My hands hurt me because i've been editing a lot of chapters, so you guys better be grateful for this chapter! *glares* Okay okay i'm just joking.

Chapter 6: Feelings are like a disease.

LUCY'S POV

The next morning, the first thing i did when i woke up was to check my room. Natsu slept soundly beside me......

.......Natsu slept..soundly beside me?

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE?!" I yelled, kicking him into the wall. He woke up immediately like i just electrocuted his entire body.

"Sorry Luce! But when i came here late last night, i was tired so the bed was closer. Happy is on the chair though." he excused, adorably rubbing the back of his head. I sighed.

Natsu, Happy and i walked to the guild, and when we entered i went straight for the request board. Natsu was taken up with Mira, for some strange reason. Happy floated above me. I picked out a job i knew would be nice, and went towards Natsu.

NATSU'S POV

"What do you want this time?" i grumbled, glaring at Mira. She laughed.

"I think you know what." she said sneakily. Before i had a chance to answer, Lucy called my name as she ran up to me.

"Natsu!" she said, and when she came up, she had a paper in her hand. A job?

"What's up?" i asked.

"Me!" laughed Happy, and i glared at him. What's with him and his fishy jokes? But it was funny though, seeing as how he was flying over Lucy's head.

"Here! Let's do this job together!" she smiled. My face heated up at the thought of me and Lucy together....alone....on a job. What the hell?! Why am i acting like some high school girl!?

This is quite embarrassing. I tried not to act stupid and smiled.

"Sure, why not? What's it about?" I asked. Her eyes lit up with excitement when i said that.

"We're going to be a maid and butler today!" she squealed. The fuck. DID SHE SAY MAID AND BUTLER?! My face screwed up, and i could hear Mira laugh behind me.

"W-What are we----?"

"There is a new maid and butler restaurant, but their employees were sick so they're asking us to fill in." she explained, "The pay is 150,000 J, because it is a high class chain of restaurants."

"It doesn't matter! I am not going to dress as a butler!" i said, standing my ground. But wait, if we have to dress then Lucy will be in a maid outfit.

"On second thought, let's go." i said quickly. Lucy clapped her hands before handing Mira the paper. Happy snickered at my sudden outburst and then giving in, but i couldn't care less! Mira laughed and waved us as we left the guild.

"Okay, meet me right here, at the train station in half an hour's time." informed Lucy, before leaving Happy and myself at the train station. The two us walked home and packed our bags. On our way back, Happy started to giggle.

"What's with you?" i asked.

"You were so against the job, what made you change your mind?" he asked. The smile on his lips made me know that he knew all too well why i said to accept the job.

"Lucy will be in a maid outfit." i mumbled.

"But it will be at a restaurant, right? Won't other guys see her?" he asked. I stopped walking to focus on my thoughts. He was right. But...i shouldn't have a problem, right? I mean, i'm not even sure i like her anyhow.

When we arrived at the train station, Lucy was already there. Thanks to Mira putting the stupid idea in my head about liking Lucy, i tend to feel a bit awkward.

"The train's already here." she said, glancing at the big train in front of her.

"I didn't know we had to take a train." i whined.

"But isn't it obvious?! I said to meet at the train station." she replied. I pouted before boarding the hell of a train ride. As soon as i got on, my head began to get dizzy.

"It's hasn't even started yet." sweat-dropped Happy.

I was placed into a deep sleep when Lucy began to caress my hair. It relaxed me alot, it even made me dream!

"Are you sure you don't like her?" asked Mira.

"I'm positive....well....not really." i replied. Lucy ran up to me and hugged me straight out. I was shocked and caught by surprise.

"Natsu! Some guy said he liked me and i feel weird because i like someone else." she said. I patted her head, although jealousy raged in me.

"Oh, someone else? Who?"

"You!"

I jumped up. I think i hit something with my head because i saw Lucy cracking her knuckles, and a bump beginning to form on her forehead.

"Luce i'm sorry! I just had a dream." i explained, before realising that i was already out of the train. Happy dragged our stuff for us.

"What was it about?" she asked, dismissing the hit i gave her on the head. I didn't want to tell her, it sounds weird actually. Why would i want to dream something like that? God damn it, Mira. It's your fault!

"I don't....it's really..."

"It's okay. But you know, i still have to get my revenge." she said calmly, before her fist connected with my face. SO SHE STILL HATED ME FOR HITTING HER EARLIER?! Lucy smiled in accomplishment, before she began  walking in the direction i believe to be the restaurant.

When we stood in front the door, Lucy entered first.

"Can i help you?" asked a middle-aged man, "We're not open yet, i'm afraid."

"We're Fairy Tail wizards, we were asked to do a job here." said Lucy.

"Oh, my apologies! I'm so glad you're here. These are the outfits. That cat you have...err....can be a butler too." smiled the man, before handing us a few neatly folded uniforms.

We were escorted to dressing rooms. This thing was annoying to put on! When i was done struggling with my life hanging by a string, i emerged from the room to find Happy already in his suit. I bet even Charle would be proud. Not.

"This is quite easy to put on!" said an excited voice, and i turned around to see Lucy come out. The uniform fitted every single one of her curves, and it was tight against her. But she still looked good.

