Chapter 6: True words, forgotten.

NATSU'S POV

I took Lucy's hand and led her outside, and the others stayed back.

"What?" she asked.

"You......drive me crazy." I said unexpectedly. Truly, I didn't know why I brought her outside, I just felt like I had to.

"....Huh?" she asked.

It hurts. Hurts a lot.

"You heard me. I said, you drive me crazy." I whispered. Her face was confused, like she was wondering why I said that and what I meant.

"I.....I don't understand you." she replied.

"Don't you get it?! You drive me crazy! I can't take it being away from you, Lucy! I need you. Every time you speak it makes my heart melt. Your one or two words mean a lot to me!" I burst out.

"Is that bad?" she asked. I shook my head, tears streaming down my face. I pulled her in for a hug, and I squeezed her. I placed my head in the crook of her neck and placed a hand on her head.

"Of course not. That's bull." I whispered.

"Sorry." she said with sympathy In her voice. With watery eyes, I looked into hers.

"Why are you saying that?" I asked her in a low voice, my face watery.

"I am sorry for being like this. I wish I could help, but I can't do anything." she said.

"No, no don't take it like that. It is not your fault. And it makes me feel happy that you speak so much to me only." I said, "It's just........last time you said that you can't remember how love felt like, or any emotion in fact. If that's the case, we can't be together. But Lucy, I feel happy to be with you no matter the relationship."

She stared back at me.

"Thank you." she said. I sniffed and cried on her head. I knew she wasn't crying, that would be impossible.

"I miss......you." I confessed, and I held her tighter. I leaned forward, and to her surprise, I kissed her. She did hesitate seeing as how someone she barely knows is kissing her.

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Erza and the others were watching the pair. Wendy was crying.

"I can't believe it. It's so sad." whispered Erza.

"She lost her memory. They can't be together, they've been separated." said Gray.

"All she needs is her love feeling. Then they will be happy. But it's so heartbreaking, like a sad romantic story!" cried Wendy.

"There there, don't cry." said Charle as she hugged her big friend.

"Poor Natsu........he loves her so much but it's like  he's rejected." said Happy. It was all true. Natsu and Lucy, the perfect couple was separated.

"Let's leave them. It is 6:00. We can decipher the code he left us, which is hopefully easy tomorrow." concluded Master, referring to Ryuk's message.

At night, everyone was asleep peacefully. Or so they thought.

Each had the same dream, or should we say, nightmare. (FROM THIS POINT, I LISTENED TO VIDEO ON SIDE. THE SONG IS NO.4 ON THE VIDEO.)

Erza stirred in her sleep, sweat covering her face. Gray's fingers twitched. Natsu was still sound asleep.....on the outside, but the inside was something else.

Dragon's eye. You are nice people, for bringing it right to me. Hmph, that was easy. Idiots. Wait for blood, wait for the red, wait for the moon.

You shall know more, dream two days from now.

7200, 120, 5. Wait for my return with blood on your bodies. Hehe.

All stirred, seeing scary images flash in their heads. An image of the dragon's eye appeared. Someone laughing in the distance.

Natsu warily walked in the guild, bags under his eyes. Happy couldn't even fly and was on Natsu's head. He greeted all of the other sleepy members of the team.

"Morning." they said bluntly.

"Didn't get enough sleep too?" asked Wendy.

"No." said Natsu.

" We got it. That thing or whatever last night." said Erza. Master and Mira were sat at the table too and knew what happened. It was important that they know.

" We will know what she means if you guys, uh......dream on the said time." said Mira.

"Anyways, we should clear our minds before we freak out for the entire day. Where's the code?" asked Gray.Levy brought the paper when asked by Master and she sat down.

"I don't know why you're deciphering this code, but i'll try." she said. She didn't know what was going on so it was normal for her to be confused.

The paper had:

Monday will be 48. Tuesday will be 72. Think of 2 and add. Break everything down to get each number. Then the given date shall be shown.

"This is a really short code." said Master.

"Yes, it is. But I do languages, not stuff like riddles." sighed Levy. She was right, but we still asked her for help in any case.

"Okay, it says Monday is 48. Tuesday is 72. And 2 is to add. But why did it start from 48? And 72 and 48 look like they have the same----" said Erza.

"Factors! Each of them have the same factors! And it's a date right? This is easy! 24 is a factor of both, as well as the total hours in a day. So Sunday is 24, Monday is 48, and Tuesday is 72!" exclaimed Levy suddenly.

"Wow! So do we add everything and 2 or....?" Natsu asked.

"Well if we add everything and 2, it won't make sense. So 2 cannot be by itself, he's probably referring that 2 is twice of something." pondered Levy.

"What if.....what if.......what if 2 is two more? So it would be 24 and 24 and not 2 alone." said Charle.

"Ahhhhh you're making it hard for the readers." Natsu complained.

"She's right. So 72 plus 24 is 96 and this plus 24 is about............120!" exclaimed Mira.

"And 120 is a multiple of 24!" said Levy, "It can be divided by 24 five times which is about 5 days and 120 is equal to 7200 minutes. So 7200 minutes, 24 hours and 5 days till whatever comes."

Everyone gasped, only those who had the dream of course. They had all remembered those numbers, there were in the dream!

"Thank you Levy, Bye!" said Master as he pushed Levy away as he saw how faced. That was fast.

"What?" he asked us.

"In the thing last night, it had '7200, 120, 5. Wait for my return. Hehe.' That is strange." said Gray.

"So she basically gave us the numbers?" asked Mira.  It seemed so. Wait for my return.

