Chapter 11: Questions
Natsu's POV
-Makarov: "We cannot really know what it is that happened to Lucy since she will not speak a word of it. But by the means of her fainting, having a seizure, and waking up in shock makes me understand that what she went through was a vision. I suppose you have received the symbols on your body that represent movement of your fists and breath as one called In and Yo. Only truth can withstand the symbol between both subjects." Gramps says as he taps his feet on the floor continuously. I scratch my neck and nod slowly, still shaken up by the pasts events. It's been a couple hours since the situation, so Lucy's laying down in bed without speaking a single word. Not to me, nor Happy, nor anyone. As if she sold her tongue to the devil.
-Natsu: "Do you think her not talking to anyone is caused because of her being shaken up or because of what the vision said, assuming that's what happened..."
-Makarov: "There's no reason why to fear Natsu. Everyone's first time is terrifying. But if she doesn't speak by tomorrow, we'll begin to worry. Hopefully she will speak of what she saw, it's very important to know if the vision is a warning of the future, a memory from the past, or both. So I assume it's from shock. Most visions are riddles, so they're not easy to comprehend. If she reaches out, we can help her solve it."
I just hope the past events won't repeat themselves once again.
I hear in a whisper that only my ears can reach.
-Natsu: "What?"
-Makarov: "Hm?" He asks curiously before sitting back down in his chair and drinks his cup of beer. I shake my head and stand from the seat I had taken.
-Natsu: "Ima try to talk to Lucy again... I'll see you later gramps." I say before I make my way towards my area.
Lucy's POV
I stare down at Lyra as she swiftly plays her harp and sings with such a sweet and innocent tone. The melody her fingers let out calms and distracts me. Imagine a fish in a pond, just swimming without any danger whatsoever. The animal just flaps his fins through the water, doing what it's known to do. A white and black fish. Until it seperates, and becomes Yin-Yang. In-Yo. Natsu-Lucy. Natsu- No trust. 'A gun does not trust, reason why it has a trigger' --
-Lyra: "Lucy?" I shake my head as I move my sight towards her, to see her with a worried expression. "Lucy-san, we, your spirits, love you like if you were our child. We know you return the feelings, so would you like to speak of whatever it is that's making feel like this?"
-Lucy: "Why do you ask when you already know..." I say as I flip to the other side of the bed, and bring out her key. "Thank you..." I say before closing her gate quickly, not wanting to say out loud what mother and I spoke of.
-Natsu: "Don't you think that was a little rude?" I jump at the sound of the familiar voice as it wasn't in sight. I calm down and shrug my shoulders without a word. I cringe as I feel something furry crawl between my legs. I look down, and my eyes widen as I see Happy with tears in his eyes along with a frown that was breaking my heart.
-Happy: "Lucy...why are you mad at us? We don't mean anything we say. You're not really fat! I promise!" He whimpers as he scratches his eyes. I bite my lower lip before reaching out to him, and bringing him up to my arms, cuddling with the cute fella.
-Lucy: "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." I pet him behind his ear and kiss his forehead. "I'll make it up to you by catching fish."
-Happy: "Promise?" I nod as I hug him and feel his tiny paws on my arms.
-Natsu: "That counts for me too right? I've been worried all day because you haven't spoken a word to me. We have to trust each other, right?" I roll my eyes at his question. I sit up straight, still with Happy in my arms staring down at Natsu.
-Lucy: "Yes. We do have to trust each other. But I have to take away the trust I had for you because of your secrets. You ask me to trust you when really, I can't put faith into someone that doesn't put it into me. You keep giving me hints about your past but continue shadowing me, preventing me to understand. Everyone's always shadowing me, and it's completely unfair! Every single person I've asked about my parents always just give the shoulder instead of actually answering and being considerate that my parents have been dead for years and the only thing I know about them were the classes they were in!" Before I knew it, I feel some frustrated liquid pouring out of my eyes. I just literally wanted to snatch his head off so I could pluck his memories from his brain. He became rather shocked and confused from this outburst and rant. But in a split second, his face changes to this cold hearted one. It almost looked as if he had sympathy for me, but that quickly changed.
