Lucy's POV
I sit down by the river next to the Dragneel's house. Just dipping my feet in and playing with my toes. The water was reflecting the dark sky, making it seem deep and mysterious. The battle I had with Natsu tired me. I used my bottle of vervain and wolfsbain, now I have to plant some of my own here. I gaze into the water, deep into thought. This is where I start my life. Tonight I'll be sleeping somewhere completely new with a royal stranger and his cat. Should I be thrilled?

-???: "Juvia wants to know if something is wrong." A voice startles me. My eyes quickly look towards the sound. Seeing a baby blue haired mermaid that had dark blue eyes and tail. Her huge orbs were studying me, and were full of sympathy.

-Lucy: "Who's Juvia?" I ask, wondering who this curious person was. She cocks her head towards her right shoulder in confusion.

-???: "Juvia is Juvia." She says as she flaps her tail, getting me a little wet. "Oh, Juvia is sorry!" And then I realize, she's Juvia. Speaking in third person?

-Lucy: "You're Juvia?" Her small frown then turns upside down.

-Juvia: "Yes...!" She says as her eyebrows scrunch softly.

-Lucy: "I'm Lucy Heartfilia. Nice to meet you Juvia." I say as I give her a sweet smile. Her arms extend to the grass I was sitting on, and she pressures herself to sit next to me. Revealing her tail better now. "Will you be ok out of the water for long?"

-Juvia: "Juvia has nothing to worry about. Juvia is water, Lucy-san." I give her a questionable expression, not understanding her. "Watch Juvia." She says as she shuts her eyes and grabs my hands. Soon, her whole body becomes clear and liquid, including her tail. What was in front of me surprised me immensely.

-Lucy: "Wow, how beautiful." I say before she re-opens them and smiles sweetly. "So you're gifted as well? I can summon a mermaid, you know? Her name's Aquarius. She was the daughter of Poseidon and Amphitrite, now all I can summon is her spirit, which became celestial because of her purity." I can't help but laugh at what I just said. Aquarius, pure? She's the devil with blue hair.

-Juvia: "Is Lucy-san mocking Juvia in a way?" She asks, with a hint of hurt. I quickly shake my hands in the air and giggle more.

-Lucy: "No no, I'm just remembering my encounter with Aquarius moments ago. She was angry at me for summoning her in a river instead of a beach. She's grumpy, but is the closest thing I have to family right now. My parents have passed, and I have no siblings. So she's like the aunt that I never had."

-Juvia: "Juvia thinks Fairy Tail will become Lucy-san's new home soon. Juvia is lonely too. Juvia never met her family, and the other mermaids and mermen don't accept her. She would do anything to become a part of Fairy Tail and be with her lover." She says sadly. It makes me terrible to be unappreciated of what I have when she desires it. Especially the part where she can't be with her lover.

-Lucy: "If you don't mind me sticking my nose where it doesn't belong, who is your lover? I wonder if it's someone I know..." Her saddened eyes light up at my question. Probably more than happy to speak nicely about him or her.

-Juvia: "He has dark raven hair, his eyes seem like a lazy type, someone rarely sees him smiling, and is always shirtless..." She says as her finger draws something in the dirt. The drawing wasn't technically necessary as soon as she mentioned the word 'shirtless'. I giggle softly at her crush.

-Lucy: "Gray Fullbuster. The prince of lamias. He's also gifted. His power is with ice. You guys would actually make a good combination if you asked me. He's pretty handsome..." I say, thinking about the dark haired male. The one who caught me. He was rather sweet towards me, though Natsu babbled on about him being a stripper.

-Juvia: "Love rival!" She shouts before she splashes herself back into the water. I gasp, surprised at the sudden outburst.

-Lucy: "I only said he was handsome... geez..." I mumble before I stand up, wiping the cloak. I start moving my legs towards the bonfire the institution was having. The place was full of Maleficus, Pythonissam, Lycanthropus, Lamias, and Custos. It was a welcoming batch for us guardians. Apparently I'm meeting the person who had the genuine idea tonight.

-???: "Alright twerps! Sit and settle down, settle down." A short man with white facial hair says on top of three stacked benches. Soon, everyone commanded his words and started hearing him out. "My name is Makarov Dreyar, your master. But you can call me gramps if you'd like. Tonight, we invite our new family members to stand and reveal themselves and get to know each other." He says before many people I was on the plane with stand straight. Being the nervous girl I am, I stay put. Not wanting to gather their attention around me.

-Natsu: "Oy, gramps, my custos doesn't want to stand!" A voice shouts randomly. I roll my eyes, and bite my tongue down to not call him so many words.

-Makarov: "Stand!" He says more seriously, causing me to jump in the air and straighten like if this were a boot camp. "Alright. Now, everyone will say their name, father's and mother's name, the person they're guiding, and special power if you hold one." He says before pointing his finger towards a short purple haired girl called Kinana. I had only talked to her once or twice back in Japan.

-Kinana: "Oh, umm... My name is Kinana and I've never met my parents. I d-don't really have a special power...umm...and I'm guiding a Lycanthropus called Erik but he's not in Fairy Tail..." She says while tapping her fingers together.

-Makarov: "Ah, Oracion Seis. His special power is poison yes?"

-Kinana: "Y-yes!"

-Makarov: "Welcome Kinana, you may sit back down. You!" He shouts, his finger towards me makes me jump once again. I sigh and scratch my head as I stand. I've never really liked the attention but always endure with a sweet smile on my face.

-Lucy: "My name is Lucy Heartfilia, daughter of Layla and Jude Heartfilia. I'm guiding Natsu Dragneel, along with my 'special' powers, my celestial spirits passed down by my mother."

-Natsu: "Yo! Team Natsu!" He shouts as his fist winds up in the air along with his arm around my shoulder. I smile and laugh under my breath a little at his joy.

-Makarov: "The spawn of the Heartfilia legacy. I remember your parents as heroes, they lay with an irreplaceable respect. Welcome to Fairy Tail, and congratulations on becoming the Royal blood's custos!" He shouts before plenty of clapping roars. A sigh escapes me once again at the hearing of the word legacy. How it bothered me so much. I loved my parents, plenty, but can't I be my own person? I don't really want friends if they only speak to me because I'm famous. So far, the only friend I've made here that is clueless but not at the same time is Natsu. Juvia doesn't know either, but is she even my friend? She seemed pretty angry at me. He soon pointed towards Erza after me, gaining her strong attitude.

-Erza: "I am named Erza Scarlet, I was abandoned by my parents, due to the action I do not remember them. I guide Gray Fullbuster and I have the power of requip. The power of changing my armor or clothes, and weapons in an instant." She says before she sits back down, next to Gray. I smile at the sound of her strong and powerful voice.

-Makarov: "Your hair is as red as your name, Scarlet. I believe you are an armborne, a rare power you have. Just like Ms. Heartfilia, but you are a legborne. Yes?" I look at Erza and see her nod, which I end up doing as well. And he went on, wanting to know about other custos. I look back at the water curiously. I wanted to speak more with Juvia. But I made her feel bad, apparently. I can't lie, I find Gray extremely attractive. He even saved me from my fear. I didn't need him to catch me physically, but I'm terrified of heights. So he didn't want me to be scared.

-Natsu: "Stop thinking so much Lucy, your head'll hurt later." He says as he eats some plain bread. Looking like a pig. I shake my head and agree with him. A headache because of nothing doesn't seem right. I'll be receiving plenty from some blue and pink.
