Next Chapter: A day before, pain is pleasure to a masochist only.

NATSU'S POV

I peeled my eyelids of my eyeballs, as I heard plenty shifting around me. What time is it? And I am so tired.

"Is it morning...?" I yawned widely. Erza, Gray and Wendy came around me and sweat-dropped.

"Of course it is!" exclaimed Gray.

"Do ya want to know the time too?" guessed Erza.

"Yeah no problem." I replied.

"Twelve." said Wendy. I jumped up quickly and stared at them.

"Did Poluchka--"

"Yes, she's still with Lucy. She's been here since 8 this morning, and things............she's taking a hard time because Lucy's gotten worse." explained Wendy. Those guys guessed my sentence.

"Oh." was all I said. I relaxed into my chair and sighed. This is getting bad. She's not too well, and even Poluchka's having a hard time! This is too frustrating. A creaking sound was heard and Master's voice echoed.

"Poluchka!" he said.

"I'm finally done.....for now. She's not doing so well. Her chest and head is hurting, and she's coughing up blood. She is too weak, and feeble." said Poluchka. In my mind, I could see everything collapsing. Take for example.....the future.

I wish I could be with Lucy.

"So is she stable...for now?" I asked.

"For now. There are two packets of medications for her to take. Plus, she had two different ones earlier. That is quite a lot of medication." said Poluchka.

"God........." I sighed, as I rubbed my temples. Poluchka and Gramps went to talk outside, and my team and I decided to go and see Lucy.

We gently knocked on the door, in case she was asleep. We heard a weak 'yeah'. That was our queue to walk in.

"How're you feeling?" asked Gray.

"Dog poop." she replied, while pouting. Everyone had no choice but to laugh at her statement. So innocent minded.

"I see, did you take your medications already?" asked Erza.

"Yeah. Too much." sighed Lucy. Everyone chatted with her for awhile, until she started coughing---again. I ran to get her tablets and gave them to her quickly.

"I guess you should get some sleep." said Wendy. Everyone said their good byes, and left. It was only one, so i went outside with them.

"Hey guys! Maybe you should take a job to ease your minds a bit. And isn't Lucy's rent due anytime soon?" offered Mira.

"Oh yeah!  Great idea Mira! At least we're helping her!" smiled Erza. I felt uneasy about going on a job. Was i scared? Was i angry? Or was it regret?

"Natsu...san?" asked Wendy. I shook my head back to reality.

"It looks like you have a phobia." said Erza.

"I will just feel regret........" i sighed. Everyone coaxed me into going, and Happy said that Lucy'll feel happy if i do go.

"Well......if you put it that way........" i said scratching my head.

"Great!"

Before we embarked on our job, I ran into Lucy's room. She looked surprise as she looked up from her book. Oops, think I disturbed her there.

"Lucy, do you mind if we go on a job? We're going to do it to pay your rent." I explained.

"Rent? Thank you. And it's okay, I'm keeping you back." she said while sighing. I sat next to her on the bed and brought my head close to her ears.

"You will never keep me back, because you're the only one making me move forward." I whispered into her ear. I got up and saw her blushing face, before I left the room.

"Hey! Where did you go?" asked Happy.

"I went to tell Lucy that we are going on a trip." I replied.

"You swear you're already married." muttered Wendy. We left for the job, and we were all excited because this would be our first job in awhile. Only, without Lucy. Don't worry, as soon as all this shit is sorted out, and she regains her memories, if possible, we'll go on as many jobs as possible!! 

We all walked on the streets of Magnolia, the same street as Lucy's apartment. We were heading back from our job, and it was successful. We put aside the money for Lucy and had enough for ourselves as well.

"Hey! Isn't that Lucy's landlady?" asked Charle. Indeed, she was right. Lucy's landlady was about to make her way into the building, and we were guessing it was for the rent money since it is the end of the month.....and the fact that she DOES have three months rent left to collect.

"Oi! Old lady!" I called out. She turned around.

"Great manners there flamebrain..." muttered Gray.

"Hi. We're friends of Lucy and came to pay you her rent." said Erza.

"Oh! I was just about to go for it! Thank you. But, where is Lucy? I haven't seen her for an entire 3 and a half months, and it's already May!" she exclaimed.

