two and our journey. We've come this far..." They shared a happy hug.
"Ayanu how do I look?" asked Alia beaming in all her bridal glory. Ayan couldn't respond except for blinking profusely. He looked at her from head to toe followed by Karan. They seemed too mesmerized by her big day transformation. She was a woman in their eyes, from being their forever baby.
Ayan kissed on her forehead and hugging her close to his heart. He couldn't say a word. "You'll make her cry" Shaheen warned carrying a tray of flowers for the bridesmaids. "My aloo.... magical! Just like the love you two have. The light of our lives..." he kept his head on hers and continued to shed sweet tears. Karan sneezed into his tissue from behind. Alia giggled at the emotional scene.
"My God look at you. No words...speechless. What is this feeling Bhatt saheb?" Karan asks in a happy daze, tears smudging his face. Alia's dad comes for a side hug and the two fathers proudly watch their daughter - one from the soul and other from the heart. Alia's mom cleared her throat to get everyone composed.
"Abhi se rona shuru karenge toh baraat top floor pe chali jayegi instead of ours! Let's start moving. Shah come on get those flowers and where are the girls?" Alia and her men patted each other and whispered comforting words. They gave a little re touch to Alia who looked dizzy yet dazzling. She seemed a bit nervous from her bland expression but the light on hers was everything needed for a breathtaking bride. It told tales of their love.
"Guys the baraat are on their way. They are in the lift as we speak." Kanch, Alia's best friend, rushed inside the room to announce. She and some eleven other bridesmaids, all part of their childhood friends group. All the ladies flew from different parts of the world to attend the quickie but very important function of their favorite girl.
"Do not forget the deal. We won't take anything below a lakh!" Tanya reminded to the group. "This looks ridiculous but something I would have loved to be a part of," Karan laughs as he watches a small clip of the Kapoor baraat as they move in between floors, sent by Lolo on their whatsapp group.
"Show me na," Alia peeked in to see for herself but got pulled back by her mother. "Let me have a look at you."
The Kapoors gave a performance of their lifetime at the fifth floor of the vastu apartment (alia's new building). Their heir, apple of everyone's eye, the groom of the decade was stunning in his ivory ensemble. A mint green head ornament completed his punjabi macho. He had the looks of a true blue bollywood prince. The ladies were all decked in their finest elegance. Mother of the groom decided to break off the pastel theme with her colorful attire making her daughter wince for the nth time since morning.
"Maa you really had to wear this chattak color." Neetu ji chuckled at her daughter's pale face. She was just like her father. Bluntly honest. Her presence only reminded her of Rishi, who never left her side it seemed. "Ladke ki maa hai. Haq banta hai sabse acha dikhne ka." Riddhima nodded at a relative's comment.
They were the majority at the wedding. Forty odd guests and most were from groom's side. Alia's side mainly had her immediate family, maasi and son, Karan, director friends from Dharma, her entire styling team and girl tribe.
Groom's team had stuffed half of them inside the elevator all the while dancing to speaker music. It was a unique experience for them as well. They were always known for extravaganza and loud celebrations. This was a u-turn from their natural habitat. All because of the love the yhad for the couple and their sentiments. "Kisne socha lift mein baraat le jaane ka bhi alag maza hota hai," Rima bua made a dramatic crying face to everyone's mirth.
"This is also cool yaar. Yeh wala idea humein kyun nahi aaya Saifu," Bebo pouted for selfies with Jeh. "I can't wait to meet her." Ranbir had his mind only on his woman. The dream and light of his life. He had finally found his calm in his storm. The maddest, craziest woman of his life. The one he found his comfort home in. She became his safe place.
When the lift stopped at their destination floor, they hopped off quickly. "Arey mujhe pehle utarne do yaar." Poor groom was left behind as the rest had excitedly exited. "Kamaal hai dulhe ki value nahi hai aaj desh mein," he muttered adorably.
Groom's side are welcomed into their own pad on the 7th floor, the one originally owned by Ranbir. The fairy lights in twigs covered the roof of his condo in a unique aesthetic style. The whole living room was decorated in a magnificent manner. Bushes of lights and other earthen-natural setup. The house illuminated like thousand splendid suns. And why wouldn't it?
Soni, the mother of the bride walked along with her sister for the welcoming ceremony. The priest for the day had already arrived and was standing next to the baraat, initiating the rituals. Soni did aarti to her about to be son in-law and the rest of her family put garlands to the male members of the Kapoor family. They shared happy embraces.
