"The big day is finally here, folks! The Grand Magic games will be getting underway shortly! This is going to be a year to remember!" The announcer said. "Wow, would you listen to that crowd." Erza said. "I didn't think there'd be so many people watching." Lucy said. "The city is full of wizards from all over the country. Of course folks want to see them in action." Gray said. "Purple is so lame." Natsu said, looking at his outfit. "l'd rather wear my regular clothes instead of this crap." He said. "Purple or not, you'll just have to deal. Unless you want to tell Master why you think the clothes he picked are so 'lame'?" You said. "You won't hear me complaining I think they're adorable." Erza said. "And comfy. Skin tight." Gray said. "It's not skin tight; you're half naked!" Lucy shouted. "Uhh.... I don't really care about the color. But I doubt I can squeeze into this thing." Elfman said as he held Wendy's. Natsu pointed and laughed at him. "Oh man, that's perfect!" He said. "Well, you could use it as a sock, I guess." You said. "Did you spend those three months bench-pressing a mountain range?" Gray asked. Elfman frowned. "She's the one who should be standing here with the rest of you, not me. Do you think she'll be all right?" He asked.

Flashback

"You found them?" You asked as you all came in. You gasped as you saw Wendy and Carla in bed. "Wendy!" You said as you ran to her. "Where the heck were they?" Natsu asked. "Lisanna and I found them in the palace's gardens." Happy said. Wendy's eyes moved. "You with us?" Natsu asked. Her eyes then opened and she looked at you. "(Y/n)." She said. "What happened out there?" You asked. "It's all just a big blur. Sorry. I wish that I could remember." She said. She grunted in pain. "What's wrong?" You asked. "She appears to have magic deficiency syndrome." Porlyusica said. "Porlyusica!" Lucy said "Wait, what are you doing here?" Lisanna asked. "Something wrong with cheering you on?" She replied. "No, ma'am!" Lisanna said. "Calm down, I wasn't scolding you, child. Don't be so nervous, I'm not going to eat you." Porlyusica said. "Right." Lisanna said. "I'm here because I was concerned. I heard what happened and thought I might be of help. Now." She said as she put her hand on Wendy's forehead. "A moment ago you mentioned, "magic deficiency syndrome." Erza said. "Yes. It's a condition of weakened physical strength brought on by an acute case of magic depletion. They've both had nearly all of their magic power sucked out. Don't worry; they'll fully recover with enough bed rest." She said. "Who did this to you?" You asked. "It's still a big blur for the most part. But, I remember seeing a weird, black animal." Wendy gasped as she remembered, then covered herself with her covers and cried.  "Wendy." You said. "I'm sorry. I let you down. I trained so hard to help you but now. I'm just useless!" She cried. "Hey, Elfman." She said. "Please take my place. Win for me." She said. He gasped. "Sure! You can count on me, kid." He said. "All right. Everybody needs to leave. They can't heal if they don't get proper rest." Porlyusica said. "Let's go. There's nothing we can do here. We might as well try to focus on the Grand Magic Games." Erza said. "You're right. That's the only way we're gonna become number one again." Happy said.