-Natsu: "You're lucky no one wants to tell you. It's not a good story to tell. Besides, what's the point in knowing about the past? Just drop it." He says before walking into the bathroom, and shutting the door. Anger runs through my veins at the words that left his mouth. Just drop it? I stand up as Happy jumps onto the bed and begin slamming the door.
-Lucy: "Just drop it?! The past is everything! If it weren't because of it, I wouldn't be here guarding an idiot like you! The last thing I am is lucky. All of this just makes me feel dumb and you plan to just leave it like that..." My yells now just dropped into a fainting whisper. What wasn't going through my head right now? I'm being a mess of thoughts. If Natsu can't trust me, then I will do exactly as my mother told me to. I will not trust him. I take a deep breath, trying to fix the knot I had in my throat. My feet begin to stomp it's way out of the door of the room, being in front of the house. I glance around, and feel the urge to just walk towards Gray's place. The guardians aren't on duty today unless there's an emergency, which means he's alone. He was really sweet to me the first day I arrived, maybe he can help me get a little distracted.
I make my way towards the white house that was full of blue curtains. Since he's royal blood as well, his house is much more bigger than normal ones but not as much as Natsu's since he's highest rank of them all. King. I move the blue curtain a bit to enter without difficulty. It would have been nice to see Erza though... I say in my mind before it goes blank completely. My eyes widen at the sight in front.
-Lucy: "Oh my God, I am so sorry!" I yell before turning around, feeling warmth all over my face. I just had to enter once he was walking out of the shower, didn't I? All he had was a towel wrapped around his waist, hiding just a small amount of his body.
-Gray: "Oh Lucy, I didn't expect you to be here." I hear his tone normally, causing me to jump. Just about to apologize again, "Oh crap! Eh, I'll put on something real fast, you don't have to get out." He says, causing me to sigh.
-Lucy: "Maybe I should just g-go..." I whisper, to only hear 'tsk'.
-Gray: "It's fine Lucy, I actually wanted to hang out with you since we only talked on the first day really. How's everything going? I heard you got your first vision, that's great!" He says excitedly, causing me to scratch my neck uncomfortably.
-Lucy: "Yeah... Great..." I say as I look down upon the curtain, feeling everything that just happened moments ago once again. The blue that's in sight gets replaced with some white and navy blue instead. I swiftly look up, to see Gray standing there clothed and confused.
-Gray: "What's wrong...?" I hesitate plenty about telling him anything.
-Lucy: "Nothing..."
-Gray: "You know I can get into your head right?"
-Lucy: "Pfft, you forgetting who you're talking to?" His serious face then becomes into a chuckle, and his laugh becomes contagious.
-Gray: "Oh of course, you're a guardian, oooh~" He coos, causing me to roll my eyes at him. "That head of yours has a heavy block, doesn't it?" He says as he taps his finger on my head softly.
-Lucy: "Of course, women aren't easy." He laughs again, soon becoming serious as before.
-Gray: "But seriously, are you really okay? I know you just came from a mission, bringing a new member, and getting a vision. But that's really all..." He says lowly before scrunching his eyebrows angrily, "it's Natsu's fault isn't it? What the hell did that pyro do?" I bite my tongue, not wanting to spill a word. But wanting to at the same time. I stay quiet and look down.
-Lucy: "It's just...complicated. I wouldn't want you to worry." His angry expression cooled down back to his normal one, and now is that I realize how close we've actually gotten physically.
-Gray: "I don't want to make you uncomfortable, so I'll just say one more thing since you obviously don't seem too keen on saying. I really think I can help with whatever you're worrying about. Fairy Tail's a family, and family's always there for each other." He says, causing my heart to skip a beat. Maybe he can help me...
-Lucy: "How old are you?"
-Gray: "Old. I can tell you that for sure, over two centuries." He says before grabbing my arm and pulling me towards his bed. I sit on it comfortably, finally finding that could possibly answer me.
-Lucy: "Promise me you'll answer everything I ask you." I say, causing his eyes to go wide, and soon becoming normal.
-Gray: "Shoot."