"Is it easy to take off?" i said without knowing. Her shocked face met mine before i realised what i said.

"Sorry i didn't mean that! Luce, it just came out honestly. I meant to say you look good." i stumbled. She laughed. I felt a small nudge on my shoulder to see Happy floating eye-level with me.

"You sounded like a pervert." he said in my ear. I glared at him. It's not my fault i said that!

"Okay, so you guys have to treat your customers like you are really their maid and butler. Okay?" said the man, before he opened the restaurant.

Soon after, it was casually bringing in business. As i tried my hardest not to eat the food because Lucy will hit me, i glanced at Happy to see him doing good. I looked at Lucy, and i was smiling at how happy she seemed.

This is how it is supposed to be. Not to have some guy after her.

"But i'm hungry! Let's go." said a voice. My dragon hearing picked up the familiar voice and i grimaced at who entered the restaurant.

Sting and Rogue sat down at a table, and Lucy had no choice but to serve them.

"Good morning, my masters. I am at your service today." she said, bowing her head. I could see the blonde boy's eyes look at Lucy.

"L-Lucy? Y-You're here on a job?" he asked. She nodded her head. I had my eyes stuck to Rogue. Ever since he told me about Lucy, i watched him carefully.

"What will you like today?" she asked, handing the two a menu. They soon came up with their answer before Lucy disappeared to get their order. She returned a moment later, handing them their dishes.

Before she went to look after another customer, Sting held her hand.

"You'll come back, right?" he asked.

"Anything for my master." replied Lucy, as she went. Rogue's eyes trailed after her, and he narrowed his eyes at Sting.

I paid attention to my customer now, realising that i was looking at them for too long. That blonde idiot better not be after my Lucy.

My? Did i say 'my'? That was a slip of the tongue i guess.....thanks to Mira...that is.

"What can i help you with, mistress?" I asked the old hag. She smiled up at me before checking the menu. While she was busy, my eyes were glued to Lucy behind her.

"Are you jealous?" Asked the old woman. I scrunched up my eyebrows in confusion.

"Huh?"

"Jealous, you know, of that boy over there? Because he is looking at your girlfriend, right?" She asked. She was talking about Sting.

"I have the least idea of what jealousy is about, but i can tell you one thing. I do not like the fact the every other guy is looking at her." I mumbled.

Throughout the entire day, Lucy had kept a smile on her face. Sting and Rouge left not too long ago. I am sure that Blondie would have stayed if Rogue hadn't dragged him.

"Today was really tiring." Whined Lucy, as she switched the open sign to close. The boss had a function and left us the responsibilty of closing up and the reward was on the table. This guy really trusts us...idiot.

Lucy untied the bow behind her back and loosened up her dress. My shirt was unbuttoned. Happy was...well....who knows where. Probably eating out the stock of fish.

"Let's close up." Said Lucy, as she brought the shutters down on the window. The little sunlight that was outside at the hour of 6:30 in the night disappeared...leaving the two of us minus Happy in darkness.

Of course, we could still see each other. Lucy walked away to go change.

Happy was back with us as the entire team left the restaurant. I still wasn't happy. I mean, i had to dress in a damn suit and Lucy was being with Sting.

Stupid love rival. Speaking of that, i sounded like Juvia.

"Are you okay?" asked a concerned voice, as Lucy glanced at me.

"Hmm? Oh yeah everything is fine." I said.

"Nat-zu, i am going ahead to see Charle!" exclaimed Happy before flying off. Now it is just the two us.

"You don't look happy." said Lucy.

"That's because i was in a suit for the entire day." I retorted.

"Really? Normally you wouldn't mind later on." She said, walking on the ledge near her river. I raised an eyebrow. Where's the boat that always warns her about falling in? I swear, the one time i want to hear them they are not there.

"Aren't you afraid of falling in again?"

"No, because you're with me this time." She said trustingly. I sighed. What's with people and trust these days? Am i like, some kinda Superman or something?

"Do you trust me?"

The question obviously caught Lucy by surprise. She stopped walking at looked at me.

"Of course!"

I stepped forward and gently poked her body. The little touch caused her body to tilt back. Her eyes widened as she was close to coming into contact with the water.

Before she did, i grabbed her hand. I wouldn't let her fall. I never will.

"Do you still trust me?"

She didn't hesitate, not even a split second did she think of what to say. Her eyes showed no fear, but only confidence. She stood her ground and smiled.

"Of course!"

"Why didn't you say no?"

"Because....i know you. No matter what stupid things you do sometimes, you will never hurt me intentionally. And even if you did, there's a reason, right?" she explained. My heart swelled with joy.

"I am happy now. Mainly because i have someone relying on me, which gives me the courage to get up and fight."

She trusts me. To protect her. To never hurt her. To be there for her.

I will make her happy, even if someone is after her life, i will make sure Lucy is safe in my arms.

CHAPTER 7: He strikes again! Natsu in favor?

PREVIEW: The mysterious attacker strikes again! What will he do this time? He did it so smoothly, even Natsu didn't know he was nearby. But what will this attacker do? And why is Natsu liking what this guy did to Lucy...and does Natsu realise he likes it?