Time Skip

"The person who attacked Wendy, do you think they're taking part in the games as well?" Natsu asked. "I'd say there's a big possibility." You said. "You gotta wonder too, if they did it to weaken our team, or for some other reason." Gray said. "Keep your eyes on the prize for now." Elfman said. "Winning this thing is the best way to get revenge for Wendy." He said. "We're just moments away from the start of the Grand Magic Games, folks! I'm lead commentator. Chapati Lola, and I'll be handling the play-by-play while former Council member Yajima provides commentary! Mr. Yajima. Glad to have you with us sir." Lola said. "Glad to be here." He replied. "And let's not forget our special guest A member of Blue Pegasus and current holder of the title "Miss Fiore"'; the ravishing Jenny Realite!" Lola said. "Blue Pegasus is bringing home the gold this year!" She said. "Ready? Let's go." You said. You and your team then began walking out. "Now, the time has come to meet our competitors! First up, in eighth place: an old school bunch of wild wizards from Magnolia! They had luck in the prelims, and now they're raring to take back first place by force! It's Fairy Tail!" Lola said as Natsu put his fist up. The crowd began booing. "What the hell?" Natsu asked. "I didn't see that comin'" Gray said. "I wanna go home now." Lucy said. "Who would've thought they'd make it this far after losing every year? Securing a spot in the prelims was no small feat for them. Will the Tenrou Team's sensational return help Fairy Tail become Fore's greatest guild?" Lola asked. "Aw." Lucy said. "Don't let it get to you." You said. "I'm proud of them. Way to go, kiddos! Now get out there and show 'em what you can do." Yajima said. "Cheer 'til you bust a lung! Hooray! Hooray! Fairy Tail's number one!" Makarov said. "The cheers of our comrades are all the support we need." You said.  Lucy nodded in agreement. "Fairy Tail's number one!" Makarov shouted. Gray gasped. "Hey, do you see that?" Natsu asked. "Look!" Lucy said. "I see it!" Erza said. "No way." You said in disbelief. "Hooray! Hooray! Fairy Tail is number one! Woo hoo!" Mavis shouted. Everyone from the guild stared at her dumbfounded. "Master Mavis, What in the world are you doing here?" Makarov asked. "What else? I came to cheer you on, silly!" She said. "Yes, I can see that, but aren't you, you know, dead?" Makarov asked. "There's no way I was going to miss this! You don't need to worry. Only those who bear our guild's emblem can see me." She said. "Yeah, well, that's not really what I was concerned about." Makarov said. "I'm sorry. I couldn' help myself. It's so dull being stuck on Tenrou Island!" She replied. Natsu laughed. "Even Master Mavis came out to cheer for us?" He asked. "We've got this in the bag." He said. "At least the ghost likes us." Gray said. You smacked him. "Ow! What the heck was that for?" He asked. "Don't be like that Gray, show some respect! She's our guild's first master!" You said. "Sorry. Sorry." Gray said. "Next up, the team that came in seventh place in the pre-lims. The rowdy army of hellhounds. Quatro Cerberus!" Lola said. "Let's get wild, ya with me?" One of their members said as the guild walked out. "I expect a win this year, fellas. Don't disappoint me." Goldmine said. "And coming in sixth is a guild filled to the brim with the fairer sex! The dancers of the great, blue sea. Mermaid Heel!" Lola said as the guild of females walked in. "I didn't know there was a guild full of ladies!" Happy said. "In fifth place! With azure wings that glimmer in the darkness. It's Blue Pegasus!" Lola said. "Hey guys! Do your best!" Jenny said.

"Next, in fourth place! The goddess of love and strife! The sacred destroyer! Lamia Scale!" Lola said. "Why'd you only come in fourth place, huh? I thought I told you kids not to hold back!" Their master said. "Yeah, sorry about that, old hag." Sherria said.  "I wasn't watching where I was going." She said. She then tripped and fell. "I've never seen her before." Natsu said. "She looks like a smaller version of that girl Sherry." Gray said. "She's her cousin." You informed. "Please try to stay on your feet." Lyon said. "No promises, Lyon." She replied. She then stood up and smiled, then ran over to you. "Hey, you're (Y/n), right?" She asked. "Uh, yeah." You sweat dropped. She looked excited. "I'm Sherria! It's an honor to meet you! I'm a sky god slayer! I head that you use sky magic too, am I right?" She asked hopefully. You smiled and nodded. "Yeah. I do. Multiple forms of it too." You said. She smiled. "That's so cool! We should totally be friends!" She said. "See you later, (Y/n)!" She said before running back to her team. You smiled at her. "Don't forget our agreement, Gray." Lyon said. "Hmm?" Gray asked. "If we win, (Y/n) becomes a member of Lamia Scale."  