"Wait a minute, she?" asked Natsu.

"It probably refers to Lucy's past self." said Happy.

Everyone nodded.

NATSU'S POV

I sat down thinking hard. So we had 5 days, not starting today, left until something happens to Lucy. I'm scared. Ryuk said she wouldn't die, but still! I am worried. Tomorrow would begin, but would Lucy....act different?

I hope not, though. She better be the same.

Right now, she is watching television and eating in the infirmary. I sighed heavily. Things aren't just going to way I wanted to.

"Hey guys, what do we do now?" I asked.

"I don't know, man." said Gray. We heard a door close and we turned around to see Lucy walking up to us.

"Hey Lucy! We were just talking, what do you think we should do now?" asked Erza.

"Job." she said plainly. Erza and the others nodded agreeing with the idea, but I wasn't. My body tensed up and my jaw clenched. Job? Hell no.

I was angry, but I didn't want to show it.

"Natsu? What do you think?" asked Charle.

"No." I said plainly, trying to keep my cool. Everyone else seemed shocked about it.

"Why." asked Lucy, although she didn't really ask seeing as how she just said the word.

"Lucy......the others will understand, but I need to explain it to you." I said, huffing. She nodded her head and I told her to go in the infirmary. As she left, I turned to the others.

"I am going to explain it to her, you get it, right?" I asked.

"I see, maybe you should relax." said Erza as I left.

I walked in seeing Lucy sat on the bed.

"Okay. We are NOT going on a job, not now, not until two months have passed." I stated, meaning every word.

"Why." she asked again.

"Look, the last time we went, you got hurt! It was because of me, because I could have saved you! I don't want that to happen again, ever!" I exclaimed suddenly. Lucy stared at me.

"But I should-" she said but I cut her off harshly.

"Don't you dare say that you will be able to do it, Lucy! In the condition that you are now, if you get hurt again, you'll die this time! I can't afford to keep losing you like this!" I shouted this time. Her face had a bit of shock.....and hurt.

"I'm sorry, don't shout ---" she started again.

"So what the hell am I supposed to do, whisper?! How do I whisper about something this big?! Listen to me, Lucy. I don't care what kind of job it is. YOU WILL NEVER GO ON ONE AS LONG AS I DON'T PERMIT. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!" I exclaimed.

"No I don't! I can try, if you stay with me---"

"Don't try it! Everything we do in this generation can lead to a death, and it can lead to yours! If you die because of me, I will never forgive myself. Don't be stubborn and forget about going on the job!"

"The point is to spend time with you guys! I barely know everyone and I have a feeling that you all were important!"

"Yeah, you have a feeling that they were important. Yet you can't have a feeling that expresses love to me?!"

"....Huh....?"

"You heard me. You just said that you have a feeling that we were all important. If you have time for that, then why can't you have time to think about us and how you had a big impact on our relationship! Love! It's that simple, damn it!" I exclaimed.

"I....."

"All you have to do is know how to love, but how for fuck's sake do you even know how to figure out that someone was important?! Huh? You are thinking about the others, but whenever I ask you about us, it is a different answer. All you say is ' I can't remember how it feels like', or ' I don't understand!" Why won't you say that to the others?! You are forgetting about US! Why the hell is that?! I am going to close this pointless conversation. All I am telling you is, spending time with us on a job is useless because you don't have any memories, or feelings!" I finally finished, my face red with anger and my chest rising up and down.

The poor girl was shaking like a leaf, and she brought her gaze to the ground.

"I....."

"Kiss me." I said roughly. She jerked her head back up at me in surprise.

"Huh?"

"I said, Kiss me. If you don't do it, then that proves that all I said was right." I said harshly. She hesitated but slowly brought her lips on mine. However, something wasn't right, because this kiss felt different that before. She pulled away.

"Well...?"

"It's different. Why?!"

"Because you're wrong!  I can't remember how it feels like, no matter how I try! Yet for some strange reason, I know for sure that you guys were important. Even if we get into a relationship 'again', it will only hurt you because......it hurts when you're in a relationship and the person you love wants to love you but can't." she said sadly, and shook her head.

Wait, what? Hold it right there.

Why did I lose my temper like that? I shouldn't have. She's still fragile,  and I'd only hurt her more.

"You mean...........I said all those-----Lucy forgive me please!" I said angrily at myself. I went on my knees in front of her. I could feel her gaze on me in shock.

"I--"

"I AM SO SORRY!! I WS TOO ANGRY, TO POSSESIVE!" I exclaimed, as I gripped my hair. To tell you the truth, I was a real mood-changer, because I went from happy in the beginning, to angry and then regret.

Why?!

"But you---"

"PLEASE LUCY! I AM BEGGING YOU!" I said again, anime tears rushing down my face.

"If you say that you are sorry and you want to be forgiven one more time, I will ignore you forever." she said. I jerked my head to her, my eyes as small as possible.

"Eh...?"

"Well, will you shut up?" she asked with a serious face.

"Okay...."

"Good. I do forgive you. You made me scared and I wanted to do suicide right there, but then.....I can't hate you, because I have a feeling that you are more than special to me." she  said.

Feeling. She said feeling. I am more than special!

"Lucy...." I whimpered. She didn't smile though, she only huffed and looked at me with forever lonely and sad eyes. We all decided that whenever Lucy gave us the poker face and silence, we would accept it as a smile.

"Still here." she said and got up, "Will you still allow us to go on a job, please?"

"I am sorry Lucy. No...."

Her heartbroken face was all I saw.