"Ab aap inki naak pakdiye aur inhe mandap tak le jaayein." The pandit smiled as the fun ritual had begun of pulling in the son in law by his nose. Soni blushed at this and made a 'no I can't do this.' Neetu shook her head at this, 'c'mon you have to! or I will do it!" Soni laughed and gingerly held Ranbir's long nose. Ranbir like the good future son, let her do whatever she was asked to. "Bada obedient damaad hai apna Ranbir," Babita joked.
Ranbir and his family move towards the small havan tucked in the balcony - their favorite spot at home. It was perfect with the ample ventilation and added to the overall aesthetics of the decor. The house looked unrecognizable. Ranbir and everyone else was in awe. They patiently waited for the bride to enter. Ranbir post his part of the rituals stood next to his mom who had her hand on his shoulder to calm him. They needed each other in this bittersweet moment. Without the head of their family, everything felt incomplete.
Next to her Rima and Riddhima stood with the garlands needed for the bridegroom.
Ranbir gulped his saliva for the nth time that day. He was terrified but equally excited. It was going to be THE MOMENT OF HIS LIFE. He had seen this in countless moments. The thud of his heart galloping with every minute passing by. He was impatient to meet eyes with her. He hadn't seen her post their little lunch that they had right before they went in to change. It was a casual relaxed lunch to ease their mind and to finally bid adieu to the boyfriend-girlfriend tag they carried fir the last five years.
This was a new beginning as husband and wife. And they wanted it to be perfect in every which way.
"Papa is proud of you," his mum whispered to him in a gentle voice. He blinked his eyes to stop the tears swirling in his eyes. They were about to brim with the overwhelming situation he was in. He missed his dad terribly too. And was ecstatic to see his bride.
"Kahin Alia bhaag toh nahi jayegi?" Akash joked as he came to stand with his buddy. Ranbir gave him a death stare. "Bhagegi bhi kidhar? Niche saari duniya khadi hai. She will need a helicopter to escape!" Ranbir threw a flying kiss to his eldest chachu. He was in need of supporters.
"Ab bhi time hai bhaag le Rk," Saif joked from the other side. Nope, he shook his head in negative. "You can't shake a man in love," Bebo replied with a wide smile. She was truly happy for her baby brother. Alia and him made a heavenly pair and she was only happy to be a part of their biggest day.
The lights glimmered as the bride entered the venue.

NOTE : IK THIS IS SUPRISING :P
Have a week long gap between my exams until the end of July so thought of completing the wedding series. I might take few more parts to complete this now that we have acquired more information about the wedding from Alia's Kwk episode. Hope to draft and upload them as my mood kicks off in that zone.
Off lately I'm obviously in a baby mood thanks to obsessed daddy kapoor. Shamshera promotions is so so special to me. I can only think of their big day, holding their baby moment and the life afterwards. I do not feel much interest in brahmastra/shamshera/darlings or any movie of theirs too lol. JUST NEED BRAHMASTRA PROMOTIONS TO SEE MY ALOO WITH HER CUTU BABY BUMP AND PROTECTIVE DADDY KAPOOR. Also nokjhok of theirs, competitive games and her side of the story regarding the pregnancy <3
Thank you sm for the crazy views on this book everytime I open this app. It's baffling. And unreal. So happy to be your one stop for Ranlia real life ffs, first book of theirso n this app. First everywhere thou :p I miss my ranbiraliafc on ig :( My poor baby was THE FIRST SHIPPER PAGE OF THEIRS.... THE OG. YOU ARE SO MISSED RN.
Will hopefully complete this series by August. I plan to enjoy Brahmastra promotions as much as I can and hopefully bring about more interesting ff scenarios based on what's happening - I'm sure you'd love that as well. I have tonnes of baby scenarios in my head since the very beginning. Let's see if I implement some of them.
ARE YOU IN FOR TRAGIC/SAD SCENARIOS LIKE REAL SAD ONE'S? FICTION OFC!
I am a huge sadist, melo fan. I enjoy tragedy in movies, books or dramas. I had done a little spin off tragedy series here but took it back owing to less inspiration. But these days I am having strong tragic scenes in my head concerning my ship and I kinda enjoy the pain I feel while thinking off it, makes me cry hard too :p But if y'all are non sensitive and cool with it, we can try that as well here. Just pray Ranbir or Alia herself never read it lol.
Thank you for the light and love always,
Jemi :)