Lyon said. "What?!" Natsu asked furiously. "Wait, say what?!" You asked angrily. Gray smirked. "Last time I checked I never agreed to that bet. Not that it matters, cause you guys're gonna lose." Gray declared. "Then, if we win, I'll take Miss (Y/n) as my one and only." Ichiya said. "You'll do no such thing, you troll!" Erza said protectively. He began to sniff you. "Your parfum is like candy to my nostrils." He said. "And I'l take you, I guess." Ren said to Lucy. "Not that I'm into you or anything like that." He lied. "Thank you, Ren. It's good to know that some things never change." Lucy said. "Then I'll take Wendy!" Eve said. He looked at Elfman. "Um, whoa, you really sprouted, didn't you?" He asked. "That's cool, I'm into thick chicks." He said. "Laugh it up." Elfman said. "Hey boss! If we lose, I wanna be given to this guild!" Hibiki said pointing to Mermaid Heel. "Man, I was gonna call dibs!" Toby shouted. "Have you ever seen any of those Cerberus guys before?" Lucy asked. "Get wild! Get wild!" The guild shouted. "Who's the fur? Some dude?" Elfman asked, referring to the bud bunny. "Now to introduce our third place contestants! What a shocker! Swooping in from a midnight dreary, this dark and gloomy bunch are making their debut in this year's games. Give it up for Raven Tail!" Lola said. "What?!" You asked furiously. "What the heck are they doin' here?" Natsu asked. "This is bad." Erza said. "Their leader is Master Makarov's son, Ivan. " Erza said. "But that means they're—" Lucy said. Makarov growled. "Why is a dark guild participating?" He asked. "Have you officials lost your minds or were you just incompetent to begin with?" Makarov shouted. Macao grabbed him. "You're making a scene. Master." He scolded. "He's gonna bust a vessel!" Lisanna said. "I'm sensing intense malice from them." Mavis said. "Isn't Raven Tail a dark guild?" Someone asked. "I dunno, I've never heard of 'em before today." A girl replied. "Well. Their records appear to be in order. They're an old guild. Official sources state they've been active over seven years, but they were only recently approved for official guild status by the Magic Council." Lola said. "Hmm. If they have official status then they're technically not a dark guild and are, therefore, eligible to compete." Yajima said. "Curse you, Ivan! I don't know how you did it, but whatever you're planning, I swear I'll stop you." Makarov declared. "You really shouldn't get so worked up old man it's bad for your health. I want you to live to see your guild fall." Ivan said. "Fairy Tail. I trust your friend is recovering?" One of them asked. His monkey turned into Wendy and fell over. You looked at them furiously. "You were the ones who attacked Wendy? I'm gonna make you regret it!" You growled. "The festival's just getting started. Makarov growled. "Ivan!" "Hold on! We've still got two teams who made it through the qualifying round!" Lola said. "Oh yeah! I wonder which of the other teams made it through." Happy said.

"You can bet on one of 'em bein' Sabertooth." Macao said. "As for the other one." He said. "Huh. All the well-known guilds have already been announced." Lisanna said. "So it's possible one of these teams is somehow tied to Zeref." Gray said. "That's assuming Jellal's intuition was right. I guess we'li know soon." Erza said. "Our first place runner up is... oh wow! What a surprise! This year's competition just got a whole lot more interesting, folks!" You gasped. "It's Fairy Tail Team B!" Lola said. "Big sis?" Elfman asked. "Gajeel?" You asked. "Juvia?" Gray asked. "And L'axus? How is that fair?" Lucy complained. "You've got (Y/n) on your team so I wouldn't be complaining if I were you." Laxus said. "Hmm. I certainly didn't expect them to have two teams." Ichiya said. "Hold up! I need some answers! Someone explain how Mystogan's even here!" Natsu said pointing. "It can't be. Jellal? Is that you in there?" Erza asked. "Shhh...." He said as he held up a finger. "You kidding me?" Gray and Natsu asked. "Of course they got two teams in. I wouldn't expect anything less." Hibiki said. "Laxus and Gajeel are joining the party." "How come they have two teams?" Rocker asked. "They giving Fairy Tail a handicap"cause they suck so hard? That's way past wild, man." He said. "You know, think the newly implemented rules may have left our audience a bit perplexed, Mr. Yajima." Lola said. "Care to explain?" He asked. "Sure thing. The committee in charge of the Grand Magic Games permitted each guild to enter two teams, which they felt would make the preliminaries more exciting." He replied. "Why didn't you tell us this was your plan, Master?" You asked. Makarov laughed. "You like that? This is how the Fairy Tail guild takes care of business, baby!" He said.  "I'm not sure the committee really thought this new rule through. I mean, this is a team-based competition." Lola said. "Won't having two teams from the same guild kind of stack the odds?" He asked. "Hmm. You worry too much; to be honest, I don't think it'll be a problem." Yajima said. "Well, it's totally unfair if you ask me. Let's say there's an event where each team chooses a member to compete against the others in a battle royale. There's nothing to stop the Fairy Tail members from teaming up with each other." Jenny pointed out. "It does give them an advantage. But I guess that's their reward for being the only guild out of over one hundred with two teams in the games." Lola said.  Yajima chuckled. "You certainly have the upper hand. Way to go, Mocky!" He cheered. "Mocky?" Lola asked. Makarov laughed. "I see. That's why so many teams entered the tournament!" Lucy said. "This is a big loada crap!" Natsu sapped. "Being in the same guild don't mean jack; if I fight against any of you I'm not pulling any punches! As long as we're in this tournament you're my enemies, and I ain't gonna lose to any of you!" Natsu shouted. "I wouldn't have it any other way. I'm lookin' forward to makin you eat dirt, Salamander." Gajeel said. Natsu growled. "Gajeel's a lot stronger than he was three months ago." Lily bragged. "Well, Natsu's no creampuff either!" Happy said. "Team B has got some serious power; it won't be easy to take them down!" Romeo said. "What's the matter? You look terrified!" Mira said. "That's 'cause I am!" Elfman said. "So. What are you doing here? This is wrong." Erza asked. "Your master is a very understanding person. Once I explained the situation, he gave my plan his blessing." Jellal said. "You said it was impossible to get near the coliseum." Erza said. "It was. Until this opportunity presented itself." He said. "It's against the rules. You're not an official member of Fairy Tail." Erza said. "As I understand it, Mystogan and I are essentially one and the same." Jellal said. Laxus put an arm around him. "Don't be so uptight. This is a festival. We're all friends here. Right? Kiss and make up." Laxus said. "It'll be fine. Trust me." Jellal said.

"By the way, "Mystogan" You're not usually this much of a chatty Kathy. Keep it in mind." Laxus said. "Understood." He replied. "The hooded man down there. He doesn't seem to be a member of our guild." Mavis said. Makarov gasped. "I'm so sorry! I had to! Please forgive me!" He begged. "I said it was a bad idea from the start." Macao said. "Don't think we didn't try to stop him!" Wakaba said. "I don't sense any malevolence coming from him. In fact, he seems to possess the same heart as those bearing our guild's emblem." Mavis said. "It'd take way too long to explain, but I guess you could say he's technically a member of Fairy Tail." Happy said. "I get it. He's Earth Land' version of Prince Jellal." Lily said. "I thought he seemed familiar." He said. "Is he strong?" Mavis asked. "Oh yes! For sure! It wasn't that long ago that he was one of the ten Wizard Saints!" Makarov said. "Then he can stay. With him on our team we're sure to be number one!" Mavis said. "Course she's fine with it." Droy said. "Who cares about rules when there's a tournament to win, right?" Jet asked sarcastically. "We should make that part of the charter at this point." Levy said. "So, have you managed to find anything yet?" Jellal asked Erza. "I'm suspicious of Raven Tail but beyond that I have nothing solid." She said. "This is their debut in the games. We've sensed the power in previous years so it can't be them." Jellal said. "What about you? Any sign of this "strange power?" Erza asked. "No, not yet." He replied. "Even Gajeel came to play." Ivan said. "And last, but certainly not least, is the team that came in first place in the preliminaries!" Lola said. Everyone cheered. "That's right! You know them! You love them! Now, get on your feet and scream for the most powerful guild in all