"Well, you see, Lucy was asleep for three months, and when she awoke, she was different. To add to those worries, she later lost her memories which was the only thing genuine about her. So now, she is extremely sick until tomorrow." explained Gray. By tomorrow, he referred to the days ending....er, tomorrow.

"Oh dear! You are nice people, because you even paid for four months! I was beginning to get upset but I thought something was wrong....but I left it at that." she said.

We said our good byes, and the whole lot of us walked back to the guild. When we entered, we heard crying and saw Poluchka pushing people out of her way  as she raced to Lucy's room.

"It's a wonder how she doesn't run for Japan in the Olympics." I muttered, surprised at her agility and speed.

"Looks like Lucy is having another searing pain." said Happy.

"Poor Lucy-nee." said Wendy. I sighed, as I left the others inside and went outside. I walked to the park and sat down, trying to relax. I breathed in slowly, and even counted to 5, because ten is too high.

"Lucy.....I miss you so damn much." I said, as I placed my face in my hands. Next thing I know, I was crying. I was crying about Lucy, and everything else. I long for her. I want her joyful self to return, and I want to be with her everyday and knowing that she is not sick.

My heart would only ache every time I think about it. Why does life have to be so hard? It's not like I ordered it anyways............

HAPPY'S POV

Poor Natsu. He must be having it hard. I mean, I would if Charle was to get sick and lose her memories. Think about it. If your girlfriend, or boyfriend just lost their memories and would probably be on their deathbed everyday, how would you feel?

AND the fact that you could have prevented the amnesia?

Sadness?

Regret?

Loneliness?

Natsu must be having a mixture of emotions right now. I wish I could help him by taking his pain.

"Thinking about your partner?" asked Wendy.

"You have no idea." I muttered.

"We're all worried about it him. I won't be surprised if he doesn't want to eat or anything." said Gray. He was right, and I stiffened. Will Natsu turn out like that? Will he do bad things to himself because he is so scared of it all?

No, I doubt Natsu would ever do such a reckless thing, but.......he might do something.

"I bet he's going to sleep with Lucy tonight. Especially because tonight is her last night before the day." smirked Erza. We all smirked as well, realizing that what she said was true. Hmmmm, Natsu, what will you do?

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Natsu walked into the guild with a tear stained face. His tummy growled as he slumped near the bar. Happy flew over and his tummy literally shook of hunger.

"Oh! Happy! Just in time, let's eat!" said Natsu, trying to be as normal as ever. But....his cat was smarter than that to know it was an illusion.

"Aye sir!" saluted Happy. He decided to play along and see what Natsu's actions will be.

"I know the drill!" sang Mira who walked by, and soon enough, Natsu and Happy were eating like there was no tomorrow.

Not too far away was the rest of the team having their usual conversation.

"He's trying to put up an act." said Gray.

"Don't worry. I bet when he's with Lucy, all his barriers go down and he'll be helpless." responded Charle.

"Happy seems to be going along with it all too!" exclaimed Wendy.

AT NIGHT, 6:00 P.M

Natsu warily stood up.

"Where ya off to?" asked Erza.

"I'm.......going to see Lucy." he replied, with a nervous face. He was trying to cover it up, embarrassed because he is so helpless right now. Of course, the rest of the team knew it all and decided to let him go.

 He walked calmly into Lucy's room, and smiled when he saw the blonde girl staring in awe at flowers floating in from the nearby tree. They were bright and colorful. One of them floated on her nose, and her eyes crossed as she stared at it.

"Having fun?" I laughed, as she turned around. She kept her eyes fixed on the petal on her nose, and she looked so silly. I smiled, and I kissed her nose causing the petal to stick on my lips.

"You kissed a flower." she said cutely. Boy, she was so adorable.

"How're ya feeling?" I asked her. She sighed.

"Unfortunately, not too well. I am feeling a lot of pain and I get scared sometimes." she said. I hugged her gently and I heard a yawning sound.

"Tired are we?" I asked her.

"Not yet, I was just bored." she replied.

"So if you're bored, what do you want to do?" I asked her.

"I always take a night shower before bed, it feels nice. So I'm going to do that now." she said. I nodded my head and she walked to the bathroom, with a change of clothes. However, five seconds after she entered, I had the urge to go inside.

I slowly got up, and pressed my ears on the door. I soon heard water running and I turned the knob slowly. I entered like a cat and saw her silhouette behind the shower curtains.

"Nobody can't blame me, I'm protecting her in case of an emergency." I whispered sneakily. The water turned off. I stood upright, and saw her hand push out of the shower curtain. It was looking for the towel, which lay on the sink top.

I took it and placed it on her hand, and a small 'thank you' came. Ahhhhh, did she really not notice anything?

"Wait." she said slowly, "Who really handed me that....?"

She whispered it softly, and her head quickly peeked through to find nobody there.

"Wha...? But I swear!" she exclaimed so adorably. I was hiding somewhere in the bathroom, where she couldn't see me of course. She wrapped the towel around her behind the curtain and came out. I decided to make my move and I came behind her.

She saw me from behind and jumped in surprise.

"You...! Where did you come from?" she asked in shock.

"I handed that towel to you. You should really pay attention to it all." I smirked. Her innocent eyes had a look of amusement, but note that I did NOT say that she smiled. Sad, isn't it?

"Go outside, I need to change." she said.

"With what clothes?" I asked her. She turned behind her and saw that her clothes were missing. I laughed as I ran through the door yanking the towel off her body. I closed the door and smirked as I slumped on the door.

I could literally hear her frustrated sigh behind the door.

I have her towel and her clothes, what CAN she do now?

"Natsu? Can you please give them to me?"  she asked through the door.

"Let me see......should I?" I thought out loud on purpose.

"Pleaseeeee?" she begged. I laughed as I pushed my hand through the now open door and gave her the clothes. I closed it tight and she came out soon with a fresh change of clothes.

"You're so naughty." she sighed.

"Haha, and you're too late." I teased. Now, I was sure that this time, she yawned for real, and her eyes looked droopy. I laughed and I led her to the bed.

"Bed? But I want to stay up." she said.

"Why?"

"Because I feel alone and you're here so i'm excited." she replied. My face sullied. She was bored and lonely, so when I came in here, she felt........happy? My heart melted.

"I'll sleep with you tonight. " I said. Her little face lit up with joy as she hastily crawled into the bed. My mouth formed an 'o' shape, as I realized how wrong the situation was looking to another's perspective.

ERZA'S POV

"Bed? But I want to stay up." said Lucy, as the rest of us stuck our ears to the door.

"I'll sleep with you tonight." replied Natsu. The door creaked open a little bit, and we saw Natsu leading Lucy to the bed. She jumped in and Natsu crawled in as well.

"That bastard is five hundred looks to early to be doing it with her!" complained Gray. Indeed, it did look like he was excited to...........do it. And Lucy looked so unaware.

"Beware that face, Lucy-san, because under that smile is something dangerous." whispered Wendy. Everyone turned to face her in shock. Did Wendy just really say that? Okay.......

NATSU'S POV

I led her to the bed and I crawled in, but she lay in the middle, so I had nowhere to lay down. I climbed on top of her.

"You left no space for me." I pouted.

"Sorrryyyyy." she said, as she tried scooting over, but when she did, she knocked my hand which was supporting my body up as I dropped on top of her, my hands reaching to her side.

ERZA'S POV

Everyone had a look of shock on their face when Natsu crawled on TOP of Lucy, AND DROPPED ONTO HER. His hands magically found their way to her side, and I could literally feel the steam from Gray who was beside me.

Poor chap.

"Maybe we should leave them." I said, as Wendy, the cats and I dragged Gray away.

NATSU'S POV

"Ahhhh, sorry. Here." I said, as I got off and lay next to Lucy.

"Good night, Natsu." she whispered wearily.

"Sweet dreams." I replied.

Next Chapter: To do is not what to do; the last day.

Summary: Today is the last day, and Natsu wakes up realizing this. After going outside to answer some very weird questions from the team, they realize that they must do what dream Lucy said to do, and dread the time to come.

What will happen? Did Ryuk lie about Lucy not dying? Or will Lucy disappear? Or read to find out!!