of Fiore! The one and only Sabertooth!" Lola said. You watched as the guild came in. "Can't wait to bring them down." Natsu said. "Why so serious? It's just a game." Sting mocked. "There a reason you keep gawkin', pretty boy?" Gajeel snapped. "Nothing important." Rouge said. "At least we finally know who our biggest competition is." Gray said. "You're the man, Sting! The best in the whole wide world!" Lector cheered. "I'm cheering for you, too! Isn't that great?" Frosh asked. "It appears that Sabertooth has an Exceed cheer squad!" Lily said. "Natsu, Natsu, he's our man! Burnin' butts across the land!" Happy hollered. "All in all. I'd say we have an impressive group of wizards here!" Lola said. "Any comments on our lineup, Mr. Yajima?" He asked. "Yeah. Mermaid Heel makes me pine for my youth." He said. "Um, that's not quite what I meant." Lola said. "Huh?" Yajima asked. "We've kept everyone waiting long enough! It's about time we unveil the official schedule for this year's tournament!" Lola said. Suddenly a big board appears from under the ground. "There's gonna be a lot of action in the next few days." Gray said. "Now we're talkin'!" Natsu said. "Each one of the rounds will begin with a contest! Participants will then be ranked from first to eighth place! The teams will be awarded points depending on how they ranked in the contest. Additionally, the teams are allowed to select which of their members they want to compete. After that, we have battles! These bouts should come as quite a treat to all you loyal fans since it was your suggestions that created these matchups!" Lola said.

"Interesting." Erza said. "Sounds like they get to choose who fights who." You said. "So then, if you don't watch how much magic you use in a contest, you could find yourself thrown into a battle with no time to rest." Lucy said. "The battle rules are simple! Each team will square off as shown here! The winning teams will be awarded ten points! while the losing teams get jack squat! In the case of a draw, both teams will be awarded five points. Ready for action? Let's get things started with the first contest of the Grand Magic Games, one that we call "Hidden"!" Lola said. ""Hidden"? What's that?" Someone asked. "How should I know?" Someone replied. "At this time, we'd like each team to select one member to compete! Once your selections are made, the rules will be explained in their entirety." Lola said. "Let me start us off right!" Yaeger said. "It's all yours. May the Wild be with you!" Rocker said. "Go Wild!" The guild shouted. "The first challenge has stepped forward! Representing Quatro Cerberus; it's Yaeger!" Lola said. "The first one'll be easy. I'll size up our opponents." Beth said. "We're counting on you." Kagura said. "From Mermaid Heel, the adorable Beth Vanderwood!" Lola said. "Nalpudding. You go." Ivan said. "I won't letcha down, boss man." He said. "From Raven Tail, Nalpudding!" Lola said. "I'll take this one." Eve said. "We're sending you out there in style!" Ichiya said. "Look out ladies, here comes Eve!" Hibiki and Ren said. "Blue Pegasus sends out Eve Tearm! Gotta love those lively cheers!" Lola said. "I shall handle this. I'm feeling inspired by the birds' lovely songs." Rufus said. "Keep your eyes on this one, folks! From Sabertooth the the minstrel who sings to the red moon, Rufus Lore!" Lola said. Everyone cheered. "They're going nuts for the pretty boy? I don't get it." Natsu asked. "Whatever the rules, I'm sure the name is a clue. I have a feeling that stealth and guile. will be essential to win." Erza said. "If only Wendy wasn't out of commission. She'd be perfect." Lucy said. "I'll do it, guys! I could use a warmup anyway! you just sit back and let a real man handle it." Elfman said. "It's called hidden, so I don't think sending out a giant is a great idea." Gray said. "Sounds like in this game the smaller you are the better, so that means it's down to me or Yuka." Sherria said. "Who're you callin' small?" Yuka asked. "No. We shall take the lead from the start. Just leave it to me." Lyon said. "From Lamia Scale, Lyon Bastia!" Lola said. "Guys, I'll do this one." You said. "From Fairy Tail Team A, the dragon slayer (Y/n) (L/n)." Lola said. "If (Y/n)'s competing, then so will I!" Juvia said. "From Fairy Tail Team B, Juvia Lockser!" Lola said. "The competitors have been chosen and the long wait is finally over! Grab a refreshment and get glued to your seat, 'cause you're not gonna want to miss a single nail biting moment of Hidden!" Lola said.
